I'm curious about the addictive curry that's been talked about, so I went to check it out. The place is a 5-minute walk from Ogimachi Station. The original Mapo Curry specialty store, Mabokari Higashi Umeda, has a takeout corner as well. There are 4 four-person tables and 4 counter seats. The menu has options for spiciness and toppings. Spiciness levels range from Standard to Magma, with an additional charge for higher levels. The menu includes: 1. Katsu-tama Mapo Curry - 1280 yen, featuring a special hand-prepared chicken cutlet and a unique egg yolk topping. 2. Mapo Curry - 880 yen, a fusion of Mapo tofu and Western-style curry. 3. Authentic Mapo Tofu - 880 yen, Sichuan-style Mapo tofu with the fragrance of Sichuan pepper. I chose the most popular item, Katsu-tama Mapo Curry with a spice level of 2, for a total of 1480 yen. I added grilled cheese and jalapeno toppings for an extra 200 yen each. The curry looked spicy with red spices sprinkled on top, and my level 2 spice seemed pretty hot. I enjoy the spiciness of chili peppers, so I'm looking forward to it. The crispy chicken cutlet is drizzled with tonkatsu sauce and eaten together. The harmony of curry spices and Sichuan pepper in the Mapo tofu is indeed addictive, with a mysterious combination. The special egg helps to mellow out the spiciness a bit, but level 2 is still hot (laughs). The mouth is busy with flavors, but the crispy cutlet is delicious, and Mapo curry is indeed addictive. I also had a Mango Lassi for 350 yen, which was a nice blend of mango and yogurt that helped soothe the spiciness in my mouth. This unique Mapo curry is sure to captivate curry lovers, and I will definitely come back for more.

I visited the "Original Spicy Mapo Curry Specialty Store Mabokari Umeda Higashi Store" on a certain weekday in August 2023, after 6:00 PM. Located about a 5-minute walk from Ogimachi Station, the not-so-spacious interior had no other customers at the time. I sat at the counter and ordered the "Katsu-Tama Mapo Curry" for ¥1,280 with an additional level of spiciness for ¥100. The restaurant seemed to have a lot of delivery and takeout orders, as delivery drivers were constantly coming in to pick up orders. After a 10-minute wait, the dish was served. It was a large plate of Mapo Curry Rice topped with a breaded cutlet and a raw egg yolk. The dish was generously sprinkled with red chili peppers, giving it a strong red color. I prepared to eat by adding plenty of red Fukujinzuke (pickles) from the table. The Mapo Curry, filled with tofu and minced meat, had a junky flavor that paired perfectly with the rice. Breaking the raw egg yolk and eating it with the Mapo Curry Rice was delightful. The mellow taste complemented the stimulating Mapo Curry well. The flavors of chili peppers and Sichuan peppercorns were just right. The cutlet could be enjoyed by eating it with the Mapo Curry or by adding the sauce provided on the table. I personally preferred eating it with the rich sauce poured over the curry rice. The Fukujinzuke paired well with the stimulating Mapo Curry. The pleasant texture and sweetness added a nice touch to the junky curry. Balancing between the cutlet and Mapo Curry Rice, I savored each bite. When I combined the sauced cutlet, egg yolk, and Mapo Curry Rice in my mouth, a taste of happiness spread. Although I wished the spiciness could be stronger, I was satisfied with the stimulating flavors. I would definitely want to visit Mabokari again in Umeda Higashi.

It's a curry that you can't even imagine, yet also like mapo tofu. It's a completely new genre. The perfect balance that only those who have tasted it would understand. The spiciness is just right, and the numbing sensation is addictive! And the topping of chicken cutlet is absolutely delicious! The atmosphere of the staff is also excellent! This is Mapo Curry, Mabo Curry!!!

I visited around 11:40 am on a regular day. There were no other customers. The shop was new and clean. A woman was running the operation alone. I ordered the Mapo Curry with normal spiciness for 880 yen including tax. It was served in about 5 minutes. The portion of rice was about 200g. The Mapo Curry had a generous amount of sauce and was quite spicy despite being normal spiciness, with a slight numbing sensation. It tasted like authentic Mapo Tofu, with very little curry elements. It was quite delicious, so it was not an issue. I am curious to try their other authentic Mapo Tofu. If I crave Sichuan-style Mapo Tofu, I would like to visit this shop. You can also participate in a lottery to receive toppings or a drink by becoming LINE friends.

It was lunchtime, but it wasn't crowded, so I decided to try Mabokari for the first time. When the curry arrived, I was worried it might be too spicy, but it had a flavorful spiciness that was delicious. Despite there being many curry restaurants nearby, I could see why this place has regular customers. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant.

A new curry restaurant opened at the Umeda Kamiyama intersection. The sign advertises a unique combination of Mapo Tofu and curry. The stylish interior features the words "Addictive Curry" on the sign. I ordered the "Katsu-Tama Mapo Curry Level 1" and experienced a spicy blend of Mapo Tofu and curry.

