I had charcoal-grilled duck meat and tea noodles in a very nice mountain setting! The aroma was good and the taste was good. I was surprised by the tea noodles, but they were delicious, and the duck meat was too delicious, making me feel like I got a good deal. I felt great and relaxed. It was the best. Thank you for the meal!

I went to buy this matcha roll cake. Since they also offer dining options, I tried the meat pasta and chicken mince and bean curry. The shop is not very spacious, but it is very clean and has a nice atmosphere. The staff at the shop were also very friendly and provided pleasant service with smiles. The meat pasta had very thick noodles, and I was told that the noodles are handmade at this shop. They also have handmade udon noodles. The pasta had a good texture and was delicious with a rich meat sauce. The curry was not very spicy and had a mild flavor that was easy to eat. As for the matcha roll cake, it was made with plenty of matcha and had a rich taste with a slightly sweet cream filling. It was addictive and very delicious.

I stayed at a nearby star culture museum and was in trouble because there was no dinner, but they extended the closing time for me. Moreover, on the way back, they illuminated the outside stairs with the car's headlights because it was dark. Thank you very much. I definitely want to stop by when I come to see the stars.

Hoshino Village's sweets and dishes use plenty of local ingredients. From charcoal-grilled duck meat in tea udon to miso soup set meals and pickles and matcha jelly, every dish is made using the village's specialty products. The fresh pasta is also excellent, thanks to having a professional pastry chef on staff. A visit to Hoshino Village wouldn't be complete without stopping by this gem of a countryside restaurant.

Before entering a restaurant and cafe inn in Hoshino Village, Yame City, Fukuoka Prefecture, I took a break and felt like having something sweet. So, I stopped by what seemed like a cafe-like shop. On the first floor of the shop, there was a souvenir corner and a display of roll cakes. It seems like you can eat on the second floor.
- Roll Cake Set: 750 yen → 500 yen with coffee included as part of the 3rd anniversary renovation commemorative project. Since I couldn't eat the cake, I just ordered coffee.
The matcha roll cake is made with rice flour harvested from local terraced fields, about 2 centimeters thick. It has a rich matcha flavor, moist and chewy, as mentioned by someone. The sweetness is mild and has a refreshing texture. However, I don't trust the comments from the person much as they claim to have poor taste buds. The coffee was a bit weak in flavor.
As I was leaving the shop, I happened to see a poster for soft serve ice cream, even though I was right in front of the inn. I couldn't resist trying it.
- Matcha Soft Serve Ice Cream: 360 yen. The staff generously sprinkled matcha powder on top. The soft and rich matcha flavor was amazing, and I enjoyed it alone.
I had also ordered the following for the next morning:
- Gyokuro Roll Cake: 1500 yen. I picked it up the next morning, but it was frozen, so I had to bring it back. It's best not to eat it semi-thawed, wait until it completely melts before eating it, just like the one in the shop.
I was able to talk to a young pastry chef who was very friendly. He used to work in Fukuoka City but was recruited by the owner of this shop. He mentioned that he is the son of the Imari manju from Imari City, Saga Prefecture. He gave me his business card and asked me to promote the shop. I will definitely visit again.

I went on a drive to Hoshino Village and was drawn to a stylish restaurant at the entrance of an area with hot springs and camping grounds. The first floor had Hoshino's local products for sale, and the second floor and balcony were dining areas. The interior was like a cafe. The menu offered a mix of Japanese and Western dishes. I ordered the Dago soup set, my child had tea udon with duck meat, and my husband ordered carbonara with fresh pasta. The Dago soup was a disappointment, as it looked too elegant and lacked the hearty vegetables and rough-cut Dago that I prefer. The price, over 1000 yen, felt a bit high. The tea udon for my child had a delicious aroma from the grilled duck meat, but the taste of the tea udon and soup had disappeared. However, the duck meat was tasty.

Located in Hoshino Village. We climbed up the mountain road and finally arrived. Although we didn't eat there, they offered tea, honey, ramen, soba flour, and more. The variety of products is abundant, made with local ingredients from Hoshino Village. We bought some souvenirs, tea, honey, and more. There are many tea shops nearby, but this place offers a variety of products which was convenient. This area is also famous for soba, but I also bought udon with tea mixed in.

Delicious! A great selection for those who love traditional Japanese sweets. I grew up in the countryside, just in the next town over, but I still prefer the calm atmosphere. I usually don't like Japanese sweets, but I can eat them here! The matcha roll cake is amazing, seriously delicious. Even my wife was pleased. Being in a rural location, I think the taste is even more enjoyable. I believe the flavors are brought out so well because of the quality of the ingredients. This is definitely a shop I will visit again. I'm sure they will do well.
