◉Genre: Bento, Ekiben ◉Area: Inside JR Kokura Station (Shinkansen) in Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu City ◉Access: - ◉Parking: None ◉Credit Card Payment: - ◉Number of Visits: Multiple times ◉Number of Reviews: 1st review On this day, I casually stopped by "Ekiben Dokoro" (Ekiben Shop). ◇Exterior and Interior This bento shop is located inside JR Kokura Station on the Shinkansen side in Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu City. The main products are ekiben that can be found at any station. ◇No seating available. ◇Menu Composition Various ekiben lined up! In addition, they also have bread and more. The items I ordered are as follows: - Kyushu Trip Bento (1,250 yen) → Including tax. Although Golden Week is approaching, I have no plans to go far and just intend to stay within the prefecture, so the strategy is to "travel" with a bento. (laughs) Satoki. This bento, as shown in the 8th photo, features representative dishes from each prefecture in Kyushu, allowing you to enjoy a small portion of each. Among them, the stability of white rice and mentaiko is outstanding, and the Kagoshima black pork shumai was quite delicious. But I bet it would taste different if eaten on the Shinkansen. (laughs) ◆Strong Points Great for travel companions. Even if you're not traveling, you can still enjoy the feeling of it! ◆Customer Service Average. ◆Conclusion I always think it would be nice if the opening hours were a bit earlier. When you need to leave early, not only this shop but others are closed, and in the end, you end up going to a convenience store. Thank you for the meal.

At the Shinkansen Kokura Station ticket gate, there is a station bento shop. For some reason, they also sold products from Fukuya. The appearance has become more colorful, and I thought about registering it as a new store, but since the store name didn't seem to change, I held back. Even after the renewal, I still bought the same thing, kashiwameshi. It's delicious no matter when you eat it. I bought it on my way back to Hakata in the evening, and when I ate it the next morning before going to work, I felt like I was more productive than usual.

During the coronavirus pandemic, you can take the Shinkansen and go "pya" and come back "pya." Or you can leisurely travel on a local train. Or you can take a local express train and go "pyu." You can also take a high-speed bus from Tenjin Highway Bus Terminal. From Kokura Minami Interchange, you can take the monorail along Mihagi, Heiwadori, and the Itodzu-go bus that runs through Oyama, Tozawa, Daizo, and Atozu, passing through Riverwalk and Uomachi. Whether it's the Shinkansen, local train, express train, or high-speed bus, the air conditioning system inside is always ventilated for your safety and peace of mind. I went to Kokura to celebrate the third anniversary of my favorite restaurant. And most importantly, I will buy Kashiwameshi and Chun Chun's yakitori to take home. I didn't know until recently that you could buy Kashiwameshi from Tokiwa-ken at Kokura Station. I used to buy Kashiwameshi in Kokura, but when it comes to Kashiwameshi, Tokiwa-ken's Kashiwameshi is the best. The sweetly cooked chicken and rice cooked in the same sauce. Normally, there is not enough chicken, and seaweed and shredded omelet are not enough as side dishes, but with this Kashiwameshi, the rice cooked in the sauce is so delicious that the amount of chicken is sufficient. I ate it mindlessly and finished it in one go. I used to go all the way to Kurosaki Station's udon shop to buy Kashiwameshi. The operating hours of Kurosaki Station's udon shop have been shortened to 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., what should I do? Just when I was thinking of going to Orio to buy it, I found out that it was being sold at Kokura Station. I love Kokura even more now that I can buy Kashiwameshi here.

