It's hot today, with temperatures reaching close to 20°C (laughs), so I don't feel like walking too much. I'll be wandering around the area near Sapporo Station without taking any detours to Susukino or elsewhere. Since I'm on my way to work, I don't have much time to spare. The north exit of Sapporo Station is a bit narrow due to the extension work for the Sapporo Shinkansen, which has led to the closure of the Paradise area next to the north side exits of the east and west concourses. I wonder where all the people who used to relax there have gone. The Paradise area with a waterfall in the middle of Asti 45 has also been closed down. So, I decided to visit a place located on the north side of the Sapporo Chiyoda Building, just around the corner from Yodobashi Camera at the west exit of Sapporo Station. The bright orange storefront with a sign is easy to spot. This place doesn't operate on a ticket system, instead, the floor attendant, a young female staff member, left a note saying, "Please call me when you're ready to order." She also mentioned that the daily special set meal is written on the blackboard. As I was checking the official website of the operating company for the menu, I was thinking, "I want to try the Ham Cutlet Set Meal for 690 yen..." However, the menu displayed in the restaurant did not include the Ham Cutlet Set Meal. The Mixed Fry Set Meal on the website consists of Ham, Shrimp, and Oyster Fries for 820 yen, but the one written on the blackboard is Big Shrimp, Minced Cutlet, and Oyster for 880 yen. I couldn't find the Ham Cutlet I was craving for... Maybe the price of ham has gone up, making it difficult to offer as part of a set meal? I decided to go for the Mixed Fry Set Meal, which seemed like a good choice for today. The restaurant is quite spacious, with counter seats and individual seats with partitions at the back. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, served on large plates. The Menchi Katsu was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the Kaki Fry tasted delicious with the tartar sauce. The Big Shrimp was decent, although the filling was not as expected. The store-bought Bulldog Tonkatsu Sauce complemented the dishes well. However, compared to the restaurant near Sapporo Station Grand Hotel that offers free rice and miso soup refills, the feeling of fullness was lacking. I bought some black oolong tea on my way to work and drank it on the subway. I might try the Fried Mackerel Set Meal next time. Thank you for the meal.
