The dumplings here are wrapped after receiving the order, so the skin is chewy and the filling is moist and delicious. Surprisingly, this is not a dumpling specialty store, but a food stall. Located in Fukuoka, just north of Tenjin, in front of the Bank of Japan Fukuoka Branch. This stall has been loved by regular customers for decades. The specialty here is, of course, the dumplings. A plate of 8 small dumplings, typical of Fukuoka, costs 450 yen. Although it may seem expensive based on the quantity, it doesn't feel that way when you actually taste it. The dumplings are easy to eat and go well with drinks. The ramen also has a deliciously thick tonkotsu soup. The oden is average in Fukuoka (decently tasty), and the yakitori, despite being cheap, has large pieces and is well grilled. The pork belly and skin, as well as the chicken thigh meat called "yotsumi" here, are all delicious. The pork kimchi, which has become popular in Japan recently, originated from northern Kyushu. The combination of the sweetness of pork fat and the spiciness and acidity of kimchi is excellent. This small food stall run by a couple in their late fifties is loved not only by tourists but also by regular customers, giving off a warm atmosphere. A beer, a bottle of shochu with hot water, two plates of dumplings, one side dish, and ramen for less than 3,000 yen provide a satisfying experience. Occasionally, the smell of the wife's makeup might linger on drinks like shochu with hot water, but this warm and affordable food stall is worth a visit. Definitely check it out.

Fukuoka last night. Today, I went to the food stall "Chusuke" from early in the evening. This stall was introduced on the TV show "Take me to the best restaurant, taxi driver!" First, I had a beer in a tumbler that keeps the temperature from dropping easily. The stall seems to have made progress in global warming prevention. I ordered gyoza. The gyoza is wrapped after the order is placed. It's delicious gyoza, typical of Fukuoka. I also had horumon, which is full of beef intestines. It's a good deal at 750 yen for so much horumon. It's a solid food stall loved by locals. Koneko To Issho Project https://konekotoissho.blog.jp/

It's been about 20 years since I had a drinking party in Nakasu! When it comes to wrapping up, it has to be at a food stall, right? Following the instructions of the elder sister I used to drink with, we took a taxi to Tadazu in Tenjin! Well, we were drinking in Nakasu, so why not go to a food stall in Nakasu?! But that reasoning didn't work with my sister. Personally, it's been about 20 years since I visited a food stall in Hakata. Locals may not go to food stalls that often? Now, as for this restaurant, we started with a cheers with horumon (offal)! We quickly became friendly with the people next to us! The couple sitting on the right came from Hyogo and are enjoying Hakata gourmet food before heading back tomorrow, so I recommended them to try Gobo Tempura Udon when they come to Hakata! Tadazu's tonkotsu ramen has a delicious taste that is somehow different from tonkotsu ramen from other places. I had a chat about ramen with the two girls from Kumamoto sitting on the left who came to watch the Hawks game. I always had the impression that food stalls were expensive, but the prices here are reasonable. The gyoza seems to be popular, so I must try it next time! When that will be, who knows!

I wasn't a fan of the food stalls in Nakasu, but I managed to overcome it (lol) This is my second stop (^_^) The oden was of course delicious, and the tonbeyaki was surprisingly authentic and impressive! I didn't expect the food stalls to be this good! It's crowded so you can't stay for long, but I enjoyed Nakasu (^_^)

On a certain day in March 2022, first day in Hakata. After being taken care of by Kajishika-san for the second night, I had actually planned to go to that food stall that I always visit when in Hakata, but it was closed tonight ( ºДº)/ Oh well, I had no choice but to go to another food stall that I had bookmarked, "Yatai Chuusuke"♪ I love food stalls so much! ε=ε=(۶⊙∀⊙)۶ It's easy to make friends with the regular customers next to me in no time haha. The temperature was around 18°C even at night, making it quite comfortable to spend time outside. Now, here's what I ordered today: - Asahi beer (medium bottle) 580 yen - Gyoza (dumplings) 450 yen - Dango (rice dumplings) 120 yen x2 - Fried sardines 130 yen - Konjac 130 yen You can order yakitori from 2 sticks, but for solo diners, they can grill just 1 stick... I love that♡ And the gyoza is so delicious (๑´༥`๑) Yummy! They wrap it up fresh each time!! You can eat as many as you want of these♪ The dango (meatballs) are cheap, big in size, and have a nostalgic flavor that makes you want more♪ The oden has a deeply infused broth, so gentle and... I love it♡ The customers at this food stall are mainly locals, so the atmosphere is really nice. I'm sure many people are fans of the kind couple running the stall (´-ω-) Hmm. I'll definitely come back for some delicious gyoza again! Thank you for the meal!