This shop, which I think was recently opened in Higashi Umeda, caught my eye and I finally decided to visit after passing by a few times. There were no other customers inside. The interior was unified in gray, giving off a modern and stylish yet clean atmosphere. I ordered the "Mapo Curry for 880 yen." I was recommended the one with chicken, but I wasn't in the mood for something too heavy, so I chose this one. The curry arrived quickly. It was visually appealing with a simple yet spicy flavor. Since I love mapo tofu, the taste was exactly as I imagined and it was delicious. The spices gave a nice kick, making it addictive and I felt like I could eat as much as I wanted. Next time, I want to try the authentic mapo tofu.

I went to Mabokali in Higashi Umeda with my girlfriends at night. It's a place that you can walk to from both Higashi Umeda and Ogimachi. We always order the same menu item: Katsu-Tama Mapo Curry for 1280 yen. It's a must-try dish. We like to customize the toppings based on our mood that day. This time, we added fried eggplant for 200 yen and cilantro for 200 yen. We love this combination. The curry comes with an egg when you order Katsu-Tama, and it goes really well together. It's rare to find a curry that combines mapo and curry flavors. We keep coming back for this unique dish. My friend ordered fried eggplant and cheese as toppings, which made the taste milder. This is our favorite restaurant where we go every month to enjoy the same menu.

I stopped by on my way home from work because I felt like eating. I'm happy that I can walk here from Umeda. This time, I topped it with fried eggplant and cheese! The fried eggplant was so delicious last time, so I'm repeating it. I'm not good with spicy food, so I chose the lowest level of spiciness, but it was too delicious! Thank you for the meal! I will come again!

The addictive curry that everyone is talking about in the shop caught my attention! The staff even had it printed on their T-shirts, which was quite amusing. I had tried it once in Namba before and couldn't forget it, so when I heard there was a branch in Umeda, I had to go check it out. The Umeda branch, which seemed new and clean with a predominantly white theme, is located in a competitive area filled with curry shops. When I visited, there were two female staff members running the place. The menu is simple and easy to understand, making it welcoming for solo female diners like myself. The popular dishes include the Katsu-Tama Mapo Curry, the authentic Sichuan Spicy Mapo Curry, and the authentic Mapo Tofu (served with rice). There are optional add-ons available for each dish. As someone who doesn't like spicy food but enjoys tofu, I opted for the signature Katsu-Tama Mapo Curry, which was milder with the addition of egg and had a gentle touch with the pork cutlet. Whether you receive curry or mapo tofu first is a surprise, making the dining experience more enjoyable. I believe it's worth trying at least once, and you can also get your order to go.

During the hot summer season, I visited the original Ma Po Curry specialty store, Mabokari Mukonosho store, and tried the Katsu Tama Ma Po Curry for 1280 yen (tax included) and the Mango Lassi for 350 yen (tax included). It was delicious, so this time I visited the store in Higashi Umeda. I had the Ma Po Curry for 880 yen (with an additional 200 yen for cheese topping), the Ma Po Tofu for 880 yen (with an additional 200 yen for eggplant topping), and the Mango Lassi for 350 yen. The Ma Po Curry is a unique dish that combines Ma Po Tofu and Western-style curry. Each ingredient like Sichuan pepper, tofu, minced meat, garlic sprouts, and green onions can be tasted individually, resulting in a complex and hybrid deliciousness. The spiciness, the mildness of the tofu and cheese topping, create a deep and enjoyable flavor. The Ma Po Tofu comes with rice and the addition of eggplant topping allows for a fun way to enjoy it like Ma Po Eggplant. The freshly fried eggplant is simple but incredibly delicious and pairs perfectly with the Ma Po Tofu. It's truly addictive! When eaten during the cold winter season, it warms the body gradually and leaves you feeling refreshed. The Mango Lassi stands out with its rich and creamy texture, making it a perfect drink to accompany the curry and Ma Po Tofu. The spoon, shaped like a ladle, is very easy to use. The prices mentioned are all inclusive of tax. The restaurant is easily identifiable by its red signage and the modern and stylish interior design allows for a relaxing dining experience.

I finally went to the restaurant that I often see on SNS and wanted to try their mapo tofu curry. The nearest station is Subway Ogimachi, but it is also within walking distance from Umeda. The restaurant is located along a main street, so it was easy to find. I ordered the Katsu-tama mapo tofu curry with cilantro topping, with a spice level of 1. After a while, the dish arrived, and it looked great, which got me really excited. The first bite of the mapo tofu curry was delicious, with a perfect balance of spiciness and sweetness. Mixing in the egg yolk made it even smoother. The chicken cutlet was voluminous but light and crispy, making it enjoyable to dip in the curry or eat with the sauce. I thought the portion might be too much, but I finished it all. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I love this place and visit a different location of Mabokali every month. The interior is beautiful and it's a popular spot for women too. Both of us are fans of Mabokali. They offer drinks like beer and lassi. The most popular dish is the Katsu Tama Mabo Curry for 1280 yen, with an additional 200 yen for coriander and 200 yen for fried eggplant. We ordered it with medium spiciness and it was really delicious. The combination of mabo, curry, large chicken cutlet, and egg is a must-try. Once you try it, you'll want to eat it again. If you like spicy food, they can make it even spicier for you. Adding cheese on top makes it even creamier. I eat the Katsu Tama Mabo Curry at a different Mabokali location every month.

