I'm so happy that there are such delicious restaurants in the neighborhood! Every set meal with kamameshi is a hit, but our recommendation is the motsunabe! Perfect for replenishing stamina in the summer heat! You can even drink all the broth! The optional appetizers (with extra charge) are all winners! Perfect for snacking while waiting for your meal! Each dish reflects the owner's dedication!

I happened to pass by and was drawn in by the sign for "kamadaki gohan" (rice cooked in a pot). The menu was extensive and surprisingly affordable! After about 5 minutes of deliberation, I decided on the most popular set meal. For just a little over 1100 yen, you get kamadaki gohan, charcoal-grilled mackerel, tempura, miso soup, a small side dish, and a mini dessert. Amazing! Each person gets their own pot of freshly cooked rice, and the main dishes are also plentiful. The cost performance is incredible. But it's not just the cost performance that's amazing! The freshly cooked rice is firm, sweet, and delicious. The grilled mackerel is fragrant from being cooked over charcoal. The tempura is served piping hot. So happy! I would love to visit if it's nearby, as the cost performance is great and the rice is delicious. Thank you for the feast. Best cost performance! Kamadaki gohan [Kamakatsu].

First time at this restaurant. The freshly cooked silver rice was extremely delicious. The tempura, grilled fish, and fried chicken were all delicious. I want to try going at night next time. The reason for 4 stars is that the seats at the back are tatami style, so it's safe for children but uncomfortable for elderly people. The fried chicken had less meat and more skin.

Discovered a tonkatsu restaurant in Torikai that serves set meals even at night. They offer a variety of set meals, and you can change to flavored rice for an additional fee. I opted for sweet potato rice, which was incredibly delicious! Having set meals available at night is a real treat. Now, about the rice - it was amazingly tasty! Warm and flavorful, a taste you can't replicate at home. The rice stuck to the side of the pot was the best part. The charcoal-grilled chicken was also incredibly delicious! Perfect combination of main dish and rice. Great value for money. Dessert was also included as a service. Couldn't find any faults. Highly recommended!

(2022.04.04) When I felt like having Japanese food... I decided to visit a Japanese restaurant that specializes in "kamameshi" called "Kamikatsu." Despite assuming they were confident in both kamameshi and tonkatsu based on the name, there was no tonkatsu on the menu... Each person was served a pot of silver rice cooked with care, along with dishes made with seasonal ingredients and a focus on providing energy for the next day through drinking. It seems the name "Kamikatsu" was derived from kamameshi and vitality. Upon entering, I took off my shoes at the entrance and was led to a room with four 4-person tables set up. The curtains between the tables allowed for privacy, and the comfortable chairs and tables made the dining experience enjoyable. For lunch, they offered around 15 standard menu items and 4 daily specials, all served with kamameshi, with the option to upgrade to one of five kamameshi varieties for an additional cost. For today's lunch, I chose the "tempura and sashimi set." The tempura included eggplant, shishito pepper, and pumpkin, with a crispy fried chicken piece adding a touch of Hakata cuisine. The sashimi platter featured sesame mackerel, amberjack, and horse mackerel, showcasing freshness and firm texture. I decided to indulge a bit more and upgraded to the red snapper kamameshi, which had glossy grains of rice bursting with flavor and a satisfying depth of red snapper taste. The rice was so delicious that I could have kept eating endlessly.

I made a reservation and used points to go to this restaurant. The staff was very kind. Today's recommendation was octopus mixed rice with tempura set for me, and mackerel with miso paste tempura set for my partner. At first, they said there might be a delay because the rice cooker was not working well, but the dishes were served promptly in the end. The rice was shiny and the octopus was firm. I think it's good value for money. Also, it seems to be a child-friendly restaurant, as there was a family with a baby dining there.

I felt like eating sea bream rice, so I went to "Kamikatsu" in Torikai. They had sea bream rice for 880 yen, but I decided to go for the luxury option of sea bream chazuke set for 1628 yen. I upgraded to sea bream rice for an additional 400 yen, which came with tempura, side dishes, and dessert. I enjoyed sea bream sashimi and finished with sea bream rice chazuke. It's definitely delicious to have sea bream chazuke as the finale. What a luxurious meal!笑 Thank you for the meal.

Thanks to the nutritious and satisfying lunch, I was able to refrain from eating too much at night the next day. Feeling good, reflecting back with a haiku. The parking lot at the corner that requires a reservation for lunch can generally accommodate two cars. Due to heavy traffic and limited parking space at the storefront, it seems common to use nearby coin parking. The kamameshi takes time to prepare, so even if you manage to park, the restaurant may be crowded, with waiting times. It feels like an izakaya in a hot spring inn. A wide variety of menu options and ingredients. From simmered dishes to miso soup, everything was delicious and satisfying. Of course, the kamameshi was outstanding, and we enjoyed a luxurious meal with our own choices. Thank you for the delicious Japanese cuisine. Next time, I'd like to try the cost-effective daily special too! Looking forward to visiting again soon! ^-^

I came to the restaurant for the first time and ordered recommended dishes without looking at the regular menu. We had appetizers, tuna and chicken nanban set meal, a single steak, and dashimaki tamago. The silver rice cooked in a pot was delicious. It was a bit small for two people, so if we had ordered something else, one set meal would have been enough.

This restaurant was introduced on the udon map four months ago. The shop opened in May 2019. They started selling udon to provide menu options that are easy for children to eat.