When I went to Kokura the other day, I used this place before boarding the Shinkansen. I don't eat station bento boxes very often, so I feel excited. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of bento boxes I can eat, haha. ■Access It is located just to the left as soon as you enter the Shinkansen ticket gate at Kokura Station. ■Interior The small interior had several types of bento boxes lined up. ■Customer base There were many businessmen and tourists. ■Ordered items I ordered the Spicy Cod Roe and Hakata Jidori Chicken Bento. When you think of Fukuoka, you think of cod roe for sure!! The slightly spicy cod roe goes well with the rice. The local chicken was delicious too, but personally, I really enjoyed the braised burdock that came with it. It was a great travel companion (^ ^)

I bought a "Muhomatsu Bento" for 900 yen, along with a 3 yen plastic bag, without knowing what it was. When I opened it at home, I was surprised. It was really disappointing. Not in terms of taste, but the appearance was just so shabby. We were all left speechless. Angry. There was only one chestnut inside. It's hard to believe this costs 900 yen, more like a station bento price. It truly lives up to its name, Muhomatsu Bento. It's definitely disappointing. Suica is accepted.

■Visit Date: November 9, 2020■Items Received: ・Kyushu TRIP Bento ・Orio Specialty Kashiwa Meshi■MEMOVisited on November 9, 2020. On my way back from a day trip to Kitakyushu, I stopped by Kokura Station on the Sanyo Shinkansen and purchased some station bento as per my wife's request. Tonight's dinner consisted of two items: the Kyushu TRIP Bento and the Orio Specialty Kashiwa Meshi. My wife had the Kyushu TRIP Bento, while I enjoyed the Kashiwa Meshi. The Kyushu TRIP Bento allows you to taste the flavors of each prefecture in Kyushu in one bento box, which is a luxurious and enjoyable experience. My wife was very satisfied with it. As for the Kashiwa Meshi, I had been curious about it for a while since I've had Kashiwa Udon a few times during my visits to Kyushu. This time, I had the chance to try the Kashiwa Meshi, which is apparently the best-selling item among station bento. The colorful Kashiwa Meshi was incredibly delicious. The taste of the Kashiwa, along with the seasoned rice, rolled omelette, and seaweed, complemented each other perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed the outstanding flavors. Station bento is truly something special.■Blog Posthttps://ay-style.net/?p=54581

1-1-1 Asano, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture JR Kokura Station Shinkansen Platform At the end of June, it's our annual Kansai trip. Despite concerns about the new coronavirus, we are going since inter-prefectural travel is now allowed. We want to enjoy ourselves before a second wave hits. Usually, our trip includes horse racing, but this year, due to COVID-19, races are held without spectators. We can only cheer from the TV. Our goal for the Kansai trip is not just horse racing, but also enjoying food, drinks, and sightseeing. We stopped at a bento shop for lunch, but since it was too early, we settled for beer and snacks. Unfortunately, the Seven-Eleven on the platform was closed, so we had to buy drinks on the train. As we boarded the Shinkansen, an announcement informed us that onboard sales were suspended due to the pandemic. It was unexpected, but we managed with a light and tasty snack. Despite the hiccup, we hope for good weather during this rainy season.

I traveled from Oita to Kokura by Sonic. I bought souvenirs around Kokura Station and then purchased Kashiwameshi inside the ticket gate area of Kokura Station for lunch on the way to Nagoya. It's a simple and delicious dish that I can eat over and over again. Thank you for the meal.

On my fourth meal during my business trip to Kyushu, I arrived early at Kokura Station due to work preparations. Feeling a bit tired, I decided to purchase a station bento at a bento shop inside the station. I chose a bento with mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and beef tongue, wanting something that represents Kyushu. When I opened the bento, the mentaiko was stuck to the lid and was difficult to remove. As I tried to remove it, a mishap occurred – the lid flew off and the mentaiko fell onto the table, with the seasoned side facing down. Despite this, I bravely decided to eat it. I actually like cold rice, and underneath the mentaiko was shredded egg, while underneath the beef tongue was burdock root. Despite the incident, I safely and deliciously enjoyed my meal. Thank you for the feast.

I wanted to have lunch in the station, but I overslept and couldn't make it in time for the Shinkansen, so I quickly changed my plans and decided to have my last meal in Kokura at a bento shop in front of the Shinkansen platform. I love beef tongue and mentaiko, so I immediately chose this shop. I thought the ingredients in the bento would be cheap, but the beef tongue and mentaiko were actually quite good quality and perfect for a journey. Thank you for the meal!