I have been to a restaurant in Murotsu no Sho before, but I found out that I can also eat at the Umeda branch. I went there for lunch and tried the Katsu Tamamabo curry with toppings of coriander and fried eggplant! The softness of the fried eggplant, the aroma of coriander, and the curry create an exquisite taste. It was delicious! I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Addictive rumor curry, last time I ate at the Namba main store, and this time at the Higashi Umeda store ♡ The popular No.1 menu, Pork Cutlet and Egg Katsu-Tama Mapo Curry ♡ Topped with seared cheese and cilantro!! Last time it was super spicy at level 2, so this time I went with standard and it was just the right amount of spicy. The authentic mapo tofu was delicious as always. While sipping on mango lassi, spicy~sweet~spicy~sweet~you can keep eating forever!! The super cute smiles of the two staff members also warmed my heart and left my stomach completely satisfied!! Thank you for the meal.

This June, a rumored addictive curry spot opened, specializing in Mapo Curry. The cafe-style urban modern exterior, with retro fonts and an unbalanced charm, surprisingly comes together harmoniously. The glass interior lets in gentle sunlight, with metallic furniture and greenery creating a cool, industrial space. It leads you into a nostalgic time of relaxation. From the counter, you can watch the rhythmic creation of curry, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Katsu-Tama Mapo Curry with crispy chicken katsu, mapo curry, and egg yolk is a perfect match. Mixing in the sauce and pickles on the table makes it milder for those who don't like spicy food. The coriander topping adds a refreshing touch, perfect for summer. The Mapo Curry with fried eggplant, coriander, and cheese topping is rich and flavorful. The rice is fluffy and shiny. The curry is constantly evolving, with no compromises, showing a relentless pursuit of improvement. The spiciness can be adjusted in three levels, expanding the deep world of curry. Takeout is also available, with microwave-safe containers. By adding the restaurant on Line for exclusive offers and information.

I had been to the main branch of Ura Namba before, so I knew about this new store and decided to visit. The combination of authentic Sichuan mapo tofu and delicious sweet and spicy Western-style curry is called Mabo Kari. I love the taste of sansho pepper, so I was happy with this combination. As a seasoned customer, I chose the normal level of spiciness and added seared cheese and eggplant as toppings. It was very satisfying to eat! During lunchtime, there were many salarymen and male customers who came for lunch break, and it seems like their delivery service is also popular. There were two cute female staff members who were working hard, managing the place with a smile even when it was busy. It left a good impression on me, and it was nice to see them working happily together. I wish I could work like that too. The crispy cutlet, tender eggplant, and mango lassi drink did a great job of balancing out the spiciness. It was delicious! I will definitely go back again. ❤️

I heard that the proud "Mabokari" that opened in the local area of Mukonosho has also opened in Umeda. It is located not far from Senba Park and Tenjinbashi-Suji Shopping Street, and is also close to Kitano Hospital and Higashidori Shopping Street. On my second visit, I ordered the "Katsutama Mabo Curry for 1,280 yen" and added toppings of "Grilled Cheese for 200 yen" and "Fried Eggplant for 200 yen". The chicken cutlet felt even softer this time. Moving from my beloved curry flavor to the area of mapo tofu, I could taste the authentic spiciness with the hint of sansho pepper. I was so engrossed in mixing the egg that I forgot about the joy of eating the Fukujin pickles in the restaurant. Next time, I might go for the "Large Rice for 100 yen". Even though I usually only make individual items like curry, mapo tofu, and chicken cutlet at home, having them all on one plate felt truly luxurious. For dessert, I ordered the "Mango Lassi for 350 yen" as my usual choice. The staff are friendly, and if it's not too crowded, they let you relax and enjoy your meal. I look forward to seeing where "Mabokari" will open next and where I can enjoy it next time.

I went to Mabokari in Namba, which I had visited before, and also to the one in Umeda. The Umeda store has table seats and is spacious. You can enjoy everyone's favorite combination of mapo tofu and curry rice for 880 yen. I tried the most popular Mabokari specialty, the Katsu-tama Mapo Curry for 1280 yen, which comes with chicken cutlet and a topping of egg yolk. You can also add grilled cheese for an additional 200 yen. The rice portion is a bit small, but the freshly fried chicken cutlet with homemade seasoning was delicious. The cheese and mapo curry complement each other well. I topped it with the Fukujin pickles on the table, and the combination was perfect, making it even more delicious. After the meal, I had a mango lassi for 350 yen, which helped to balance out the curry's aftertaste. It was like a dessert and very tasty.
