I visited the chicken restaurant Nagahama in Sasaguri at some point, about 10 years ago. The prices seem to have gone up since then. It looks like they don't offer chicken liver anymore, but instead have increased the amount of chicken meat. I don't remember being particularly impressed by the taste when I had it back then.

All-you-can-eat is 1300 yen! I think it's a good deal. You can also get refills of rice. The inside of the restaurant is very smoky, so you will smell like smoke all over. Not recommended before going out. The paper apron is also covered in oil splatters. LOL

This is a chicken restaurant located along the Fukuoka Sasaguri Line. Here, you can enjoy fresh chicken dishes using a lava plate. I had lunch here along the prefectural road in Sasaguri on this day. The restaurant had table seats and a raised tatami area, and I chose to sit in the tatami area for lunch. I ordered the Chicken Set Meal for 1,000 yen from the lunch menu. Once I placed my order, the staff lit the plate on fire for me. The Chicken Set Meal includes 150g of diced native chicken meat and a set of vegetables. The rice served with miso soup was barley rice, and you could ask for a refill. Grilling the meat on the lava plate brings out the sweet flavor of the well-marbled chicken meat, making it very delicious. It is cooked with far-infrared rays, so it is less likely to burn and has a different taste from charcoal grilling. The restaurant is located along Prefectural Route 607. There is an all-you-can-eat option that is perfect for big eaters. I tried the most popular set meal. The local chicken was incredibly delicious! You can have unlimited rice! There are also pickles on the table, and kimchi tastes great when grilled.

The first customers seemed to be a group of well-built men, possibly for some kind of launch event. It was a lively atmosphere that I hadn't experienced in a long time due to the long period of the coronavirus. I ordered the Lava Grill Set Meal (with rice and miso soup) for 1,200 yen per person, and also ordered chicken thigh cuts, rice, and miso soup separately. The kimchi and pickled vegetables on the table were complimentary. I accidentally started grilling all the ingredients together, but I learned that the proper way is to first grill the meat and then cook the vegetables in the oil that comes out. You can enjoy it with sauce, salt and pepper, or rock salt. The chicken had a unique texture typical of local chicken. It's a good price for those who love local chicken.

There is a new restaurant called "Jidori Shokudo" along the main street in Shinorugi. The menu includes a popular dish of young chicken grilled on a hot stone for 1100 yen. I ordered a dish of chicken thigh for 850 yen. The young chicken thigh was tender, while the chicken thigh had a good chewy texture. I personally prefer the chicken thigh. I enjoyed it with a glass of beer and some kimchi. The set includes barley rice and miso soup, which I think is a good deal.

I arrived 10 minutes before opening and parked in the small parking lot in front of the restaurant. The restaurant has only a few parking spaces. I ordered the all-you-can-eat option and started with young chicken, adult chicken, assorted vegetables, miso soup, and rice. There were plenty of sauces to choose from. We really liked the texture of the adult chicken, so we kept ordering more of it. They cook the food right in front of you, so there's a lot of oil and a strong smell. I recommend going on a day when you have no plans in the afternoon. I would love to go again.
