It's been a while since I had walnut mochi! It's a 15-minute walk from Ginzari-en! I arrived after walking in the heat! Double ice for 800 yen!

After a decade, I visited this place again. I arrived on a Saturday around 2 pm, and there was a line of 15-20 groups. However, the turnover was quick so it wasn't too much of a hassle. I was already full from lunch, so I ordered a single serving of ice chestnut mochi and some to take home. The gentle ice covering the rich chestnut mochi was delicious as always. No wonder there's always a line. They provide a cooling pack for takeout, so it's safe even in this season.

I received a gift from my senior, which was walnut mochi for two people. It was not crowded during the day, which was unusual. The walnut mochi looked like zunda at first because it is wrapped in mochi. It is made without any additives, so it needs to be eaten on the same day. Indeed, the mochi I bought in the afternoon had started to harden by the evening.

It's been a long time since I last had this. I had it once before as a takeout, but only received about 2-3 pieces so I didn't remember it well. This time, I ate it with my wife in the restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. The sweet bean paste was not too sweet, and the rice cake was very tasty. If you prefer something sweeter, you can try the ice-covered ice cream rice cake. I had it without the ice.

It was crowded inside the store as it was Sunday afternoon. It was a hot day, so I was torn between getting the shaved ice with walnut mochi, but I wanted to fully enjoy the taste, so I went with a regular walnut mochi ⭐︎ and even got a double (^^)!! The red bean paste is delicious, and the mochi is soft.

The South Osaka Excitement Team member's recommendation٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و It had been a while since I explored in Sakai City! I was worried because the cafes I used to visit were all closed down ( •᷄ὤ•᷅) But as I passed by Kanbukuro, I saw a cafe that was open from 10:00. It was hot and my knees were hurting, so I decided to stop by. It had been 11 years since my last visit, and this time I made sure to take some photos as well٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و There were about 8 customers already inside, and a few people getting takeout. I ordered the Ice Kurumi Mochi for 400 yen٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و I paid first and got a wooden token to wait at a table. While waiting, I took some photos, helped myself to some drinks, and used the restroom. After about 7 minutes, my order arrived. Ice is the best for hot summer days, right? But is it really that delicious? Is it worth lining up for? To be honest, I wasn't sure, but it was actually quite tasty and refreshing (>_<) It's a famous shop with a good reputation, so it might be worth trying as a conversation starter. Thank you for the meal(。•̀ᴗ-)و ̑̑✧

I visited around 2:30 pm on a weekday and there was no wait. However, the restaurant was almost full, and there were a few groups waiting when I left. I couldn't get a takeout as they only last for the same day, so I ordered the Ice Kurumi Mochi Single. I was worried that the red bean paste would become watery when the ice melted, but it didn't happen. The red bean paste had a chestnut-like flavor with just the right amount of sweetness and was delicious.

I visited the restaurant on a Saturday around 3:30 PM for the first time in a few years, and it was still very popular. The private parking lot (Times) was full, with 5-6 groups in front of the store and a similar number inside, but surprisingly we were able to be seated in about 15 minutes. I was torn between choosing the walnut mochi or ice walnut mochi, but since everyone around us was ordering the ice walnut mochi, my wife and I decided to order a double and a single ice walnut mochi. The combination of walnut paste and mochi was really delicious. I would like to come back again in a few years.

Terachi-cho ◇ Kurumi Mochi ◇ [1-cho, Higashi, Shinsaike-cho, Sakai-ku, Sakai City] Located a 2-minute walk southeast from Terachi-cho on the Hankai tram line, is the long-established store "Kambukuro" that has been around for 700 years. Although I have heard of the name before, this was my first time visiting and trying their food. There is a Times parking lot on the north side of the store (90 minutes free). I easily entered the store around 10:30 am on a weekday. While there were people eating the "Ice Kurumi Mochi" inside the store, this time I opted for a takeout. The Kurumi Mochi, which came in a container, had a color similar to a Japanese bush warbler, with plenty of white rice cakes mixed with bean paste. I had mistakenly thought that Kurumi Mochi was a rice cake with walnuts inside, but it actually refers to the way the rice cake is wrapped and eaten. The store does not disclose its recipe, but the bean paste seems to be carefully cooked after removing the skin of green soybeans. It is somewhat similar to the "Zunda Mochi" from Sendai, but still different. The white rice cakes become hard if eaten the next day, so it is best to consume them on the same day. The subtly elegant sweetness of the bean paste is addictive, and it pairs well with the soft white rice cakes. "Thank you for the meal."

My family bought this for me after a long time. It seems a bit expensive, but the soft mochi and flavorful anko are delicious and have a unique taste that I can't find elsewhere. I don't know what kind of anko this is, so I'd like to find out.

