I visited for the first time. The hotel's Chinese-style restaurant has a luxurious atmosphere. I ordered beer at first, and from the second glass onwards, I requested a bottle of Shaoxing wine served warm. The menu was a course for 19,000 yen. - Chilled appetizer: This was simply delicious. - Special steamed soup with high-quality dried abalone and Chinese dried ingredients: This was incredibly delicious. The soup, simmered for 6 hours, had a deep and flavorful broth that seemed good for the body. The hot soup was piping hot, warming both body and soul. - Stir-fried Japanese beef fillet with XO sauce: The thick Hokkaido beef fillet was incredibly tender and juicy. The dish was served in a crispy spring roll-like wrapper, allowing for a complete and delicious meal. - Steamed live spiny lobster with vegetable sauce: The lobster was boldly sliced in half, and enjoyed with glass noodles soaked in the lobster's flavor. The vegetable sauce was also incredibly delicious. - Chinese congee with dried scallops: The texture of the leeks and the aroma of cilantro combined to create a satisfying dish. - Special dessert assortment: A generous serving of fruit, mango pudding, sesame dumplings, and fruit. The mango pudding, with various fruits mixed in, was delicious and refreshing. The food, the staff's service, and the atmosphere were all wonderful. Chef Wang frequently came out to the dining area, interacting with customers. I had a great time chatting with him. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again. It was truly delicious. Thank you for the feast!

Date of visit: 8/1/2023 Dinner Ordered: Special dinner course (including the head chef's specialty "Buddha Jumps Over the Wall" and 6 other dishes), Premium Malt's Master's Dream Brewery Dream 440ml First visit of August. I suddenly felt like having Chinese food on a Sunday and made a last-minute reservation. Even though I wasn't in the mood for Chinese food today, I went ahead and left for the reservation time at 7:00 PM. I took a free bus from Umeda to The Westin Hotel. The restaurant, Koguu, has even won a Michelin star in the past. It had a spacious and elegant atmosphere with several tables, and there were only a few customers. There were three course options, with the top one being too expensive at 30,000 yen, so I chose the middle one at just under 20,000 yen. It included the specialty dish, so it seemed worth it. The drinks were also varied but expensive, with draft beer priced at 1,750 yen. The dishes I received were roughly as follows: - Chilled lobster with caviar and apple mango - Steamed soup with high-quality dried abalone (aged 5 years in Iwate Yosihama) and Chinese dried ingredients, beef, pork, and scallops - Braised live Ezobou (150g) with Chinese oyster sauce, winter melon, and ensai - Sautéed pork fillet with black vinegar sauce - Koguu's special cold noodles - Assorted desserts (including Shizuoka musk melon) Overall, the flavors were rich but not overpowering. It was interesting to compare the dried and live abalone. The pork fillet I was looking forward to was different than expected, more like sweet and sour pork. The spicy cold noodles at the end were a nice touch. I enjoyed the abalone more than I thought I would. The meal cost about 20,000 yen and lasted about 70 minutes. Thank you for the feast.

I visited this Chinese restaurant located inside The Westin Hotel when I was on a business trip to Osaka. I don't know much about dining options in Kansai, so I thought hotel food would be a safe bet. After arriving at Shin-Osaka on the Shinkansen, I made a reservation from a taxi and went straight there. The restaurant was spacious and had an older clientele, with some foreign guests as well. The staff were very polite and provided excellent service. Since I didn't have much time before my meeting, I ordered a course meal and requested it to be served quickly. I was able to finish my meal in just over an hour as requested. The food was all delicious. In particular, the steamed shrimp was sweet and incredibly tasty, and the soft abalone soup with truffle was a winning flavor combination. The abalone was very tender, and I would come back just for this soup. I had a luxurious and satisfying lunch, and I will definitely visit this top-notch Chinese restaurant again when I return to Osaka.

I enjoyed a course meal where I could luxuriously savor a whole spiny lobster from the first dish. It was almost a shame to finish it. The second dish had succulent snow crab and a large piece of shark fin that melted in my mouth. Please go and try it for yourself! This restaurant offers Chinese cuisine with luxurious high-quality ingredients. The interior is spacious and has a calm atmosphere.

