From Colette Itoya towards the park side. Located on the second floor of the building next to the 13th district of Kokura, a cozy izakaya called "Michi no Ie". On the way back from work. Looking for a place to stop by with a friend while heading towards Kokura Station. Hoping to find a clean hostess like in the drama "Hagure Keiji" where you can stop by after work and find hints for solving problems in casual conversations with the hostess. Anyway, after wandering around, my friend and I jumped into this restaurant. The interior of the restaurant has 4-5 seats at the counter, table and sofa seats, and 3 tables in the wooden-floored tatami area. The seating is quite spacious. And in the middle of the floor of the restaurant was a baby playing alone. Guided by the staff, we sat at a table in the tatami area. Then, the baby came over to the table, walking unsteadily, and smiled. My friend and I were healed. It turns out that the baby is not brought by customers, but seems to be the child of the couple who run the restaurant. When asked, the age is 1 year and a few months. A girl. She is very friendly. First, a toast with sweet potato shochu. I had the following dishes. ◆Salmon with miso sauce. I was happy to have this as a side dish... and it goes well with the alcohol. ◆Squid sashimi from the Kanmon area (760 yen) Firm and elastic texture. When chewed thoroughly, sweetness comes out. Another friend joined us. At first, she was surprised, but she was also healed by the baby. According to the staff, she seems to imitate her mother working, making gestures of writing something on the bill, pretending to take orders, and so on. The staff said that she is popular with customers and is highly regarded as the number one girl in Kokura (laughs). Another toast with sweet potato shochu! ◆Grilled oysters from Tsunomi (2 pieces 280 yen) They were so small when opened, so they gave us 3 instead of 2. ◆Three kinds of rare delicacies (price unknown) Changja, octopus with mustard, and pickled firefly squid. ◆Grilled local chicken (price unknown) Firm texture and umami flavor. Since the meat is small, it might have been better if it was a bit more hearty. ◆Dashimaki tamago (price unknown) For an additional charge of +50 yen, they accommodated our request to add mentaiko and shiso. It was more on the savory side. It was hot and soft. It was delicious. The host and hostess of the restaurant are friendly and polite without being pretentious. If the baby girl becomes a good fit for the hostess... I evaluated the restaurant with that in mind. (She may not always be there, or awake) It was different from the detective-like restaurant I was originally looking for, but my friend said that the cuteness of the baby might awaken paternal feelings... I also thought that I would like to go back to be healed again. Thank you for the meal.
