The interior of the shop was dimly lit and it was close to closing time. The modest staff member patiently waited with a smile as I chose my cake. I appreciated the pressure-free service. The selection of cakes was limited due to the closing time, but I purchased a strawberry tiramisu and a fig cake. I immediately tried the strawberry tiramisu when I got home. The strawberries were incredibly sweet, almost unbelievably so. The tiramisu part had an average taste. However, the fig shortcake did not suit my taste, as it had a somewhat perfume-like flavor that I didn't enjoy. The staff's modest yet pleasant service was much appreciated. It seems that dining in is also available at the shop, but due to the current pandemic, it was closed when I visited. It's possible that it was closed because it was close to closing time, so please confirm this with the store. Overall, it's a good shop that makes me want to come back again.

It's a pretty local place, but whenever we have to accommodate sudden guests, we always use it. This time, I went to buy a birthday present, but I couldn't resist the temptation and ended up getting some cream puffs from the bakery. The premium cream puffs were delicious, with crispy choux pastry and custard filling that was perfectly distributed throughout.

This time, I visited Patisserie Chelmo Matsubara store located near Kawaichimatsubara Station, north of the Osaka Second Factory of Yamazaki Baking. The store is situated at a corner of the intersection and exudes an atmosphere of a long-established Western confectionery shop. This was my first visit to this shop. Although the name includes "Matsubara store," indicating it may be a chain store, I couldn't find any website or Facebook page. However, I found some information indicating that there is a factory in Tenmi, Matsubara City, and besides this Matsubara store, there are stores near Minamitanabe Station, Sakai Station, and Hatsushiba Station. Inside the shop with a red awning, there is a showcase on the left side displaying cakes and puddings, while the right side sells baked sweets such as pound cakes, cookies, and florentines. There is a cafe space towards the right rear, which seemed popular even though it was early evening. Overall, it gives the impression of a cafe that also sells cakes, but the variety of sweets seems to be abundant. This time, I purchased the "Napoleon" (410 yen including tax), "Gateau Chocolat" (324 yen), and "Premium Choux Cream" (108 yen). The Napoleon cake typically consists of layers of pie crust and cream with strawberries. This Napoleon had a crispy texture and thick layers of sponge and cream, complementing the strawberries perfectly. As a cream lover, I was delighted. The Gateau Chocolat wrapped chocolate around a chocolate sponge, providing a moist and rich texture with a good chocolate flavor. I thought the biscuit on top with "choco" written was a biscuit, but it turned out to be chocolate (laughs). The "Premium Choux Cream" was reasonably priced at 108 yen, so it may have been a limited-time offer (I think I saw a POP like that...). The dough was similar to a cookie choux and had a generous amount of cream, which was well-received. There are three parking spaces for Chelmo in the monthly parking lot on the east side of the store.

I highly recommend the cream puffs here. They are a bit pricey at 250 yen each, but they are worth it. The top is made of cookie dough and sprinkled with powdered sugar, giving it just the right amount of sweetness. The custard cream inside is rich but not heavy, making it so delicious that you'll want to keep eating more. Whenever I pass by, I can't resist buying one.

All the cakes are delicious! The whole tart was so luxurious with a generous amount of fruits on top, I was completely satisfied! They also have a points card so it's worth collecting points!

I don't do anything special for my mother's birthday, but every year I make sure to buy a (small) cake. I put candles on it, light them, and my mother blows them out. That's our tradition. By the way, my mother doesn't really like cake haha. She says she's fine with a simpler Japanese sweet, but I insist on having a cake for the birthday atmosphere. However, I find it a hassle to pre-order a cake, so I just buy one wherever I happen to be. This time, after striking out at two places, I finally found a square cake. It's my first time buying a square cake, and I convinced myself that square cakes are more modern! I bought a chocolate box for 1296 yen (tax included) plus a message board for 30 yen (tax included) and 5 candles for 35 yen (tax included), plus an extra 2 candles. This shop sells cakes at reasonable prices, but charges for everything else. The cake had a fluffy texture and the chocolate cream was delicious. It was a good meal.