First of all, let me say that there is a dress code here (lol). It was over 30 degrees on this day, so I showed up in my usual shorts and polo shirt, but I was stopped at the reception. Thanks to the staff's quick thinking, I was able to borrow pants and finally enter, causing some inconvenience... Now, on to the lunch course. Overall, the seasoning was strong, but not too heavy. The scallop and winter melon soup that came out as the second dish was probably the most delicious. Also, the vegetable soup that came with the abalone was impressive. It's great when the soup is delicious in Chinese cuisine, like with the scallops. By the way, in terms of quantity, the dessert at the end may have had the most impact. It was a Chinese dessert all-star with almond tofu, tapioca coconut milk, and Chinese castella cake (lol). Recommended for lunch meetings!

Visited the restaurant upon invitation from a customer. The atmosphere was nice, and I had high expectations for the food. The meal included five appetizers, steamed soup with oxtail, eggplant and chicken meatballs with sea urchin XO sauce, steamed Hokkaido abalone, vegetable sauce, Chinese congee with domestic beef, daikon mochi, and a special dessert assortment (mango pudding and melon). Everything was incredibly delicious. The 160g giant abalone had a satisfying texture and was very chewy. The dishes seemed to be inspired by Chinese herbal medicine, making them gentle on the stomach. This was my first experience with such Chinese cuisine, and it was a delightful and enjoyable meal with the customer. Thank you for the feast. I would love to visit again.

I finally visited the long-awaited Kogetsuan! This time, I chose the gourmet lunch course (5500 yen). -Kogetsu Special Appetizer Assortment: Grilled pork belly simmered in honey, minced squid and crab stick seaweed roll, mixed vegetable yuba roll, cucumber in spicy sweet vinegar, tomato soaked in osmanthus flower Chen shu, jellyfish daikon roll, conger eel and minced beef patty, steamed chicken in cold dressing. -Scallop and winter melon soup: The scallops are crispy and fried, so you can enjoy them with the soup while they're still crispy. The thick scallops and crispy winter melon are a perfect match, creating a unique soup that you won't find anywhere else. Delicious. -Japanese beef fillet wrapped in shrimp: The tender fillet is wrapped with plump shrimp, making it more substantial than it looks. -Steamed Ezo abalone with vegetable sauce: The abalone is soft yet has a crunchy texture, providing a great sense of satisfaction! The soup drizzled on top is rich in dashi flavor and absolutely delicious! Enjoying it with Chinese cabbage and glass noodles makes for a gentle and happy taste. -Stir-fried noodles with five kinds of vegetables and radish cake: The stir-fried noodles have a strong oyster sauce flavor, with finely chopped vegetables and noodles making it easy to eat. The oily texture pairs well with Chinese tea. The shredded omelet on top also adds to the beautiful presentation. The radish cake was a bit heavy at first, but it's soft and easy to eat, with a chewy texture and a delicious aroma. -Coconut tapioca, almond jelly, and Maraca: Maraca was my first time trying it, with a moist texture and a subtly sweet and delicious taste! The dessert was also generous in portion! Overall, the dishes were gently seasoned with good portion sizes, making me very satisfied. Despite it being lunchtime, the head chef greeted each table, making me feel like it's a popular restaurant. Thank you for celebrating my birthday! I will definitely come back!

I made a same-day reservation at 1:00 PM. I chose the cheaper option for the lunch course, but above all, the black abalone soup was incredibly delicious. The aroma of black truffles and the broth were a perfect match. The noodles were also delicious. I was happy with the melon dessert.

Had a delicious and fun girls' lunch at the "Kokyu" restaurant on the 3rd floor of The Westin Hotel Osaka. Mr. O came to our table several times and even took a commemorative photo with us. Today's menu included a mouth-watering lunch course for 8,500 yen, featuring dishes such as abalone, sea cucumber wrapped in daikon, assorted vegetable yuba rolls, stir-fried conger eel with seasonal vegetables, steamed soup with ox tail, beef fillet with fish sauce, shrimp fried rice, and a dessert platter with musk melon, almond tofu, kiwi fruit, lotus seed paste, coconut dumplings, and goji berries. The lunch here is very satisfying and I would love to come back again.

I made a reservation for a private room at Kyo-Kyoto for a dinner gathering. The staff, who were attentive and accommodating, made sure our group of 3 to 5 people had a pleasant and enjoyable experience throughout the meal. Despite a minor mishap during the meal, they kindly offered a complimentary dish as an apology, showcasing their high level of hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, although I only have this one photo as I got caught up in the atmosphere and forgot to take more pictures... (laughs) Thank you for everything.

