★ This cake is a combination of milk chocolate mousse, blackberry confit, and tea brulee wrapped in chocolate dough. It is soft and melts in your mouth. The rich and firm chocolate mousse was delicious. Once you try it, you won't forget its taste. I will definitely order it again next time. Limited-time offer cream puffs were being sold. The pastry was crispy with custard cream inside. It was delicious, but personally, I prefer the double cream puffs available at the Ibaraki store. The pastry had a slightly crunchy texture with a hint of cookie-like taste. Also, the generous amount of cream filling was excellent! ◎

Halloween is finally here. I had to buy this cute-looking Jack-o'-lantern. I didn't have high expectations for the taste because it looked so cute, but I ended up regretting it. When I cut it open, I found chunks of pumpkin inside, and the chocolate, pumpkin paste, and cream were all smooth and delicious. It was small in size, but my son ate a quarter of it and the rest disappeared because it was so tasty.

When my friend was buying a set of half-baked cheese and half-baked chocolate at Petite Prince Kouglof, I was drawn to the melon cake and luxurious strawberry shortcake. But since I had already bought a cheesecake from another store, I gave up on them. That's when I noticed the Sun Sablé cookies. I thought, "Sablé cookies last longer, and..." At that moment, we mistook them for Sun Tower Sablé cookies instead of Sun Sablé cookies. Since my friend likes the Sun Tower, I couldn't resist. Plus, this was near the Expo City close to the Expo Park. So, I thought it might be a good souvenir and impulsively bought two Sun Sablé cookies for 151 yen each. In the end, I ended up eating them myself. Because, well, they weren't Sun Tower cookies after all! 😄

[Birthday Cake] This year, I had plans to visit Expo City, so I chose this shop! It's been a while since I had Petit Plaisir's cake, but I chose the cheesecake and lemon pie. The cheesecake had a nice balance of acidity and was very delicious. The lemon pie had a refreshing lemon flavor and was enjoyable to eat.

I wandered around the entire expo and on my way back to the parking lot, I came across this place at the corner. I took a quick look and saw that they were selling pudding for ¥200. It's quite cheap for a fancy store in the shopping center! This is something my family can afford, especially with the drastic decrease in bonuses due to the pandemic. So, I decided to buy it for dessert. They had a variety of options: half-baked cheese and chocolate for ¥130 each. They were shaped like canelés and were fluffy and delicious. I also tried the fluffy custard cake for ¥100, which was shaped like a sweet potato tart and had a creamy custard filling. Yum! I also bought the Nasu Goyou Egg Custard Pudding for ¥200 to enjoy tomorrow after it has matured in the fridge. I think it's really reasonable considering the location. I'll definitely visit their shop in Joetsu next time to buy some cakes.

As I was strolling around Expo City, I came across something intriguing. An eclair? A stick-shaped bread? It turned out to be neither. When I asked Google, I found out that it's a popular item where custard cream is poured into a crispy dough just before serving. There were a few lines formed, so I decided to wait in line. Each person could buy up to 5 pieces, and most people ordered 4 or 5. It's really popular. They recommended eating it right away, so I bought just one. The price was reasonable, and it's great for eating on the go. True to its reputation, it was delicious and crispy. Thank you for the meal.

This is a shop located in Lalaport EXPOCITY. I saw a line for buying "Calibur" as I passed by, so I got in line out of curiosity. I purchased a "Calibur" for 194 yen. It is a long and thin cream puff. It's quite big. I tried taking a bite like eating ehomaki (a long sushi roll eaten on Setsubun). The choux pastry is crispy and fragrant. Inside, there is custard cream. It's a bit on the sweet side. Overall, it was just a delicious treat.

This is Petit Prince located on the 1st floor of EXPO CITY in Suita City, Osaka. Originally, it seems to be a confectionery shop in Higashiyodogawa-ku, Osaka. The main menu at this shop is the Calibur (tax included 194 yen), so I decided to try it out. The product is a long and narrow eclair pastry filled with plenty of custard cream. It is a simple product, but the softness of the pastry is just right, and the sweetness of the custard cream is just to my liking and delicious. Additionally, the baked cheese tart from COUNTRY MA'AM FACTORY that I bought together with it, and the limited-time kiln-baked Mickey from Morozoff's kiln-baked cheesecake were delicious and good value for money.

