Fukuoka Fashion Building, built in Showa 56, houses a retro café on the first floor. The building itself is very retro, with a rotary dial for the internal phone line. The building is well-maintained. From the main entrance, turn left at the elevator hall. There is a rotary dial internal phone where the reception used to be. Turn right and head towards the back to find a retro sign. The breakfast set with both Japanese and bread options is only 500 yen, which is quite cheap. Other menu items are around 700 yen. Many people order the daily special. This time, I tried the Beef Butter Set, which came out quite quickly. The beef sautéed in butter had a rich aroma. The miso soup with tofu and seaweed, salad with boiled egg on top of furikake rice, and spaghetti with soft vegetables made it a good meal. The buttery flavor was strong, so I was glad I ordered an iced coffee afterwards. The rice was very appetizing. The clientele seemed to be mostly older than middle-aged. Fortunately, there were no smokers around, so the atmosphere was pleasant.

I visited "Restaurant Kida" located in front of Hakata Station in Hakata Ward. I ordered the Beef Butter Meal (850 yen). The restaurant is located inside Fukuoka Fashion Building and has a very retro coffee shop vibe where smoking is allowed, making it an oasis for nearby smoking salarymen (although I don't smoke). Since the table seats were full, I sat at the counter seat at the back, placed my order, and in a few minutes, my meal arrived! The pasta was topped with plenty of beef fried in butter, and the combination of the beef's umami flavor and Japanese-style sauce made the rice very appetizing. The pasta, coated in butter and Japanese-style sauce, was also delicious. I finished it in no time! After the meal, I enjoyed a coffee for an extra 100 yen, taking a relaxing break. Thank you for the meal!

I randomly entered a shop. As soon as I entered, I could smell the tobacco... even though there were no customers, it seemed like the smell had really soaked in. However, the daily special for 600 yen was quite cost-effective! It also came with a salad. But the taste... the salad was just average, but the main dish, the hamburger, was... probably the least tasty hamburger I've ever had in my life. As for the curry, it was a bit spicy. People who don't like spicy food might not enjoy it.

I visited "Restaurant Kida" located in front of Hakata Station in Hakata-ku. I ordered the Hamburg Curry (900 yen). It is located inside the Fukuoka Fashion Building. The restaurant has a retro feel and smoking is still allowed inside. There are counter seats and table seats, and I chose the counter seat. After ordering, I waited for a few minutes and then my dish arrived! The curry was poured generously over the rice in a deep plate. I took a bite and found that it was not a spicy curry, but rather a slightly sweet and traditional curry which was delicious. The hamburger was so tender and juicy that I could scoop it up with a spoon, and it paired perfectly with the curry! I finished it in no time! After the meal, I had a coffee for an additional 100 yen, and it was a nice way to end the meal. Thank you for the meal!

I always rely on this place for lunch. It's always busy during lunchtime. The daily specials as well as the regular menu are delicious, and you can also get coffee for just 100 yen after your meal. The fact that smoking is allowed is also a popular feature. With a counter and magazines and newspapers available, it's a great place to dine alone. The staff is friendly and welcoming, which adds to the popularity of the place. If you go a little later during lunchtime, you might be able to get in without much of a wait, even though it's usually crowded.

I used it for a business trip to Hakata. I arrived in Hakata the day before, worked at the Hakata office in the morning, and then went to lunch with the local team. [Shop] A cafe in a normal office building. It was full of salarymen during lunchtime. [Lunch] Daily special for 700 yen, coffee for 100 yen cheaper and delicious, with just the right amount. It's a relief that even with coffee after the meal, it's still 800 yen. Today's daily special is a pork cutlet set, and the amount of cutlet is generous. If you eat at your usual pace, you may end up with leftover cutlet. It was a pleasant surprise. It's a good place for everyday use. It's reasonably tasty and you can eat cheaply.

Today, I visited the restaurant "Restaurant Kida" for lunch. Located on the 1st floor of a Fukuoka fashion building, the restaurant was bustling with customers. I decided to try the daily special, which was pork cutlets, priced at 750 yen. The atmosphere was cozy, with a smoking area and amenities like a 20-inch TV and manga books. The pork cutlets were small but tasty, served with a delicious sauce. The meal also included eggplant miso, spaghetti salad, and some vegetables. The rice was topped with furikake, making it a satisfying meal. The miso soup contained bean sprouts, thin fried tofu, and watercress, reminding me of home. Overall, it was a popular and enjoyable dining experience.

This place called "Kida" is a popular spot among my colleagues at work. It's a cozy restaurant where everyone seems to gather, whether alone or with others. The staff are very friendly and now greet me like family. The interior has an old-fashioned coffee shop vibe. I usually order the "Yakiniku set meal" or the "Fillet cutlet set meal". The photo here shows the Fillet cutlet set meal. Others enjoy dishes like Yakiniku pilaf or Beef butter set meal. The food is decent (the miso soup is delicious!!) but the atmosphere keeps me coming back regularly.

No matter how to express it, this place seems to be a famous lunch spot in a typical office district. When you actually try the food, it's delicious. The kimchi pilaf is a real pilaf, not just fried rice, and it's cooked perfectly. It's really tasty. However, what makes me hesitate to describe it is probably the portion size and the calories. One of their signature dishes is the "Beef Butter Bowl," which is a generous serving of beef barbecue on top of pasta mixed with plenty of butter, and for some reason, two rice balls on the side! The amount of carbohydrates is overwhelming, and it gives a decadent impression in this eco-conscious era. Also, if you order the "Hamburger Kimchi Pilaf," it comes out as a delicious pilaf with a sizable hamburger plopped on top, creating a rich, high-calorie, high-protein, metabolic luxurious dish that seems to lack coherence in my eyes. A friend who frequents this place said, "Eating at this place is like slowly heading towards suicide, isn't it?" A blunt statement indeed. However, knowing all this, we can't help but keep going back. Once you try it, you'll understand. Despite all the talk about being eco-friendly and dieting, we feel the most happiness when we eat oily food.