After two years, I had a meal with my senior at a restaurant in Umeda for lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant had a calm atmosphere and was very delicious. I couldn't find my favorite restaurant on the list, so I decided to go to the Westin Hotel Osaka's Chinese restaurant "Kokyu." Today, surprisingly, it was not full and the head chef commented, "How unusual." The course included Kokyu's special appetizer assortment, shrimp and black truffle soup, simmered live abalone with oyster sauce, steamed pork fillet with black bean flavor, five-ingredient fried rice, and Kokyu's special dessert assortment. Everything was delicious as always, but the abalone was especially to my liking. I recommend the course with the steamed soup. This time, I chose a more affordable course, so it wasn't included. I will definitely come back for the steamed soup next time. Thank you for the meal.

It had been a while since I met up with a former colleague from the company I used to work for. We decided to have dinner in Umeda, and my senior requested a quiet, calm restaurant with delicious food, even if it was a bit pricey. Since it was a Sunday and Umeda was expected to be crowded, I chose the reliable and stable option of Kogosho. The course included: Kogosho's special assorted appetizers, shrimp and black truffle soup, simmered Ezo abalone with oyster sauce, steamed pork fillet with black bean flavor, five-ingredient fried rice, and Kogosho's special dessert assortment. The most delicious dish of the course was the black truffle soup, which was absolutely amazing. I always choose a course that includes Kogosho's special steamed soup, and this time the soup was also excellent. Kogosho's soups are always top-notch. We were able to enjoy our meal slowly and peacefully in a quiet atmosphere.

The philosophy of "food is medicine" and the high-class soup "Buddha Jumps Over the Wall," which takes 8 days to cook. It is said that even monks would jump over the wall for its delicious aroma. When you start drinking it, your body immediately feels warm and it seems really good for your health... Maybe it can even cure a cold, who knows! (^^)

Today, I went to dine at the Chinese restaurant "Gokoku" located in The Westin Osaka, where I tried the Chef's special course prepared by Chef Wang Xiansheng. With a reputation of winning Michelin stars for 9 consecutive years, the dishes were not only delicious but also aimed at promoting the harmony between food and health. The specialty dried abalone and Chinese dried seafood steamed soup were particularly delightful, bringing a sense of comfort to both body and soul. The elegant atmosphere of the hotel's Chinese restaurant, along with the flavors that suited my taste, made me want to come back for more. Highly recommended! The dinner course for today was priced at 73,100 yen for 2 people, with the Chef's special course priced at 30,000 yen. The menu included a special appetizer assortment, dried abalone and Chinese dried seafood steamed soup, stir-fried live Japanese tiger prawn and sea urchin with XO sauce, steamed whole live Ise lobster from Wakayama, special fried rice with dried sea cucumber from Rausu, and a special dessert assortment.

Before starting my food log, I visited "Kokyu" several times. For my first lunch of 2023, I made a reservation and visited. Once again, I toasted with white wine. - Kokyu's special assorted appetizers were all delicious and paired well with the wine. - Special steamed soup with domestic high-quality dried abalone and Chinese dried seafood. Kokyu is known for serving healthy dishes. - Miso stir-fried domestic beef fillet wrapped in crepe. The generous amount of fillet and sweet miso were delicious. - Braised Ezo deer in oyster sauce. Tender and I wanted to pour this delicious sauce over rice. - Seafood fried rice. Fluffy and filled with shrimp, squid, and scallops. - Kokyu's special dessert assortment. Enjoy almond tofu and mango pudding on one plate. The head chef personally came to each table to greet us. It's nice to be bid farewell, but being greeted at the beginning makes the food taste even better. Slightly tipsy from lunch, I was completely satisfied. Thank you for the feast. ❤️

I made a reservation about a week ago and visited for lunch. The restaurant was full. While they also offer a la carte options, I chose the course menu for the year-end and New Year holidays, which costs 8,000 yen. The menu included chilled amberjack marinated in kombu, an appetizer assortment of jellyfish, cucumber, and cherry tomatoes, black truffle soup with large crispy fried prawns, scallops and king crab stir-fry with XO sauce, steamed Ezo abalone with Chinese liquor, rice sticks and wide vermicelli-like noodles with char siu, and for dessert, castella cake, mango pudding, and tapioca. The flavors were excellent, and the service was outstanding from start to finish. The level has definitely improved over the past few years.
