I want to eat katsu curry! It has always been my favorite, but a few days ago, after seeing a series of reviews from MyRebi-sama, I developed a serious case of "I want to eat katsu curry syndrome". I decided to go to a pork cutlet restaurant to satisfy my craving, but either the place was crowded or closed, so my treatment failed. I reluctantly settled for Sri Lankan curry while admiring a beautiful lady, but it was just a temporary fix and the illness returned. So, I decided to visit "Chizuru" in Otoarai-machi, Mitsui-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture. I arrived at the restaurant at 10:50 a.m., hoping to be the first customer, but they were already open. I was seated by a curry-like lady and shown the menu. I almost blurted out "mutton curry and naan", but since it was a pork cutlet place, I refrained. "I'll have the katsu curry, please." With that, my order was placed. Since it's a pork cutlet place, they probably won't serve dal curry or nasi goreng. Where are all the Japanese part-time workers at convenience stores and restaurants? They seem to offer pickles as a service, but that's expected from a curry place, right? The katsu curry set arrived. A set meal only comes with a salad, which was just shredded cabbage with a little seaweed on top. The dressing was also lacking. Come on, put in a little more effort! I'll eat the katsu curry. The pork cutlet was thick and tender, as expected from a pork cutlet place, and the meat itself was delicious. The curry was tasty and easy to eat, resembling the curry from a Western-style restaurant, but the spices accumulated as I finished eating, making it spicy. It was delicious, but I wanted a little more. I wonder if they offer a larger portion? What exactly is the definition of a set meal? If you're going to include a salad, at least give us a better one! Mixing the cabbage from the pork cutlet side dish with the seaweed from the miso soup, and not even properly dressing the salad, are they mocking the customers? I was about 70% satisfied with the katsu curry alone, but looking back, it was an unpleasant lunch. Thank you for the meal. My frustration lies here.
