Directly connected to Kintetsu Osaka Uehommachi Station, and also close to Subway Tanamachi Kyuchome Station. Inside the Kintetsu Department Store Uehommachi on the B2F, there is a small food court located a bit further in from the underground concourse of the department store, featuring eateries like 551 Horai, Ringer Hut, Takoyaki Kukuru, and a sushi restaurant. Among these, a specialty store for Beefsteak Don opened on December 5, 2018, in a space that used to be a curry shop. The interior has completely changed and expanded, with a total of 16 counter seats in a bright and clean setting. The menu includes four main options: Black Prime Beefsteak Don "Fuku" (980 yen), Black Prime Beefsteak Don "Daifuku" (1,280 yen), Black Prime Beefsteak Don and Domestic Beef Sirloin Sukiyaki Don "Gomori" (1,580 yen), and Black Prime Beefsteak Don and Extra Tender Thick Cut Beef Tongue Don "Gomori" (1,580 yen). Additional sauces are available, such as Green Onion Salt Lemon Sauce and Garlic Soy Sauce (each 180 yen). During my first visit, I tried the most standard option, the Black Prime Beefsteak Don "Fuku". The beef slices were grilled right in front of me in the kitchen and served. The meal comes with a box of beef slices covering the rice, a clear soup, and cabbage pickles. The meat is a combination of steak slices and thinly sliced grilled meat, placed on a bed of rice with thinly sliced onions and salt sauce. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, melting in my mouth. The salt sauce was subtle, enhancing the meat's natural taste. If you want more flavor, you can add the provided mustard or wasabi. The clear soup was savory and slightly sweet, with watercress, fish cakes, and white dumplings. The cabbage pickles had a mild acidity and a crunchy texture. The only downside was that the rice was warm, and the onions were slightly undercooked. However, these were minor issues. Overall, the meal was priced below 1,000 yen, offering good value for money. Despite the quiet atmosphere inside the restaurant, the continuous stream of takeout orders suggests that this place is becoming popular.
