In Osaka, I wonder if it's rare? I heard of "Daito Soba Wimayu" for the first time and tried the mixed soba (a mix of Daito soba and Soki soba), Juicy (Okinawan mixed rice), and Spam onigiri. ○ Original Daito Soba Wimayu, 4-4-22 Sugawara, Higashiyodogawa-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture.

I had been interested in this restaurant for a while. They offer Daito Soba, Soki Soba, and Mix Soba. The only difference between Daito Soba and Soki Soba is the choice of pork belly or spare ribs as toppings, with the noodles and soup being the same. I visited with a friend and we ordered Daito Soba and Soki Soba, along with Spam rice balls. The soup was light and comforting with a mild saltiness, which I really enjoyed. The noodles were chewy and fresh. The Shisa-shaped fish cake was a cute touch. The restaurant played Okinawan music, and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely come back again.

I don't know the difference between Daito soba and Okinawa soba, but they are almost the same. When you enter, you are prompted to order at the counter. I ordered Daito soba with three slices of pork and jushi for 700 yen plus 200 yen. Payment is cash only. You receive a number tag and wait for the food to be served at your table. The clear soup with curly noodles, two slices of pork, two colors of shisa fishcakes, and chopped green onions are served. There is a small bag of pickled ginger, and on the table, there are coriander and island chili peppers. The soup has a good bonito and pork broth flavor, light and delicious. In a time where there are many shops with strong and thick pork bone soup, this one is traditional and the best. The fresh noodles have a good chewiness, and they are shorter in length. I'm not sure what the standard for Daito soba is, but I prefer the medium-thick flat noodles of Okinawa soba. The pork slices are with skin, which is good (the skin is important), thinly cooked and tasty. The fishcake should be the round, white one from Okinawa. The juicy flavor is a bit strong. The ingredients include finely chopped kombu, vegetables, and something else. It's been a while since I had Okinawa soba at a restaurant, and I'm satisfied with the delicious soup. The soba portion is not large, and the staff recommended that for men, ordering the large soba and a light side of rice would be enough. The price changes with the meat toppings, but the fullness of the stomach doesn't change much. If it goes over 1000 yen, the cost performance may not be good.

Located close to Higashiyodogawa Ward Office. Today I had lunch here. The interior has about 10 seats with a counter and table seating. The menu mainly consists of soba noodles, and you first order and pay at the register. I ordered the Daiei soba noodles and a Spam rice ball. Let's dig in! The soup is light and made with pork and bonito broth. It goes well with the thick noodles. You can eat it plain at first, and then try adding garlic sprouts or pickled ginger for a different flavor. The Spam rice ball is served not hot, with plenty of mayonnaise. It has a slightly junk food taste. I recommend getting a side dish with the soba to feel more satisfied. Overall, it was a delicious meal! The food menu includes soba noodles and a Spam rice ball only. They also offer Sata Andagi for takeout, but the menu is limited.

My friend lives in Awaji, so we brought whiskey to their house for a drink before heading to the new restaurant Umiya for Okinawa soba. The interior of the restaurant is very clean, but the menu is a bit on the pricey side for this area. Unfortunately, they were sold out of Juushi (Okinawan mixed rice), so I ordered the large size of mixed soba for 1000 yen. The soba arrived, looking beautiful with both Okinawa and mainland Japan influences. The noodles were thick and slightly irregular, with a chewy texture. The soup was flavorful and clear, and the toppings of pork belly and Rafute were delicious. I preferred the Rafute with its bone-in and shochu flavor over the pork belly. The soup was light but had a kick to it, especially when I added a bit of Koregusu (Okinawan chili pepper in vinegar). Overall, the meal was delicious and well-prepared, although it would be even better if they offered set menus. As a bonus, they gave us Chinquapin cookies as a gift. This restaurant specializing in Okinawan soba is a rare find in Osaka, and I would love to visit again. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I had a quick lunch at "Ganso Daito Soba Wimaa" located across from the Higashiyodogawa Ward Office, which I had been putting off because it's in the neighborhood. I arrived around 12:30 and the place was almost full, mainly with local housewives. The atmosphere was lively with Okinawan music playing and waves on the monitor on the wall, and energetic female staff. It felt like a mini vacation. You order at the ticket machine, pay at the counter, and then take a number tag to your seat. While waiting for my order of Daito Soba and Juushi (Okinawan mixed rice), I was given a chinsuko cookie (to take home). The food arrived in about 10 minutes. The Daito Soba had a lighter broth than the Okinawan soba I'm used to. The thick, chewy noodles had a nice texture. I added some liquid and powdered island red pepper for extra kick, but be careful as it's quite spicy. The Juushi was like a slightly Chinese-style mixed rice, with a subtle flavor overall but some areas with a stronger taste that I personally enjoyed. I wish they had more options on the menu, as I would definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

I entered the restaurant on a regular day at 12:18 pm and there were 6 people leaving at 12:30 pm. I ordered the delicious and gentle Okinawan soba with tender simmered pork and thick noodles. Although it felt a bit pricey at 900 yen, I would be happy to come back again someday. Thank you for the meal.

Daikoku Soba Chuu (Animal + Seafood 700 yen) ★★★☆
The soup is a fish sauce soy flavor based on chicken bone and pork bone. The noodles are thick straight noodles with a slight wave. The ingredients include pork belly chashu, green onions, and kamaboko. This shop is the first Osaka branch of the original "Daikoku Soba" in Okinawa, and it opened around JR Awaji Station on April 15th. The soup is made from chicken bone, pork bone, and bonito flakes, with a moderate amount of oil, a hint of soy sauce sweetness, a rich flavor from chicken and pork bones, and a subtle bonito flavor, resulting in a light finish. The noodles are homemade noodles imported from Okinawa, chewy with a firm texture. The thick chashu slices are tender and well-seasoned, very delicious. You can enjoy a change in flavor with the separately provided pickled ginger, and the included karashi-saa and island chili pepper.

I visited "Ganso Daito Soba Wimah Y" which opened on April 15th. This is the first Osaka branch of the original Daito Soba in Okinawa, located near JR Awaji Station. The menu includes Daito Soba (medium 700 yen, large 800 yen), Soki Soba (medium 900 yen, large 1100 yen), and Mix Soba (medium 850 yen, large 1000 yen). The soup is a combination of chicken, pork bone, and bonito broth with a light soy sauce flavor and a hint of acidity. The thick and wavy noodles imported from Okinawa have a good firmness and chewy texture. The chashu is tender and well-seasoned. Red pickled ginger is served on the side, and you can adjust the flavor with island chili peppers and coriander sauce on the table.

I entered the restaurant at 1:58 PM on a regular day and left at 2:15 PM with no guests. I ordered the Okinawa soba with thick noodles for 750 yen. It was delicious and reminded me of Jiro-style ramen with its bold and flavorful noodles and traditional broth. I had a better impression this time compared to my previous visit. Thank you for the meal, I look forward to coming back again someday.

I can't believe you can eat Daito Soba in Kansai! Daito Soba is known for its thick noodles. The broth is on the lighter side. Unfortunately, this restaurant did not serve Daito Sushi. I'll have to stop by if I'm in the area again.
