On this day, I had to go to Minamimorimachi for work. I was alone and thought about skipping lunch and heading back, but when I decided to take the JR Tozai Line back to the office, I realized I had to wait for over 30 minutes. So, I decided to go out of exit 7 and went into the shopping street of Tenjinbashi-suji 1-chome to kill some time. There was a Western-style restaurant right there with a tempting lunch sign outside. I walked past the counter and was seated at a table. The man at the next table ordered the C lunch set, so I decided to order the same. The C lunch set came with a hamburger, shrimp fry, soup, and rice served on a hot plate. Underneath the hamburger, there was a bed of onions, and behind the hamburger, there were some large shrimp fries. The hamburger was tender and covered in plenty of demi-glace sauce. The shrimp fry on the side was plump and delicious. I quickly finished my meal, and when I looked at the man next to me, I realized I had eaten faster than him. I paid the bill of 970 yen and headed towards the station. It was a satisfying meal.

This is a Western-style restaurant in the Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street. It seems to be a chain store. I ordered the hamburger. It was soft, but lacked the flavor and juiciness of the meat. The texture lacked a contrast between the surface and the inside, almost like a frozen hamburger. The sauce was more sweet than savory. The hamburger set with a half-boiled egg, rice, soup, and salad cost 1300 yen. It felt a bit pricey for the taste. The service was relatively quick, but the seating arrangement seemed unclear, causing confusion for some customers. Taking everything into account, I may not choose to go there again in the future. I am curious about their bento boxes though.

Had lunch at a restaurant in Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street. I decided to try this place that caught my eye. It's a deep restaurant, and I went past the counter to a table in the back. I ordered the grilled chicken or chicken steak, either one is fine. It was quite delicious with a slightly ketchup-flavored sauce. The side dish was Napolitan, which is a classic choice. You can get your carbs without ordering rice. There were many families and couples eating here. It's bright and a good place to eat.

After visiting Tenmangu Shrine for New Year's Day, I went to a nearby Fujio-ken restaurant. Since it was New Year's Day, the restaurant was crowded. I ordered the beef cutlet. Despite the busy atmosphere, the service was quick! The beef cutlet was flavorful and well-cooked. Although it is a chain restaurant, the taste was satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I took a walk to the Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street. It is known as the longest shopping street in Japan, but as I walked, everything started to look the same, which was strange. I came across this Western-style restaurant with a nice display outside. I ordered the "Demiglace Omurice and Tonkatsu for 1080 yen." The food was served surprisingly quickly. The interior walls were mirrored, so I could see the kitchen clearly. Even the wait was enjoyable with this view. The tonkatsu was like the typical dish you find at Western-style restaurants - easy to eat and tasty. However, the demiglace sauce seemed lacking something, I'm not sure what. It just wasn't to my liking. To make matters worse, the ketchup rice in the omurice was very sour. Maybe it was the ketchup? I didn't like that either. Seeing other customers' hamburgers looking delicious, I might have made the wrong choice. Thanks for the meal.

※Large Oyster Fry (single item) The batter was fried to the point where it almost looked burnt. The inside was cooked just right. I wonder if they fry it at a high temperature for a short time? I used a knife and fork to separate the oyster meat and dipped it in tartar sauce. The oysters were relatively large, but I wouldn't say they were as big as advertised.
※Iron Plate Hamburg Steak with Homemade Demi-Glace Sauce For this kind of Western-style hamburger, you would expect the excitement of the meat juice overflowing when you cut into it with a knife, but there was no such thrill. The Demi-Glace sauce tasted different from what I've had before, thin and lacking richness. The side dishes were also uninspiring. For a Western-style restaurant, some effort in presentation would be nice. Despite it being the peak time around 7:00 pm, the staff was handling everything from service to cooking to billing all alone. It's no wonder something might slip through the cracks. There are other restaurants nearby like Tsurumaru Udon and Tempura Ebino-ya, both of which are part of the same group, yet they have multiple staff members. And yet, the average customer spending here is much higher?

This time, I visited to have hamburg steak. I also wanted to eat shrimp fry, so I ordered a set of hamburg steak and shrimp fry. Personally, I think the hamburg steak could use a little less bread crumbs or maybe a bit more crispy on the surface. The shrimp fry would have been quite large if the heads were still attached, but they were processed for easy eating, so they seemed small. It might be nice to serve them with the heads on. However, overall, the portions were too big and I ended up feeling quite full.