Station Bento A station bento shop located inside the JR Sanyo Shinkansen Kokura Station ticket gate. It is just a minute's walk to the Shinkansen platform, so you can purchase without worrying about time. Depending on the time of day, some bento boxes may sell out, but you can find a variety of bento boxes from stations in Kitakyushu city at this shop. Today, I purchased the "Kashiwameshi 770 yen (tax included)" from Higashichikken. It is a classic bento that has been enjoyed since the 10th year of Taisho era, with a traditional taste that occasionally makes you crave it. If asked to choose one representative station bento from Kitakyushu city, many people would likely mention this Kashiwameshi from Higashichikken. 【Overall】Integrated evaluation ★ 3.6 【Taste】Taste ★ 3.6 【Service】Service ★ 3.6 【Vibe】Atmosphere ★ 3.5 【Cost Performance】Cost Performance ★ 3.5 【Loyalty】Loyalty ★ 3.5 【Low-salt】Low-salt ★ 2.5 【Low Carbohydrate Loading】Low Carbohydrate Loading ★ 2.5 【Access】Access ★ 4.5 JR Kokura Station Shinkansen ticket gate 【Customer Satisfaction】Customer Satisfaction 59.5 (out of 100) 【Single Customer Satisfaction】Single Customer Satisfaction ★ 3.6

"I finished my business trip to Fukuoka earlier than expected, so I decided to visit the store in Akama that I am scheduled to visit next week. I checked on the progress and then went to Sun Live, a competitor store, before returning to Kokura. I bought some souvenirs and a bento for the Shinkansen ride back home. The souvenirs are Ume-gaeshi mochi from Dazaifu, which can last for 4 hours in the freezer, just in time! But my family loves it, so I got it anyway. For the bento, I got my favorite Kashiwameshi from Higashichikken in Orio at the Kokura station. Opening the bento on the Shinkansen was a delight! The visual presentation was great - chicken soboro, shredded omelette, seaweed, sweet simmered beans, konbu tsukudani, Nara pickles, and pickled ginger. Simple is best, and it was delicious even when cold! I enjoyed it with my favorite Ichiban Shibori long can. Ah, what a blissful moment! Cheers! See you again!"

I wanted to eat out at Kokura Station, but I didn't have much time so I ended up buying a station bento for the first time in a while. There were many options to choose from, but I decided to go with the Black Pork Tonkatsu Bento (1080 yen). It came with black pork tonkatsu, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, burdock, and carrots. The tonkatsu was made with black pork from Kagoshima Prefecture. It was delicious, although I couldn't really tell the difference myself (^_^;)

The restaurant is located at JR Kokura Station Shinkansen platform 1F, Asano 1-1-1, Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. I took the Hello Kitty Shinkansen early in the morning to Hiroshima to experience the atmosphere of the Climax Series Game 3. Hiroshima Carp, who won the Central League, had a 1-0 advantage and needed just one more win to advance to the Japan Series. Even though I'm not really interested in baseball, I decided to support the Carp and enjoy the Climax Series atmosphere up close. I had an onigiri bento for breakfast, which I bought at Shin-Yamaguchi Station. It was a simple bento with salted rice balls, pickled vegetables, salmon, fried chicken, croquette, and plenty of sweet pickles. It was a decent meal at a reasonable price, and I enjoyed it.

Got myself a kashiwameshi bento box. It comes with meat, shredded egg, and seaweed. The rice is well seasoned. Also bought some beer, fish cake, and imitation crab meat. Hopefully, this will get me through until Shin-Osaka!

Kokura Kita Ward, Kitakyushu City. Inside Kokura Station on the Shinkansen line. Here, I tried the Kashiwameshi from Higashichikuken. Since I can't go to Orio, this will do... The Kashiwameshi (770 yen) has quite a generous portion! The rice cooked with chicken is delicious! It's simple yet gently seasoned and not overwhelming! Station bento boxes are considered a luxury item for me. But this Kashiwameshi is really worth the price at 770 yen! Sometimes you just crave it! It's a gem that you must try!
