Located on the way from Osaka Port Station to the Kaiyukan Aquarium, this restaurant offers a unique dish called Chawanmushi Ramen. The top layer of the bowl is chawanmushi (savory egg custard) while the bottom layer consists of noodles, creating an impressive combination. The broth is flavorful yet light, with a rich taste. The number of eggs used in the dish is intriguing. The Tsuru Ramen, made with chicken broth and charred vegetables, is also a delicious choice. The tender, melt-in-your-mouth chashu is a highlight. During lunch hours from 11:30 to 13:30, you can enjoy free upgrades to a large portion, rice, or bread with each ramen order. The restaurant only has counter seating. [Menu Ordered] - Chawanmushi Ramen 950 yen - Tsuru Ramen 950 yen

I tried tea-steamed ramen for the first time! The conclusion is... tea-steamed is tea-steamed, and ramen is better eaten as ramen. But you won't know until you try. You have to try it to know. It turned out to be a good experience. (╹◡╹)

This time, I visited a ramen restaurant called "Tanchou" near Osaka Port Station on the Subway Chuo Line, close to the Kaiyukan aquarium. This restaurant is famous for its Chawanmushi Ramen and has been featured on TV shows such as "Yo-i Don," "Magical Restaurant," and "Nanikore Chin Hyakkei." It is also a specialty of Tempozan. What I ate: - Chawanmushi Ramen: The Chawanmushi Ramen is covered with a layer of chawanmushi on top, with thick and rich chashu and kamaboko on top. As you break the chawanmushi with a spoon, you will find medium-thin straight noodles, ingredients (bean sprouts, leeks), and the broth overflowing. The chawanmushi itself is delicious and the broth is rich, creating a perfect harmony with the chawanmushi. The overall taste is Japanese-style and satisfyingly delicious. It was my first time trying this combination of chawanmushi and ramen, and I was a bit skeptical at first, but it turned out to be amazing. I would love to eat it again. Thank you for the meal.

We went to a ramen restaurant that we had seen on TV, as other shops unexpectedly closed. The restaurant had only counter seats, and there were many masks hanging to protect from flames, as they also had menu items that required fire. We ordered the Chawanmushi Ramen for 950 yen and the regular Chashu Ramen for 1550 yen to share with my companion. The Chawanmushi Ramen was a large bowl with stir-fried vegetables (bean sprouts, leeks, etc.) and noodles at the bottom. Towards the end, thick slices of chashu and kamaboko appeared. The stir-fried vegetables had a strong pepper flavor, which didn't quite match well with the dish. I felt like it would be better if it was a collaboration with udon instead of ramen. Next, we had the Chashu Ramen, which had plenty of thinly sliced chashu that had been seared with a burner. It also had the same stir-fried vegetables as the Chawanmushi Ramen. Both ramen dishes had medium thick curly noodles. The flavor was a mix of tonkotsu and soy sauce, but it wasn't particularly delicious. I'm sorry, but it felt like each element was disconnected from the others. Also, the price of the Chashu Ramen seemed a bit too high. Most of the other ramen dishes, like the braised pork belly ramen, were also priced at 1550 yen, which seemed more geared towards foreign customers. This pricing strategy also seemed odd for the area.

Tonight I am staying at Osaka Port. When in Osaka, I want to try something different to eat. After researching on Tabelog, I found a dish called "Chawanmushi Ramen." Wait, Chawanmushi and Ramen together? The menu also mentioned a Fire version with cheese topping that is flambeed. I'm intrigued... I have to go try it out. I ordered the Chawanmushi Ramen with braised pork topping this time, saving the Fire version for next time. As I watched the cooking process, it seemed they first stir-fried the Ramen ingredients. Were they also boiling the noodles at the same time? When do they make the Chawanmushi? I really want to see inside the kitchen! The counter wall was decorated with face shields used for welding. They must be for the flambe process, right? How intense is it going to be? As I was thinking, the dish arrived. When I opened the lid, I saw a large amount of Chawanmushi with plenty of braised pork on top. I tried the braised pork first and it was so delicious that I wanted a beer to go with it. "Excuse me, add a beer please!" Next, I cautiously dug into the Chawanmushi with a spoon... It was a proper Chawanmushi with a substantial amount. This Chawanmushi is so good, I could eat endless amounts of it. When I used chopsticks to dig deeper, the noodles appeared. It was like slightly thinner champon noodles. I realized that the dish had layers of Ramen ingredients, soup, noodles, Chawanmushi, and toppings. It's interesting. I mixed it halfway through and it was really good! Thank you for the meal, I want to try the Flambe Fire version next time!