I went to Chelmo's. The exterior, atmosphere, and the sweets on display all gave off a nostalgic vibe. I really like this kind of atmosphere. I started with a fruit roll cake. The cake was fluffy and moist, with a generous amount of mildly sweet cream, topped with kiwi, strawberry, and mandarin orange. It was simply delicious. Next, I tried a tiramisu that was shaped like a brown wrapper. It was an interesting shape, the first time I've seen tiramisu like this. Lastly, the sweet potato tart showcased the sweet potato as the main ingredient. The sweet potato was generously packed in the tart, with a natural sweetness and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Overall, it was quite satisfying.

The shop is located on the corner and it was a bit hard to find by car, as I initially didn't notice the cake shop. There seems to be a parking lot next to it, so I decided to get some cakes and cream puffs for a snack. It appeared that there was also a cafe space at the back, as there were many women inside. I opted for takeout only, and the cakes in the showcase were not the trendy ones but more traditional ones. I bought a chocolate cake and a cream puff. The chocolate cake had chocolate sponge and cream on top with chocolate on top of it. Inside, there was also chocolate sandwiched in between. The cake was decent, with the smooth melting chocolate being the highlight. The cream puff had a crispy choux pastry with smooth custard inside, and I found it more delicious than the cake. However, at 180 yen each, the cream puff seemed a bit pricey for its taste, so I may not come back. The cakes didn't stand out much, and the prices were set a bit higher for traditional cakes. The Yutaka roll cake looked very delicious though! I might try that next time. Thank you for the meal!

I went to order a birthday cake at the last minute! The roll cake was affordable! It had plenty of strawberries on top and was reasonably priced (ˆ๐ˆ) The taste was quite ordinary! Among the local cake shops, it might be the best? It has that old-fashioned cake shop feel! The service isn't as refined as in Kobe, but that's okay. I hope cake shops continue to evolve as a genre, so I dare say... I enjoyed it! Thank you.

Near my parents' house, there is a Western confectionery shop. It's a bit far from the station, so it's not very convenient to visit... a bit challenging. I think this is only my second time visiting in my lifetime. Before going to the shop, I received instructions from my sister. She said she didn't want a regular cake, but something light! They torch it right after you order, and it was incredibly delicious. The smoothness and richness were exceptional. The Halloween Fruit Pudding for 450 yen was also very tasty. There was also a "Ultimate Pudding" for 210 yen, which I think might be worth trying as well. The Peach Melba for 390 yen had a cheesecake (lemon flavor) inside, and it did not disappoint. It had been a long time since I last visited, but I believe the quality is still high. They also had various baked goods available, so I have high expectations for those too. It was delicious. This time, I received a birthday cake. The one I received this time is "Forêt Noire". It has strawberries on top of cream with chocolate. When it's a birthday cake, you can get a plate like this. The strawberries were big and not too sour, but delicious. It had a slight acidity, not as sour as the strawberries on Christmas cakes. The sponge was soft and gentle. The chocolate cream was not too strong. This Forêt Noire was a 4-inch (12cm) size and cost 2,310 yen. There are 12 types of decoration cakes available. Unfortunately, the shop does not have a website, so you need to visit the shop to see the menu. Some cakes require a reservation 3 days in advance, so it is recommended to visit the shop first. In our case, we plan to try the fruit-filled "Fruity" next time. The shop is located east of the Abo 2-chome intersection next to Meiji Bridge Hospital on Route 309. There is parking space for 4 cars on the east side of the shop. Inside the shop, there is also a cafe.

I had been curious every time I passed by the store by car, but I couldn't go in. This time, I visited the store unexpectedly. The store is located on a corner lot along the road, with a parking lot for 3-4 cars on the east side. When you enter the store, there is a display case in front with about 10 types of fresh cakes and baked goods. The right side seemed to be a cafe corner. The interior lighting was a bit dim, and the person who served us did not smile. This time, I bought 5 different items, and I tried the Mont Blanc and shortcake. The Mont Blanc didn't have a noticeable chestnut flavor, but the sponge was fluffy and delicious. The shortcake was nothing special, just a typical one. I felt that if they reconsidered the composition of the cakes, they could become really delicious.
