On August 3, 2019, a Saturday, which was a holiday, my wife and I went out for drinks in Upper Shinjo for the first time in a while. We visited a restaurant that we were curious about through Instagram. We didn't make a reservation and just walked in, but the restaurant was fully booked. However, they were kind enough to accommodate us for a late reservation. Thank you very much!
The restaurant specializes in creative teppanyaki dishes, offering a wide range of menu items such as okonomiyaki, yakisoba, teppanyaki Chinese dishes, and smoked dishes. The drink menu is also extensive, including sake, shochu, and awamori. We started with a toast with draft beer. We ordered the most popular dish, pork okonomiyaki, smoked dish assortment, salmon and avocado salad, and stir-fried shrimp and asparagus with salt sauce.
The pork okonomiyaki had a slightly sour sauce with a mild sweetness. As someone from Hiroshima, I prefer a sweeter sauce like the one from Otafuku. Nevertheless, this one was delicious in its own way. The flour-based dishes are always tasty. My wife, who loves shrimp, really enjoyed the stir-fried shrimp and asparagus with salt sauce. Although we didn't order them this time, the Chinese dishes, yakisoba, and meat dishes on the menu all looked very appealing. The staff were all young, cheerful, and energetic, providing great service. It was a pretty good experience. Definitely worth a revisit!
Since we finished early, we decided to continue the night with a second stop. Stay tuned for the next part of our night out! Thank you for the wonderful meal!