Lunch limited: Charcoal-grilled chicken thigh with kama tamago udon 600 yen + tax
Salmon and mushroom shrimp kama rice with tempura set meal 1080 yen + tax
I visited for lunch on November 4, 2020. The charcoal-grilled dishes looked delicious, but there was no udon on the menu. When I asked, they mentioned the kama tamago udon for 800 yen including tax, which was a 140 yen increase from before. Since the price difference wasn't significant, I thought about ordering the top menu item, the delicious 860 yen charcoal-grilled chicken set meal, but when they brought the menu, they said "this is not available." It seemed like they couldn't provide it from the beginning, not sold out right after opening. It might be helpful to make the entrance menu more visible for customers who come in looking at the signboard. Since there was no set meal, I ordered udon. It took 15 minutes to arrive. Udon was in the pot, with the noodles being chewy and slightly soft. Mix the egg and chicken together. The charcoal-grilled chicken is delicious. I preferred adding the tsuyu for a salty flavor. I wished there was rice to go with it. Since there was no option for extra noodles, the portion of udon was not enough.

The rice here is amazing! There are many restaurants that serve kettle-cooked rice, but this place is special because all the customers are always impressed and say, "The rice was delicious," when they leave. We are no exception, and we are just grateful to be able to have such delicious rice for lunch. Some customers even wanted to take some rice home because they couldn't finish it all. We were so satisfied with the taste that we finished everything. The charcoal-grilled fish is also delicious, and the sashimi is fresh. The dishes here reflect the owner's dedication. The lunch menu offers a range of reasonably priced options, all served with kettle-cooked rice, which is amazing. We resisted the temptation to take some rice home and left. There are also reasonably priced set meals for dinner, so we would like to try them next time. Currently participating in the Go To EATS campaign, which we gratefully took advantage of. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. ⭐️

Lunch is reasonably priced. The freshly made rice is delicious, as well as the sashimi and tempura! It would be even better if they included chawanmushi or offered it for an additional 100 yen! It was raining and I arrived on a motorcycle, so they were considerate of me being wet. The service was also very polite. Highly recommended!

I had never been down this street before, but I wouldn't have entered the restaurant without any information (lol). A friend had been here and told me it seemed like a good place. You take off your shoes at the entrance. There is a kids' space in the back! Great for families with children!! The lunch set menu is varied. The rice is cooked in a pot!! We chose white rice, but they recommended changing it to seasoned rice for a few extra yen. They also have a kids' lunch, which got my daughter really excited! We ordered the udon set. The broth was delicious too. I wanted to get the set with horse sashimi, but the main dish was only fish. When I asked, they kindly changed it to chicken nanban! It cost around 1400 yen, I think. I don't like raw fish, but the sashimi of the straw-grilled fish here was incredibly delicious!!! The other fish was also fresh!! They said they had received good quality fish that day. The rice was freshly cooked and tasty, so I want to go back with my family!

Full lunch with pot-cooked rice! Torikai "Kamakatsu" Located in the residential area of Torikai, there is an izakaya called "Kamakatsu". With a name like a fishing equipment maker... Lunch is around 1000 yen and includes various dishes... All come with pot-cooked rice... It seems that there is no option for "less rice". They cook the order when received, so it takes a little time... And then, the Miso mackerel appears! Priced at 858 yen. The rice cooked in the pot looks amazing... Mix it once and let it steam for about 2 minutes... The Miso mackerel is topped with plenty of colorful vegetables, so it's hard to tell at first... When you dig in, it looks like this. It's a bit small, but there are plenty of vegetables, and most importantly, it goes perfectly with the rice. Drinks are also served for free during weekday lunches. I chose grapefruit. Ate too much! Need to hold back on dinner... ● Store Information Kamakatsu 050-5597-5716 1-5-27 Torikai, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City Business hours 11:30-14:30, 17:00-21:30, Fridays and Saturdays until 22:30

I found a new flyer in my mailbox, advertising a restaurant with a great lunch menu, so I decided to visit. The restaurant used to be known for its motsunabe (offal hot pot) and was located where Dohira was. Inside, there were many lunch sets not listed on the flyer. I took off my shoes at the shoe box and sat at a 4-person table. I ordered the popular tempura assortment and sashimi set (980 yen) and a highball (190 yen) as well. The rice takes time to cook, so the highball arrived first. The staff brought the side dishes for the set first and then the main dish after about 10 minutes. The set included salmon and yellowtail sashimi, vegetable tempura, salad, simmered hijiki seaweed, pickles, miso soup, and rice cooked in a pot. The rice was delicious and there was enough for 2 servings. After the meal, I had a complimentary soft drink, so I chose iced coffee. Overall, it was a great value for a local lunch spot.

Kama-kama rice #Kamakatsu {Fukuoka City Chuo-ku} July 23, 2019 (Tuesday) This restaurant is said to serve delicious kama-kama rice. It is located along the Jonan Line, which runs from Ropponmatsu to Nishijin. There are three parking spaces in front of the restaurant. You have to take off your shoes before entering, and all the seating is at tables. It's a bit disappointing that it's not a sunken kotatsu style. There is a kids' space in one corner of the restaurant, which is a nice service for those with children. Now, what should I eat? The prices are quite reasonable. There are options under 1,000 yen. The Inaka Gozen set for 1,030 yen (excluding tax) seems like a good choice as you can try a variety of dishes. I asked for the basic white rice for the meal. "We will start cooking the rice now, so please wait a moment," I was told. The Inaka Gozen arrived without much wait. It includes two main dishes, miso soup, a side dish, pickles, and dessert. "Mix it once, cover it for about 2 minutes, and then enjoy," they instructed. The freshly cooked rice has a nice aroma. The freshly grilled salted mackerel and chicken tempura are delicious. The kama-kama rice is served in a generous portion, equivalent to about 2 bowls. The freshly cooked rice is indeed delicious. The side dishes are tasty, and the pickles are not lacking in quality. Finally, I enjoyed a hot dessert of warabi mochi. It was a satisfying lunch with kama-kama rice. 1-5-27 Torikai, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City The restaurant has irregular holidays.