Lately, there seems to be a boom in Western-style dining restaurants serving hot hamburg steak with demi-glace sauce. I was craving for a dish with both hamburg steak and fried shrimp, so I wandered into a restaurant in Tenjinbashi shopping street. They had a variety of hamburg steak options on the menu, and I decided to order the demi-glace hamburg steak and shrimp fry set. It came with consomme soup and rice. The dish arrived on a sizzling hot plate, with the demi-glace sauce bubbling. I enjoyed mixing the sauce with the hot hamburg steak. The demi-glace sauce was sweet and savory, but lacked depth. The hamburg steak itself was typical of what you would find in chain restaurants. Well, considering the price, it was decent. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I had known about this restaurant for a while, but I always ended up going to the soba restaurant "Tsuchiyamabito-san" when I came around here. Finally, I visited for the first time today. I couldn't decide between the hamburger and omurice, but I ended up choosing omurice. Soon, the omurice was served. First, I tried the deep-fried skewers. They were crispy and went well with the demi-glace sauce. Then, I took a bite of the omurice. The chicken rice was flavorful and each grain of rice could be tasted individually, which I really liked. The demi-glace sauce also enhanced the flavor of the rice. I really enjoyed the omurice, and next time I'll try the hamburger.

Tonight, I bought dinner here. I got 2 cream croquettes for 180 yen. When I got home, I reheated them in the microwave and oven. Surprisingly, the oil they were fried in was good, and they had a great aroma. Even without a discount, they were worth the regular price. The croquettes were filled with plenty of cream and had a nice flavor, so you might not even need sauce. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The toughness of the restaurant industry is quite severe, and even with the sale of bento boxes at the storefront, the overall demand has decreased due to remote work. In the Tenjinbashi-Suji shopping street, there are now more signs of tenants being recruited, and it seems like we may not be able to return to those days. It's quite sad. I had never been to Fujiokan before, but when I saw the white, richly varied lunch boxes stacked at the storefront, I felt like I had to contribute. So, I decided to try the "Hamburger & Chicken Cutlet" bento (450 yen). It included a hand-kneaded hamburger, two chicken cutlets, plain pasta with demi-glace sauce, and cut potato fries, which was quite voluminous. The hamburger had a great taste, texture, and cooking level, and the demi-glace sauce was truly the taste of a specialty store. All of this for 450 yen was such a high cost performance! I couldn't help but become a repeat customer. The next day, I bought the "Hamburger & Pork Cutlet" bento (500 yen). Both the chicken cutlet and pork cutlet were delicious, as expected from a Western-style restaurant. The hamburger was a standard item, and the additional item was either 1) pork cutlet, 2) chicken cutlet, 3) crab cream croquette, 4) fried chicken, 5) shrimp fry... a variety of fried foods set, all for under 500 yen, which was fantastic. This is how I am supporting restaurants these days.

Visited Fujioken Minamimorimachi branch on September 5th.
Ordered Demi Omelette Rice and Pork Cutlet.
Price: 1080 yen.
The dish consisted of omelette rice with demi-glace sauce topped with pork cutlet. It was a generous portion and very delicious.

A Western-style restaurant located in a shopping street. Although only the counter is visible from the entrance, there are about 10 table seats in the back, so it's quite spacious. Even during lunchtime, it's not crowded, so you can be seated at a table even if you're alone and relax. It's a hidden gem. The taste is average. The hamburger has a slight meaty smell, but if it's topped with cheese, it's not too noticeable. The sizzling sound of the teppan (iron plate) gets you excited. You can't get seconds of rice, and the side dishes are just average, so it's a bit pricey at over 1000 yen. However, you can relax, so I might go occasionally.

