After a long construction period, the grand opening of Hankyu Umeda Main Store finally took place on November 21, 2012. The food market in the basement is quite spacious, with many interesting shops to explore. Usually prepared with sauce, but this time it was made with white broiling. Pouring sauce on the table allows you to enjoy both white broiling and sauce grilling. The other day, I suddenly felt like eating eel, so I had some at Hankyu Umeda. It was a busy lunchtime, but I only had to wait for about 10 minutes to get a table. The eel was delicious, both the sauce and the cooking were perfect.

First visit to the restaurant. I went to "Unagi Man" on the 12th floor of Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store in Osaka. As the weather gets warmer, I start craving eel. I had the Unaju for ¥5,200 (tax included) with soup and pickles included, using one eel. The soy sauce was rich but the sweetness was subtle, which was still delicious but I personally prefer it a bit sweeter.

I was shopping at Hankyu Department Store when it was time for dinner. Since I hadn't made any reservations anywhere, I decided to have dinner at this restaurant. I went alone and was seated at a table for four people. I ordered eel on rice. It came relatively quickly. As I tried it, the eel was tender and had a Kanto-style taste. The sauce was just the right amount of sweetness and paired well with the eel. When I sprinkled a little sansho pepper, the flavor became even more delicious. The liver soup was quite mild in flavor, but the broth tasted good. I enjoyed it.

I ordered warm sake and asked for the eel to be grilled crispy, but it ended up being grilled with the back side facing up. The eel was not bad, but it had a Kanto-style soft texture instead of the crispy texture I was hoping for. It was a bit disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

On this day, there was an event going on with a large screen, allowing us to enjoy the event while dining. We ordered an eel bowl and grilled eel liver. The eel had a rich flavor, while the grilled liver had a strong and savory taste. The Nara pickles served as a side dish also had a robust flavor. In terms of cost performance, it was a bit on the expensive side. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

Eel... I suddenly had a craving for eel and wandered around during the weekday afternoon. It's nice that the department store's restaurants never disappoint. Both the liver and the eel rice bowl were delicious. I asked for less rice in the eel rice bowl and it was perfect. The eel in the soup looked so cute that I couldn't resist taking a photo of it.

Lunch at a Japanese restaurant ★ Umeda "Unagi Man Hankyu Umeda Main Store" ◇ Unagi bowl (pine) ◇ Hitsuma (pine) ◇ Grilled eel Umeda Hankyu with my wife for shopping... Before that, we decided to have a meal here... I remember buying and eating at "Unagi Man" at Nishinomiya Gardens and it was delicious. ◎ Grilled eel (one tail) The time from ordering to serving was very fast... It feels like they grilled it once, then heated it up again for a second round. However... the skin is crispy and the meat is tender, with just the right amount of fat. It is a delicious eel. Served with wasabi and vinegar citrus, eaten with soy sauce. I prefer to eat it with just wasabi without the vinegar citrus so I don't dip it in soy sauce. The aroma of the eel spreads in my mouth. ◎ Unagi bowl (pine) There are two options for the bowl, "Pine (5/6 tails)" and "Bamboo (2/3 tails)", with a subtle price difference... Unlike the grilled eel, the kabayaki is seasoned with a less sweet Edo-style sauce which I prefer. The rice is a bit firm, soaked in the sauce to just the right firmness, making it a good match with the eel. I topped it with the wasabi served with the grilled eel for a change in taste and was able to eat without getting tired of it. I really wanted to have a drink with eel zaku or liver skewers, but I am the driver again today so I resisted and just had a meal. As expected, after the New Year, the restaurant floor was sparsely populated...

I had a slightly luxurious lunch. I ordered an eel rice bowl. The eel was not too big or too small, and the sauce was lightly flavored. The rice was on the firm side. It was delicious, but I felt like the quality didn't quite meet the price. Maybe an eel bowl would have been better. It's understandable that they can't broil the eel with smoke in a department store.

I went out with a friend and felt like eating eel for dinner, so we decided to visit this place without any plans, even though it was a bit pricey. The location is at the 12th floor restaurant floor of Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store, so the atmosphere was quite luxurious. The seating was spacious and comfortable. We ordered grilled eel for my friend and I decided to try the Hitsumabushi, which allows you to taste the eel in different ways. The grilled eel was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the Hitsumabushi was served with various condiments and broth for a delicious experience. We also enjoyed some plum wine, premium beer, and even tried a limited edition sake brewed by a foreign brewer. The manager of the restaurant was very friendly and we had a great time discussing sake. Overall, it was a delicious meal and a cozy place to dine in Umeda. Can't wait to come back here for eel again!

I had lunch at the eel restaurant on the 12th floor of Hankyu. I ordered a bottled Asahi beer for 720 yen. I chose the largest size of the eel dish, which was 6820 yen and equivalent to 1.5 eels. The food arrived quickly, within 7 minutes of ordering. The eel seemed to be grilled well, possibly in the Kanto style. It was steamed and very delicious. Thank you for the meal! *\(^o^)/*

I came here after a long time. The eel here is always tender and juicy. Unlike Kansai-style eel, which is not as tender due to being grilled on the ground. This is unique to Kanto-style eel. The sauce is not too sweet, more on the light side. They say it's 3/2 eels, but it's enough to fill you up. It's also nice that you can have green tea at first and roasted tea after the meal.