The voice saying "Welcome!" made a great impression. I ordered chawanmushi ramen, and when I opened the lid, there was something like fumi on top, which tasted like yuzu pepper. It had a slight spiciness to it. As I ate the chawanmushi, noodles and vegetables came out. The thickness of the noodles was neither thick nor thin, and the firmness was more soft than hard. It was a new sensation ramen and I felt very excited!! It was incredibly delicious!! It was a bit disappointing that the restroom in the restaurant was a Japanese-style toilet...

Visited at 11:56 on a weekday. Despite it being lunchtime, there were still two empty seats and I was able to sit down easily. I ordered the Chawanmushi Ramen for 850 yen. It arrived at 12:09. It was a ramen with a rich Japanese broth topped with a light Chawanmushi. Personally, I felt that the opposite - a light ramen with a rich Chawanmushi - would have been better. The toppings included bean sprouts, fish cake, and small slices of char siu. Overall, it was an interesting experience to try out.

As you can see from the photo of this large egg-shaped object, there are many shops in Osaka with large objects like this. The unique appearance is intriguing, so I had to go in! I ordered their specialty, chawanmushi. After listening to the pleasant sound and smell of vegetables being sautéed for about 10 minutes, the dish arrived. Just as I had read in reviews, the ramen was covered with chawanmushi, which made me excited. The gentle dashi flavor of the chawanmushi warmed my body chilled by the cold outside. Inside, there were stir-fried bean sprouts and leeks, and the noodle soup was light. I personally thought it would be nice to eat them separately, but I ended up finishing the soup as well because of its unexpectedly charming taste. I might want to eat it again...

When I went to the aquarium, I saw a big sign for "Chawanmushi Ramen" and was curious, so I decided to try it! The restaurant only had counter seats, and I ordered the Chawanmushi Ramen for ¥850 and the Cheese Fondue-style Chawanmushi Ramen for ¥1400 because I wanted to take a video. When it was served, they flambéed it right in front of me! There was a generous amount of cheese on top of the chawanmushi. When I scooped it up, it looked like pudding, haha. I first tried the chawanmushi itself, then lifted the noodles underneath. The noodles were thin and straight. The soup was a pork bone soy sauce base with vegetables and chashu. Honestly, I think I would have been happy with just the regular chawanmushi ramen instead of the cheese fondue style. If you're curious, give it a try!

The sea breeze was strong and I was walking unsteadily when the phone rang. After finishing the call, I realized I was right in front of a shop, so I smoothly entered as if I was being invited. There were strange masks, but I just ordered a bowl of steamed ramen. It was surprisingly good! Both the steamed ramen and ramen had a gentle flavor, and even the pepper on the ramen suited the steamed ramen. The owner seems to be a fighter and quite handsome. I would like to try the Fire mask next time!

I went for lunch based on a friend's recommendation! It's located near the Kaiyukan ⭐️ The seating seemed to be only at the counter. I ordered the popular No.1 dish, "Chawanmushi Ramen with Braised Pork" (1400 yen), and my friend ordered the regular "Chawanmushi Ramen" (850 yen)! The specialty ramen here is a surprising dish with chawanmushi on top of the ramen‼️ When you poke through the chawanmushi, noodles come out‼️ Under the silky egg, there are also crispy stir-fried vegetables, making it very delicious✨✨ The braised pork is tender and flavorful✨✨ It's a generous portion‼️ It was even more delicious than I imagined! Thank you for the meal ⭐️

It was delicious! Chawanmushi! But I started to get a little bored halfway through... I ended up breaking it apart and eating it with the noodles, and towards the end, the broth mixed with the chawanmushi, which filled me up. It was quite salty and didn't have a great aftertaste, but it was delicious!! The chashu on the other ramen had a nice chewy texture and was tasty! I still prefer regular broth ramen.