Fukuoka nights are best enjoyed at the food stalls! The food and drinks are delicious, but what really makes it special is being able to easily chat with strangers and feel grateful for being alive. This particular stall is run by a friendly couple - the father works diligently while the mother interacts with customers. It was amazing. Fukuoka nights are definitely all about the food stalls! Thank you for the meal!

It's been a while since I visited a food stall in Nakasu. Worried that there might not be many open shops due to the rainy weather, I cautiously walked around. Among the many stalls, I decided to go to a shop with a sign for Hakata Gyoza because I was craving it tonight. I ordered two servings of gyoza. They make the gyoza by wrapping the ingredients by hand, so it takes a little time to prepare. While waiting, I ordered oden and hot sake. The oden had the usual daikon radish, tofu, and a unique ingredient called Gyoza Maki, which is like a gyoza roll wrapped in fish cake. Next, I had grilled chicken with salt and thigh meat. At first, I was thinking of leaving early due to the draft and leaky roof, but things changed around this point, and I ordered another round of hot sake. After that, I ordered yakisoba, which tasted just like home-cooked food. It had a comforting taste for some reason. And of course, I had to finish with Hakata Ramen! It's been years since I had ramen with 100% pork bone broth... I was truly moved for a moment dining alone. After paying the bill, despite the rain, the landlady came out to see me off. The customers inside were mostly regulars, other than us. With the meticulous work of the master and the caring nature of the landlady, I'm sure this Chusuke will continue to thrive!

When you come to Fukuoka, you have to visit an outdoor food stall! I did some research beforehand and chose this stall for our second stop. They open from 6pm, not too far from the first place we visited. The stall was still setting up when we arrived, but we asked if we could sit down after 6pm and they welcomed us. It seemed like a husband and wife team running the stall. They had a fan set up, which was a lifesaver in the scorching heat. Since I can't drink alcohol, I ordered a non-alcoholic beer and my companion had a bottled beer. The beer was served in a stainless steel tumbler, which was a nice touch. We started with some gyoza and stir-fried bean sprouts, followed by skewers of chicken and chicken skin. The gyoza arrived first, crispy and delicious. The skewers were next, perfectly grilled and tasty. It was a bit challenging to eat in the cramped stall, though. The stir-fried bean sprouts were well-seasoned and enjoyable. We ended our meal with some boiled eggs and daikon radish in oden. The prices were reasonable and we were able to enjoy our meal without it getting too crowded. Fukuoka's outdoor food stalls are definitely worth a visit!

This is also a recommended restaurant by a friend. It may not be fancy, but it has a lot of character... The old-fashioned counter... I love it! For someone like me who loves this kind of place, it's the best! It somehow feels nostalgic and a bit sentimental... You can feel the love in the food they serve. Everything is delicious, but the oden was amazing! The ingredients are well seasoned... it goes well with drinks. Interestingly, all the other customers were ordering gyoza. I definitely want to visit this place again when I'm nearby! Thank you for the meal!

Satisfied and slightly tipsy, I wandered through the food stalls in Nakasu. The night breeze was delightful, and the bustling atmosphere of the stalls added to the unique charm of the area. However, the noise became overwhelming, so I decided to explore further. I came across a quieter stall with some empty seats and decided to sit down. I ordered some oden with konjac noodles and tofu, as well as some sweet potato shochu. Despite the lively laughter of the other customers, I found a sense of peace as I enjoyed some dumplings, sausages, pork belly, grilled skewers, and soba shochu. It was a comforting experience, and I even found myself daydreaming about living in this unknown place. The night in Fukuoka continued to deepen...

