Today's bread is from the CafedeClever Cafe de Clever South Gate store in Osaka, Umeda. A cafe located inside JR Osaka Station. I stopped by after work because I was feeling a bit hungry. Well, it's a self-service cafe geared towards salarymen. And it seems to be more geared towards older male salarymen. I tried the following: 16cm Long Sausage Cheese Dog & Drink Set (630 yen) It's labeled as a "limited gourmet menu only available in summer." But wait, what does "16cm" mean? What is the origin of that? It's not the 16th day, not the 16th month, not the 16th year, not the 16th floor... What is it?? As for the atmosphere inside the cafe, it is completely smoke-free, but there is still a slight smell of cigarettes. Maybe it's a remnant from when smoking was allowed inside? Now, onto the food. The 16cm size, upon closer inspection, is not really that big, it's just a regular hot dog with cheese on top. Hmm... I feel like I've been tricked. The taste is just average. By the time I finished eating, I regretted not choosing something else. They also serve a ham and egg sandwich. Well, it may not look exactly like the picture. The storefront looks nice. And the parfaits are quite affordable.

On April 16, Reiwa 4 (Saturday), after leaving Torinosu, we decided to take a bus towards Sumiyoshi and then walk. We arrived at Osaka Daimaru-mae bus stop, but had to wait for about 25 minutes for the next bus. Instead of going to a café inside Daimaru, we remembered Clever at South Gate and decided to visit there for the first time. It's only a 3-4 minute walk from the bus stop, so it's convenient! Our orders were: I had a hot coffee (M) for 340 yen (including tax), and my wife had an espresso (M) for 380 yen. My wife suggested getting some sweets, but I declined as I've been gaining weight and we were planning to walk later. The hot coffee was as expected, but my wife enjoyed the espresso, which was probably why she wanted something sweet. After our usual 5-minute café break, we headed back to the bus stop. On the third day of my business trip in Osaka, it was raining in the morning. I didn't want to walk around with an umbrella, so I wandered around the covered area outside the Osaka Station gates. I found a shop that was open early in the morning, and decided to try their breakfast set. I chose the Sausage Set for 550 yen (including tax). After paying, I received a drink and a number tag, then sat down. In less than 3 minutes, the Sausage Set was served - it included a mini salad, toast, scrambled eggs, and sausages. It was a simple and quick meal, perfect for a busy morning. Since there weren't many customers, I was able to enjoy my breakfast peacefully. They open at 6 am, making it a great oasis for breakfast seekers.

In Osaka, there is a café called Clever located inside Osaka Station. They used to have a café called Ulz under platforms 7 and 8, but it closed down after I didn't go for about a month. Since I'm not a fan of Starbucks, I wandered around a bit and settled on this café. It's quiet, the service is quick, and most importantly, the coffee is not too strong (which is important to me). I will continue to use this café as my go-to spot at Osaka Station for a while.

I visited this place to have breakfast before work. There are few places open early around Umeda, so it's a convenient spot. There were only 4 customers around 6 AM. I ordered the thick toast set for 410 yen. You have to spread the butter on the toast yourself. The price of over 400 yen for just toast and coffee seems a bit high.

Located near JR Osaka Station, I used this place for a last-minute meeting. You can reserve a seat, order, pay, and receive your drink quickly. I ordered an iced coffee (M size 330 yen) for my hurried companion, and a cafe latte (M size 400 yen) for myself. It was past 4 pm on a holiday, with about 80% of the seats occupied, but I was able to find a spot at the counter and wait.

In front of the store, there is a menu displayed. Inside, sandwiches and cakes are displayed next to the register. The menu includes sandwiches, hot dogs, pasta, omurice, drinks, etc. I ordered a Lettuce Dog. There are counter seats and table seats. The Lettuce Dog has a crispy texture on the surface. The lettuce dog has a good balance of ketchup and mustard. I plan to try the Shrimp & Avocado B set next time.

A cafe that opens from 6:30 is convenient. Nowadays, there are not many cafes that open early in the morning, so I will use this one. The drinks and morning menu are similar to other cafes.
