This place offers great value for money. It's a little away from the city center, but they have a beef yakiniku set for 750 yen, fried rice for 500 yen, and other cheap and delicious options. The atmosphere is good, and the owner is friendly. If you order a highball, they make it strong with a 7:3 ratio. In the winter, I recommend trying their fin sake.

1. Omelette set meal 550 yen
2. Omurice 600 yen
3. Hamburg steak set meal 700 yen
4. Chicken karaage 500 yen
A hearty and wallet-friendly local diner in town. The omelette is fluffy with plenty of minced meat and onions. The omurice is generously topped with ketchup on chicken rice. The hamburg steak is soft and juicy. The chicken karaage is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Despite ordering the usual, the flavors live up to the restaurant's name, evoking a nostalgic taste of Showa era. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I had been interested in this restaurant for a while because it seemed to have a nice atmosphere. I went in alone for dinner. The inside was small, but there were many regular customers. It was a weekend night, so everyone was enjoying drinks and sushi. I ordered the fried chicken set meal for 700 yen and added a chawanmushi for an extra 100 yen. I also asked for extra rice for 50 yen. The staff brought me a warm towel and hot tea, which was a nice gesture. The food was surprisingly delicious. The well-seasoned fried chicken was amazing, and the rice and miso soup were also very tasty. Even though there was a notice saying they reduced one piece of fried chicken, it was still plenty. I was glad I asked for extra rice. The sushi they serve might be why the rice was so good. When I finished my meal and paid, the chef thanked me and said, "Thank you," "Sorry for the wait," and "Good job." It was unnecessary, but I was grateful for the warm hospitality. The atmosphere, food, and staff were all warm and welcoming. Despite being a solo diner, I was treated with such care. Thank you very much! I definitely plan on going back. In these times, a restaurant that offers such delicious food at such affordable prices, along with great service, is truly the best.

I visited "Ajimaru" in Chuo Ward Torikai. I ordered the fried chicken set meal (700 yen). The restaurant has counter seats and sunken kotatsu seats. When I sat at the counter, I was asked if I wanted hot tea or cold tea, so I requested cold tea and was served barley tea in a jug. It's nice to have it in a jug, very convenient! After ordering, I waited a few minutes and then my meal arrived! The set meal included a mountain of fried chicken, salad, macaroni, and apple slices cut like rabbits. The fried chicken pieces were a good size, not too big, about 7-8 pieces. They had a crispy texture and a well-seasoned taste, not too garlicky but with a good flavor. I could eat as many as I wanted! It's a simple thing, but having macaroni salad and apple rabbits is so nice... I quickly finished my meal and thought I'd like to come back at night to try their sushi and hot pot. Thank you for the meal!

A casual dining establishment that serves sushi. Visited with two others for lunch. The restaurant was run by a middle-aged couple. There were counter seats and raised tatami seating available. We chose one of the raised tatami tables. The table had a sunken area underneath, making it comfortable to sit with legs down. Hot tea was served in large teacups, while cold drinks were served in beer mugs. We ordered a bottle of Sapporo beer for 550 yen. We also ordered the "jou sushi" set for 3 people at 1,700 yen. We were given a choice of miso soup or clear soup, and we chose the clear soup. Additionally, we were served chawanmushi, which was delicious in the cool air-conditioned room. The main sushi set included 9 pieces on a plate. It consisted of squid, egg, salmon roe, sea bream, tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, eel, and sea urchin. The thick eel surprised us, and the yellowtail had a refreshing texture. The sea bream was perfectly ripe, and the squid had a beautifully cut surface that was easy to eat. We also ordered two rolls, and they seemed to be filled with tuna. The price was not clear, but based on the total bill, it may have been 250 yen each.

I wandered around near Ohori Park in Fukuoka, a high-end residential area, with no intention of breaking into any houses. I parked my car for 200 yen for 80 minutes and looked for a restaurant that could offer me something to eat. I stumbled upon a reasonably priced restaurant in the Torikai area of Fukuoka's Chuo Ward. It seemed like sushi was their specialty, with a variety of affordable set meals on the menu. I decided to try their sushi, ordering the Medium Sushi set for 1300 yen. The sushi, consisting of tuna, squid, octopus, salmon, sea bream, shrimp, amberjack, and sea urchin battleship sushi with tamago yaki, was served on a plate along with clear soup. The size of the sushi was average, with slightly less rice and a firm grip. The wasabi was not very strong, and the texture of the amberjack and sea bream stood out. However, the tuna was a bit cold, likely due to being partially thawed. The squid turned out to be cuttlefish. The soy sauce was surprisingly spicy, which was unusual. Overall, the experience was not particularly impressive. The two customers before me were having a Makunouchi bento, while the three customers after me ordered different set meals, which were prepared in the kitchen at the back of the counter. As I left the restaurant, I noticed that it was located in the Maruman Building, indicating that the restaurant was successful in its business.

