The dumplings here are wrapped after receiving the order, so the skin is chewy and the filling is moist and delicious. Surprisingly, this is not a dumpling specialty store, but a food stall. Located in Fukuoka, just north of Tenjin, in front of the Bank of Japan Fukuoka Branch. This stall has been loved by regular customers for decades. The specialty here is, of course, the dumplings. A plate of 8 small dumplings, typical of Fukuoka, costs 450 yen. Although it may seem expensive based on the quantity, it doesn't feel that way when you actually taste it. The dumplings are easy to eat and go well with drinks. The ramen also has a deliciously thick tonkotsu soup. The oden is average in Fukuoka (decently tasty), and the yakitori, despite being cheap, has large pieces and is well grilled. The pork belly and skin, as well as the chicken thigh meat called "yotsumi" here, are all delicious. The pork kimchi, which has become popular in Japan recently, originated from northern Kyushu. The combination of the sweetness of pork fat and the spiciness and acidity of kimchi is excellent. This small food stall run by a couple in their late fifties is loved not only by tourists but also by regular customers, giving off a warm atmosphere. A beer, a bottle of shochu with hot water, two plates of dumplings, one side dish, and ramen for less than 3,000 yen provide a satisfying experience. Occasionally, the smell of the wife's makeup might linger on drinks like shochu with hot water, but this warm and affordable food stall is worth a visit. Definitely check it out.