After leaving the food stalls in Nakasu, I wandered towards Tenjin to find the next stall and also to cool down from the drinks. In the Tenjin area, there are scattered food stalls, and I happened to stop by this one that was available. This stall is run by a kind master and what seems to be his wife. It doesn't feel exclusive at all, and even first-time visitors or women alone can enter without any hesitation. The menu is wide-ranging, which is nice. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the choices. I started with a bottle of beer and an order of dumplings (450 yen). The dumplings come in a serving of 10 bite-sized pieces for one person. They are perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with plenty of meat, very delicious. I also ordered a few items of oden. The gentle bonito broth was flavorful, and it was also delicious. It seems perfect for the upcoming cold season. I had a little chat with the regular customers and then settled the bill. Perhaps it's the personality of the master, but the regular customers seemed nice, making it a comfortable and good restaurant experience.

This was my first time visiting a food stall in Fukuoka. I heard that touristy areas tend to overcharge, so I decided to try a place with fewer shops, and chose this one. When I entered, I saw an equal mix of regulars and tourists. Compared to a certain famous shop across the street that was featured on TV, this place had fewer customers, but I could easily walk in without waiting in line. The menu had a variety of options, from skewers to oden and gyoza. Since I wanted to try a few places, I ordered skewers and oden. I wasn't a big fan of oden, but the oden here was delicious. I always thought oden at a food stall was something from a TV show, so it was a valuable experience. The skewers were seasoned with salt and tasted good, though not exceptional. Considering the environment of a food stall, I think the quality is quite high. I was impressed by the variety of dishes offered at a food stall. The owner and the lady in charge were friendly, and the atmosphere with other customers was pleasant, making it a great place to enjoy a drink. Even beginners can feel comfortable walking in.

In front of the Bank of Japan Fukuoka Branch, there is a place called "Chusuke" and "Aya". It's a nice and casual place to have a drink or a bowl of ramen after work. They offer a variety of dishes from grilled items to oden and stir-fries, making it suitable for individuals or small groups. The liver and leek dish is a great side dish with a flavorful sauce. Now, onto the ramen. However, there was a bothersome burnt smell. Perhaps they used too much dried fish, but the reason is unknown. It was a bit disappointing.

Dining and content: Drinking at a famous food stall in Hakata ~ Near the Bank of Japan and Fukuoka Central Post Office, a young colleague who eagerly wants to visit again, so I'm happy to be invited. It's been a while since we last met. A slightly reserved master and a lively hostess. We enjoyed dishes such as oden, yakitori, gyoza, and leek and egg topping, as well as ramen, a staple of food stalls. The oden with tender daikon warms you up. The broth is light, suitable for older people. The yakitori, with items like gizzards and chicken skin, had a mild saltiness. If you order three servings of gyoza, there is a small discount. Tonight, gyoza for takeout was also popular. The master was busy wrapping the fillings after ordering. The gyoza was crispy and had a mild flavor, in a refined and small size that you can easily eat up. We ended up drinking a bit too much while enjoying the gyoza. I thought about skipping dessert for the sake of my health, but ended up having ramen anyway. It was a refreshing type, which was good. Or was it? I pondered the same thing as last time. Thank you, Stall Chuusuke!

When the cold days continue, you feel like drinking hot sake, right? That's why we came to the street stall Tadakichi in front of the Bank of Japan. It is run by a beautiful couple, making it very welcoming for women to enter alone. This time, my husband and I came together. First, we ordered gyoza (dumplings). Here, when you order gyoza, the master will wrap the filling in the skin right in front of you. The taste is juicy yet refreshing, with small gyoza in the Hakata style. On cold days, oden is also good, with flavors soaked into radish, egg, and various items. Hormone stir-fry and liver with leeks are also delicious, with tender meat that makes you want to drink just from the aroma. Finally, of course, we must have ramen. It's tonkotsu (pork bone broth) but without any unpleasant smell, so it's good even after drinking!