I had lunch with a coworker at a traditional restaurant with a warm curtain. The atmosphere was nice, so we decided to try it out. In the evening, they serve sushi at this izakaya-style restaurant, and there is a small fish tank inside. The place was full, with a few construction workers and housewives. We ordered the tonkatsu set for 800 yen and the karaage set for 700 yen. Both dishes had generous portions. The potato salad and fresh vegetables on the side were also satisfying. The tonkatsu was thin and wide, while the karaage was piled high like a mountain.

During a break from work, I used this place that caught my eye nearby. All the dishes are reasonably priced, so it was bustling with business people.
- Instead of alcohol, they offer "cold tea" ^^
- Menu includes set meals, rice bowls, and sushi.
- Regular Sushi (800 yen) includes yellowtail, squid, tuna, shrimp nigiri, inari, and rolls. The rolls were filling with plenty of rice, regardless of the taste.
- "Chawanmushi" included with the regular sushi has basic ingredients like ginkgo nuts and a good taste of egg soup.
- Miso soup.
- Tekka Don (550 yen) had a small amount of rice. Miso soup included. The tuna may be thin and sparse due to the price.
There was someone behind me having the "karaage set meal" and the karaage was piled high. If you want to eat a lot at a reasonable price or have a business lunch, this place is good.

I went to Sushi House in Rokumonmatsu to buy sushi rolls for Setsubun, but the owner apologized and said they were only taking reservations this year. I thought of Maruman nearby, a place I had always wanted to visit, and luckily they had a sign saying "Setsubun rolls for 350 yen". The owner greeted me warmly and the restaurant had a calm and cozy atmosphere with lots of lucky charms. I bought the Setsubun roll and enjoyed it with my family at home, facing the lucky direction of "south-southeast". The sushi was delicious with vinegared rice and sweet egg. It was a great meal. Oni wa soto, fuku wa uchi!

I have known about this restaurant for 7-8 years, even though it is not in a very accessible location, they have been working hard and operating for a long time. During the year-end, they were selling pre-ordered party platters, priced at 10,000 yen and 15,000 yen. I was curious but decided to pass on it since I had never visited the place before and was unsure about the taste. When I entered the restaurant, it looked like a very ordinary izakaya with counter seats and table seats. There was even a fish tank at the entrance. The owner's service was good, so I decided to order the party platter. When I went to pick it up at the reserved time, the restaurant was filled with ordered party platters. Other customers were adding sashimi platters to their party platters. The party platter was about 50 centimeters in diameter. When I opened it, there were about 30 handmade dishes, ranging from turtle stew to conch shell grilled, and even three types of desserts. The variety of dishes was impressive. There were also snacks like fried chicken and sausages, and the alcohol selection was good too. I enjoyed the delicious food while watching Gaki Tsukai on New Year's Eve. The restaurant is usually a regular dining place, with many local customers. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Fukuoka I went back to my hometown and had lunch near my parents' house. It was a restaurant that was very close to home but I had never visited before. Since I was out drinking late last night, I had a late lunch around 1:30 pm. There is a counter and three tatami rooms that can seat six people each. The welcoming voice was lively and pleasant. The wife brought out cold tea for us, in a big glass! It was refreshing as it was hot outside and my throat was dry. I ordered the hamburger set meal for 700 yen. The sauce was a traditional ketchup with a slightly sweet taste. The hamburger itself was not fluffy but rather firm. In a nutshell, it was a classic Showa-era hamburger. The rice went really well with it! I personally found the sauce a bit too sweet, but the rice was so good! The sunny-side-up egg had a perfectly runny yolk. The potato salad and vegetables were also delicious. The overall balance of the dish was excellent. The miso soup was piping hot, which made me very happy as I prefer hot food. Maybe because they also serve sushi, the rice was really tasty. I would love to visit this place again. Thank you for the meal!

The other day, on my way back from running errands, I decided to visit a small shop I spotted from the car window. The exterior was unassuming, but it seemed to be popular with office workers who came in sporadically. The shop had a lot of manga on TV and seemed to appeal to men. Other than the owner making sushi behind the counter, it looked like a typical diner. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm towel and complimentary tea service. You could even choose between hot and cold tea, and when I ordered cold tea, it came in a jug, like a highball! The sushi menu had reasonable prices displayed along the counter. There were also various rolls on the menu, and looking further, there were set meals like grilled meat, croquette, hamburger, and fried rice. Most of the office workers were actually having non-sushi meals. The menu also included hot pot dishes, izakaya-style dishes, and a selection of alcohol. I asked the server where the lunch menu ended, and she said, "You can order anything." I decided to try some snacks, like beef tendon daikon and pig trotters. The beef tendon daikon had a homey sweet flavor, while the pig trotters were tender and crispy on the outside. I refrained from drinking alcohol because I had a facial appointment later, but I really wanted to. My coworker shared a filling sushi set, and the rice was like onigiri, so we were full by the end. You can also order hand-rolled sushi by the piece. Next time, I want to try the pig trotters with tobiko battleship rolls. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. The nearby coin parking I used charged 100 yen for 60 minutes.