The tablecloth is dirty and sticky. The young female floor staff's movements are not good. Maybe it's normal for part-time staff, but other restaurants in Japan are much better. Fuji Food Service's Western-style restaurants have many outlets in this area, giving it a Fuji village-like atmosphere. The photos on the posters inside the store are good, but the way they are displayed is bad, with lots of wrinkles. I thought that the cost of all the outlets could easily be covered for a week with just the amount spent on my son's cabaret club fees. The son of Kamu○ra is one thing, but the Fuji son is even worse. Be careful as the floor in the aisles of the store is slippery with oil. I had both ketchup omelet rice and demi-glace omelet rice, but the only difference was the sauce. The contents of the demi-glace omelet rice were ketchup rice, which makes it meaningless. At least change that, the ketchup rice was delicious. I don't understand the point of having demi-glace.

Fuji Food, which operates dining establishments such as Maido Ookini, a Western-style restaurant. I ordered the lunch set with hamburger and shrimp fry for 880 yen. The set came with a cup of onion soup and a plate of rice, with the main dishes served on a heated iron plate. The hamburger was tender and the sauce, which seemed like demi-glace, was sweet. The sauce was a bit too much, making the fried potatoes soggy. The shrimp fry was overcooked. Overall, it was decent for the price. If there is a branch nearby, it would be a convenient place to eat. I enjoyed the meal.

You can almost hear the sizzle, right? The sound of demi-glace sauce sizzling on the hot plate, and even the sound is delicious, isn't it sneaky? (laughs) Behind the steam, there is a foodie like me. Every time I pass by the Japan's longest shopping street, Tenjinbashi-suji Shotengai, I always noticed this restaurant, Western-style Kitchen Fujiokaya. I was torn between ordering the omurice and the top menu item on the sign, the hot plate hamburger steak, so I went with the hamburger steak (even though the sign had a picture of omurice). The spaghetti that came with it was a perfect match, and the taste was just as I imagined. The interior of the restaurant had a cute atmosphere with checkered and red colors, and it felt nostalgic. There were counter seats that made it easy for solo diners to come in. I'm already imagining the deliciousness of my next visit, and I'm curious about the summer limited menu too. But next time, I must absolutely try the omurice. After finishing my meal and stepping outside, I was pleasantly surprised to find takeout items waiting for me. I bought two packs of omurice, which were a great deal, and brought them home. When I got home, the omurice was still warm, but my family had already eaten it... Well, I did eat some, but I've decided that next time, I'll definitely eat the omurice at the restaurant. It was a day filled with delicious thoughts.

On a day at home, I strolled through the shopping street to find lunch. The lunch at Fujiokan, run by Mr. Fujio, has the best cost performance. The lunch set includes a hamburger and two pork cutlets for only 500 yen. They also have a variety of other menu items like omurice, shrimp fry, chicken cutlet, etc. It was a delicious lunch.

I got off at Osaka Metro Minamimorimachi Station and went to a Western-style restaurant in the Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street, which is part of the Fujio Food group. The self-restraint request was starting to ease, so I sat alone at a table for lunch and ordered. The prices are mostly around 1,000 yen. This time, I ordered the pork cutlet. You can hear the sound of cooking near the entrance. The crispy coating and generous meat portion made the meal very enjoyable. The restaurant now provides a spacious and relaxed dining experience. Thank you for the meal~

I decided to get takeout lunch around 2:30 PM and went to Fujioken at Minamimorimachi Station. They were selling a Western-style lunch box with hamburger and beef croquette for ¥450, cash payment only! When I got home an hour later, I realized that the demi-glace sauce had leaked from the bottom of the lunch box. Oh well, the rice was fine. The croquette and fries were covered in demi-glace sauce, which actually made them look delicious. The lunch box included a juicy and flavorful hamburger, tasty croquette, fries, broccoli, and corn for a balanced meal. The hamburger was moist and delicious, and despite the sauce mishap, the croquette was still tasty. With the broccoli and corn, you can get your veggies and the portion size is just right for women. Thank you for the meal!

I decided to enjoy some plum blossom viewing at Osaka Tenmangu Shrine and had lunch at a nearby shopping street. The Caesar salad had a lot of cabbage which gave it a satisfying crunch. The croutons had a delicious cheese flavor. The set with omurice and fried oysters came with a salad. The omurice was surprisingly large and had beef tendon inside instead of the usual chicken rice. It was quite Osaka-like. The set with hamburger steak and fried shrimp was also very filling. The hamburger steak was big and came with a side of spaghetti with broccoli and onions. The hamburger steak, fried shrimp, and fried oysters were decent, especially considering the reasonable price.
