Sojin Project
Actually, I like raw tomatoes, but I'm not a big fan of ketchup or tomato sauce. However, when it comes to omurice, which typically has chicken rice with ketchup, the national chain restaurant "Pom no Ki" offers the option of butter rice in addition to ketchup rice. I occasionally visit this restaurant. I ordered a draft beer (medium) for 480 yen (tax included), specifically Kirin Ichiban Shibori. This branch in Namba Parks is called "Gold," and I was curious about what that meant until I saw the menu. Unlike before, where pre-made omurice with various toppings was lined up, now you can choose your own sauce and toppings. Of course, there are also pre-made omurice options listed in the menu. In the photo above, you can see the omurice I assembled. I chose butter-flavored rice with cream sauce for 890 yen, and added toppings of mushrooms for 110 yen and crab cream croquette for 200 yen, bringing the total to 1,200 yen. It turns out that adding toppings can make the price higher than pre-made omurice with toppings. I cut into the omurice. The egg was a bit thick, and the crab cream croquette had a crispy coating. The butter-flavored rice and cream sauce paired well together, especially with the mushrooms. The menu also featured gratin, including macaroni gratin, rice gratin, and even spaghetti gratin, which is quite rare. There are other pre-made dishes listed in the menu book as well.