During the summer, I visited the popular ice kurumi mochi shop "Kambukuro" in Sakai, Osaka, which I always feel like going to. It's a bit of a walk from the station, so it's safer to go by car. The prices are reasonable, with a single ice kurumi mochi for 400 yen and a double for 800 yen. Takeout is also available, but today I used the eat-in option. The ice is crunchy and the kurumi mochi has a gentle sweetness. The mochi is large and chewy, so delicious! The combination of ice and mochi is amazing. In the summer, there is always a long line, but it's definitely worth the wait. The coin parking lot right in front of the shop (Times Sakai Kambukuro) offers 60 minutes of free service when using the shop, but it is a number reading system, so make sure to mention your use of the parking lot when paying and get the QR code. Don't forget!

Located in Sakai City, on the opposite side of the famous "Gekotei" known for its silver shari, there is a specialty store for Sakai's famous confectionery "Kurumi Mochi" called "Kambukuro." Established in 1329, it is a historic shop that is said to have been named by Toyotomi Hideyoshi when he built Osaka Castle. The interior of the shop has many 4-seater tables, with a food court style setup. First, you order at the register and receive a wooden tag to take to your seat. Self-serve tea is available, and I recommend the hot genmaicha! There is a large coin parking lot nearby, making it convenient for those driving. The specialty Kurumi Mochi is not made with walnuts, but rather it is a "wrap." It is made of white rice cake wrapped in a slightly sticky green bean paste, hence the name "Kurumi Mochi." Today, I ordered the "Ice Kurumi Mochi" for 400 yen, which comes with shaved ice on top. Under the fluffy shaved ice, there is chewy white rice cake and sweet bean paste. It's fun to eat while breaking down the ice mountain. The cool texture helps you forget about the summer heat! I recommend getting the double instead of the single serving. I wish I had ordered more! Although there may be a line at the register, the turnover is fast with many takeout customers as well. Don't hesitate to wait in line, it's worth it!

For some reason, I always crave this when summer comes. Even though the price went up, it's still great to be able to enjoy this taste for 400 yen. The taste hasn't changed and it's consistently delicious. You can always count on the flavor. During the summer, the line is always long, and I worry if I'll make it within the free 60-minute parking limit, but surprisingly, the turnover is quick so it usually works out.

I had always wanted to try Kanbukuro's Kurumi Mochi, but for some reason, I never had the chance. Since I live in Sakai, it's not a place that's hard to get to. It would be silly to go all the way to Tokyo just for a visit to a traditional Japanese sweets shop, right? Finally, after years of longing, I was able to try the Kurumi Mochi. First, I tried the Ice Kurumi Mochi (S size for 400 yen) at the store, and then I bought a 4-person portion in a sealed container to take home (1900 yen). The Ice Kurumi Mochi had a strong sweetness even with the shaved ice, which was a nice combination. But when I ate the Kurumi Mochi at home without the ice, it had a more subtle sweetness and a pleasant texture. Maybe the Ice Kurumi Mochi was intentionally made sweeter? The delicate sweetness and delightful texture make it truly addictive.

It's hot and humid, and you don't feel like going outside, but this amazing shop always has a line. It's hard to even get into the parking lot, and waiting in line can be exhausting. However, the turnover seems to be pretty good, so the line moves faster than it looks. This place is famous for its walnut mochi, with a smooth and chewy texture, topped with sweet bean paste. You can buy it to go, but if you eat in, definitely try the ice walnut mochi! It's a simple kakigori (shaved ice) on top of the delicious walnut mochi, and the combination of sweetness is just perfect. You can enjoy adjusting the ratio of ice and mochi as you eat. It's only 400 yen, making it a great value. Highly recommended!

It is a well-known famous restaurant. I visited on a weekday afternoon and it was almost full, but the turnover was good and I was able to sit down smoothly. The walnut shaved ice is a specialty where fluffy shaved ice is served with walnut mochi. Mixing the smooth melting ice with the rich sweetness and chewy texture of the walnut mochi is exquisite! It was delicious, thank you for the meal!!

When it comes to famous confectioneries in Sakai, it's all about Kurumi Mochi and Keshi Mochi. And when it comes to summer traditions in Sakai, it's all about the ice-covered Kurumi. I really love it. The first place I drove to alone after getting my driver's license was Kanbukuro, haha. I still visit at least once every summer, but I feel like the taste has changed from before. The color seems a bit different too. In the past, it had more of a rustic feel, or it didn't have that overwhelming sweetness.

Today's dessert was at "Kanbukuro," a famous shop in Sakai City known for its delicious walnut mochi. The parking lot right in front of the shop (Times Sakai Kanbukuro) offers 60 minutes of free parking when you use the shop, but it is a number plate reading system, so be sure to inform them of your parking and get a QR code when paying. I ordered the Ice Walnut Mochi (Single) for 400 yen (tax included). After placing my order, I received a large number tag and waited at my table. The walnut mochi arrived shortly after. I enjoyed mixing the ice and sweet bean paste together, the cool texture and the chewiness of the mochi were delightful. It had been a while since I last had it, but it was still delicious. Thank you for the meal!

When it comes to walnut mochi, Kanbukuro is the place to go! I felt like eating it after a year and decided to visit. Today, I went for the regular walnut mochi instead of the ice walnut mochi! It's still delicious ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). I plan to come back in the summer to try the ice walnut mochi. I also bought some to take home as a souvenir for a friend, and they were very happy to receive it.