I stopped by here after shopping at Hankyu. I have been eating eel frequently lately and trying different places. I used to order eel over rice before, but this time I ordered hitsumabushi. Personally, I prefer hitsumabushi. The eel is soft overall, not crispy or fluffy. The sauce is not too sweet, and there is extra sauce on the table for those who need more.

On a hot summer day, my partner and I decided to have some stamina-boosting eel. While there are eel restaurants around Umeda, many lack hygiene, so we chose this place in a department store thinking it would be better. We sat at a table to the left as soon as we entered. Even though there were only two of us, the atmosphere and location made it feel spacious enough for just one person. We ordered a simple eel rice bowl. The calm interior of the department store made for a relaxing dining experience. The eel was served in about 10 minutes. We focused all our attention on the eel, starting with the first bite. It was delicious and plump, a true example of Edo-style eel. Personally, I prefer the Kansai style, but this was also very tasty. Despite the ongoing pandemic, the restaurant quickly filled up with customers. It's no wonder it's so popular. The simple and flavorful soup complemented the meal well. The whole experience lasted about 20 minutes. Thank you for the delicious meal. We were able to enjoy the eel in a hygienic and peaceful environment. I wonder what type of eel dish we'll try next time? I've also started to get a little into Demon Slayer. I'll definitely visit again. (d( ̄  ̄) ===========

This is an eel restaurant located on the 12th floor of Hankyu Department Store in Umeda. I visited this restaurant with my mother to pay respects at a grave. After finishing our errands at Hankyu, my mother expressed a desire for eel or Japanese cuisine, so we decided to visit this eel restaurant. It was during the busy Obon season in August, and I remember that Hankyu was even more crowded 10 years ago, but the restaurant floor was quite busy. The restaurant is located in the area facing the atrium windows. Depending on where you sit, you can overlook the festival square below. The tables are large, and even the 4-person tables are spacious, which is nice. The items we ordered were as follows: two servings of eel rice bowl, dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette), and draft beer (for my mother). The total came to around 10,000 yen. The eel in the rice bowl was steamed and then grilled, making it moist and tender. It was very delicious. The sauce was also tasty. At the table, there were also sansho pepper, eel sauce, and toothpicks. In his later years, my grandfather passed away after eating my mother's home-cooked meals every day. On the day of his passing, his final meal was eel. We jokingly talk about how he ate eel to gain strength before his journey. I would like to come back to enjoy the delicious eel rice bowl again. I went to a local eel restaurant, but they were unexpectedly sold out, so I had to go to Umeda. It was my first visit to this place. The floor where the restaurant is located was empty, so we were able to enter easily. There were three of us, so we ordered eel rice bowl (served in a bamboo container), grilled eel over rice (served in a bamboo container), Hitsumabushi (grilled eel served on rice with condiments), and eel roll with eel liver. The restaurant was clean, with no smoke or strong smells. The eel was soft and delicious at first, but as we continued eating, it started to feel dry and resembled steamed white fish. I couldn't taste the crispy burnt texture of the sauce, which I expected from Edo-style eel. There was more eel than I anticipated for the price. Honestly, I felt like it was just okay for this price. Thank you for the meal.

We wanted to eat eel after a long time, so we visited this restaurant as a couple. We usually go to Grand Front to eat eel, but this time we came here because we had some business at Hankyu and it was lunchtime. The food came out very quickly after we ordered, but we wished it was cooked a bit more thoroughly. The taste was really average!! The prices are high probably because it's located in Hankyu, so the cost performance is not very good. It was nice that the staff changed our tea to hojicha after the meal, but we probably won't come back again.

Being in the Hankyu Department Store, this restaurant has a clean and pleasant atmosphere where you can enjoy your meal comfortably. Although the prices are on the higher side, you can taste high-quality eel in their delicious eel bento boxes and set meals. This time, I ordered the popular menu item, the Eel and Rice with Pork Soup Set. The eel, with its fluffy texture and fragrant aroma, paired perfectly with the sweet and savory sauce and white rice, making it hard to stop eating! I tried ehomaki for the first time and also got some ankimo to take home. I added a little tofu to the ankimo. After eating one ehomaki, I was already full. Personally, I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for a stronger eel flavor. Maybe I should have bought an eel roll too, but I was already full.

Thank you for all your hard work this year! To celebrate, I went to my favorite eel restaurant at Umeda Hankyu. I make sure to visit this place at least once in the summer and once in the winter every year. The eel here is tender and absolutely delicious, with no unpleasant smell at all! Every time I come, I seriously debate whether to get hitsumabushi or unaju... This time, I went with unaju and it was so delicious! It really helped me forget about the year-end fatigue. Some eel restaurants may leave you feeling like you didn't get your money's worth, but the eel here remains delicious until the last bite. If you love eel, you will definitely appreciate how tasty it is here. ⭐︎