I happened to line up at the perfect timing for the second batch of freshly baked goods at 3:00 PM, so I decided to buy some. They recommended eating them right away, so I bought some for immediate consumption and some for later. Both were delicious, but even the ones for later were crispy and tasty enough.

After shopping, I visited the store to try the Galibier that caught my eye. Galibier is only sold at this store and is baked twice a day at 10 am and 3 pm. I arrived around 11:30 am after the first batch was baked at 10 am. There were 2-3 people in line, and more people lined up afterwards. I purchased one Galibier for ¥194. Galibier is basically a stick-shaped cream puff. It is quite large in size with a crunchy choux pastry topped with almonds. It is filled with a rich custard cream with plenty of vanilla beans. The cream is rich, but the pastry is quite thick. It was delicious, but not as good as the cream puffs in Horie. However, I liked the custard cream a lot. The pastry is okay. It reminded me of Beard Papa's cream puffs. Overall, it was a delicious and nostalgic cream puff. I would buy it again. The restaurant is a sister store of Gokan, so they offer similar cakes and baked goods. The desserts are known to be delicious, especially the pudding. Other popular items include baked cheesecake, baked chocolate, double cream puff, and roll cake. I would like to try the Camembert cheesecake and pistachio cake. In terms of baked goods, I am interested in the madeleine and Megumi (sweet potato and chestnut).

In Expo City, there is a shop called "Petit Prince Kugelhopf" (Petit Prince in English, meaning Little Prince). Among the five shops operating in Osaka, this shop offers a limited edition item called "Caliber" only available here. The pastries are baked twice a day, at 10 am and 3 pm. I lined up at 2:53 pm and was the 7th in line, but by 3 pm, there were about 20 people behind me eagerly waiting to buy. It seems everyone is aiming for this special treat. I managed to buy one just in time. It reminded me of a similar treat I had at "Crocus Shoe Zakuzaku" in Ikebukuro before. I compared the two: 1. Dough - Caliber has a crispy croissant-like texture with thin layers stacked on top of each other, while Zakuzaku is made entirely of choux pastry. The dough in Caliber consists of a ratio of 2 parts bread dough to 8 parts choux pastry. The dough is made with Hokkaido milk and butter, coated with almond, sugar, and egg whites, and has a good crunchiness. 2. Custard Cream - Caliber uses Hokkaido milk, Nasu Highland eggs, and Madagascar vanilla for its custard cream, which is thick and firm but smooth on the palate. Zakuzaku also uses Hokkaido milk but has a softer custard cream. Both have a strong vanilla scent and rich cream flavor, not overly sweet. It's a tie in terms of taste. 3. Price - Caliber costs 194 yen (tax included), while Zakuzaku is priced at 250 yen (tax included), making Caliber more affordable. The winner is Caliber for its taste and value for money. In addition to Caliber, the shop offers a variety of colorful cakes, sablés, roll cakes, and Baumkuchen. Next time, I would like to try the Kugelhopf, a traditional Alsatian pastry from the south of France, which is also the namesake of the shop.

I visited Petit Plaisir right after Expo City opened and it was very crowded, so finding a cafe where you can relax is valuable. Petit Plaisir seems to be a well-established cafe with several branches nearby. I love layered cakes, so I chose the pistachio mousse cake. It came with ice cream and was delicious.

There is a Western confectionery shop near the Orange Side Entrance of Expo City. They also have a café inside with a French-like atmosphere. The service seemed a bit inexperienced. I ordered a Mont Blanc and hot tea set for 972 yen. The Mont Blanc had whole chestnuts inside and a layer of pie crust at the bottom, which was delicious. The tea was also good.

I wanted to buy the Gulliver cream puff before, but the line was so long, so I bought a melon cake instead. It was incredibly delicious.