I was drawn in by the promotion of "Chawanmushi Ramen" and decided to give it a try. The deep bowl was filled with plenty of ramen and chawanmushi! The portion was quite generous, but it was so delicious with a flavorful broth that I finished it all in no time! I was also happy to see a pitcher of water placed in front of my table. The pitcher had a stylish design on it, which I liked. It's conveniently located near the Kaiyukan and the train station, so I highly recommend stopping by. The restroom was Japanese-style, but it was impeccably clean and well-maintained!

Visited after 12 o'clock. There were no other customers at first, and only one person came later. You can enjoy your meal slowly. I ordered the most popular dish, Steamed Ramen with Braised Pork (1400 yen including tax). I was told that I could choose either extra noodles or rice as a lunch service, so I chose extra noodles. The braised pork was incredibly tender, it crumbled easily when picked up with chopsticks and melted in the mouth. Since the amount of soup is small, enjoy the large serving of steamed egg custard and its broth while slurping the noodles.

At Osaka Port, at Tancho-san, I thought I was getting a bowl full of chawanmushi, but noodles came out from inside. Probably the only place to get "Chawanmushi Ramen." It was rich and went well with alcohol. The pork belly was also tender and delicious. Check out the video here: [link to video]

Every time I pass by this restaurant on my way to the aquarium, I've been curious about it. I love chawanmushi, so the chawanmushi ramen priced at 850 yen seems reasonable to me, but I feel like the other menu items are a bit expensive. I wonder if the braised pork is really delicious. The chawanmushi ramen is a beautiful chawanmushi without any grains. The taste is just right. It's a delicious chawanmushi. I wonder how they make this menu item... I was worried that the noodles might get soggy, but they didn't. It's like the noodles you use to finish off a hot pot. The only ingredients are a little bean sprouts and leeks, but as a chawanmushi lover, I have no complaints. The soup is surprisingly rich, so maybe they're trying to balance it out to appeal to everyone? I wish they would try making it with a lighter soup!

I came to Tenpozan. After visiting places like the Kaiyukan, it was time for lunch. I wanted to eat somewhere other than the Market Place, so I did some research and came across this restaurant. I was curious about the "Chawanmushi Ramen." Apparently, they also serve braised pork! So, I ordered the Chawanmushi Ramen with braised pork. It was before 12 o'clock, so there were no other customers yet. Outside, they were replaying a local gourmet TV show that had previously featured this place. The Chawanmushi Ramen arrived! When I opened the lid, it was just a big serving of Chawanmushi (laughs) with braised pork on top. I tried the Chawanmushi first, and it was delicious. When eaten with the ramen... since it's hard to mix the solid parts, I slurped the ramen first and then sipped the Chawanmushi like soup. The ramen had a bit of pepper flavor, and it had crunchy bean sprouts and leeks in it. The pepper's kick was balanced out by the mellow Chawanmushi. The braised pork was also really tasty! Overall, it's like, it's worth a try but not a must-try (laughs). It's like, you should experience it at least once! Thank you for the meal!

Shop Name: Tanchou Nearest Station: 5-minute walk from Osaka-kou Station Tabelog Score: 3.47✨ Specialty: Chawanmushi Ramen! Recommendation: Chawanmushi Ramen with Braised Pork I heard about Chawanmushi Ramen for the first time in my life and was a bit hesitant because it sounded unfamiliar, but I decided to go on my girlfriend's recommendation! The place was unique and quirky both inside and outside! I ordered the Chawanmushi Ramen right away. The Chawanmushi alone was delicious with a rich broth! The ramen inside, with the addition of yuzu pepper, was also very tasty! It was a hidden gem that makes you want to go back. If you're looking for lunch around Kaiyukan or Tempozan, definitely try the Chawanmushi Ramen!

I tried the famous Chawanmushi Ramen at Tempozan. I added braised pork as a topping. At first, I was unsure about how it would taste, but after trying it, I found it surprisingly good! It can be seen as a new type of food. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the meal.

Visited around 12:30. There were only two customers in the 11-seat counter. I ordered the second most popular dish, the Chawanmushi ramen (850 yen tax included). The volume of the Chawanmushi was impressive! It was thick and would be irresistible for Chawanmushi lovers. The noodles were thin with a good firmness, and the soup had a Japanese-style dashi base with a strong saltiness but a gentle flavor. The amount of vegetables and other ingredients was minimal, but not really necessary to enjoy the Chawanmushi. It was a very unique dish. By the way, when I asked the chef if I could get extra noodles, he said it was possible.
