This is a cheap and delicious restaurant in Nishinari. The shumai is big like a meat bun and very affordable. The gyoza is also cheap! When you order a chu-hi or highball, they come really strong (lol). If you want to get drunk quickly, Senbero is recommended!

Located a short walk from the Tsutenkaku Tower in Tennoji-ku, Osaka, this restaurant is tucked away on a quiet side street away from the bustling crowds. The prices are very affordable and the value for money is excellent. The standout dish for me was the gyoza - the crispy char on the gyoza skins was just right and exactly to my liking. I stopped by a casual izakaya near Tsutenkaku, focusing on gyoza. The interior had an L-shaped counter and two tables in the back. The customers seemed to be regulars from the local area. Since it had gotten colder, I ordered oden - daikon and egg for 100 yen each, and beef tendon for 120 yen. I enjoyed them with some hot sake. I chatted with what seemed to be the manager, who appeared to be of continental descent. It had nothing to do with it, but I couldn't help but wonder if that's why the gyoza tasted so good. Well, gyoza isn't originally from there anyway. We ordered two servings of gyoza - 6 pieces for 300 yen each. It was quite ordinary. As my body warmed up, I switched to highball with shochu and soda, accompanied by stir-fried vegetables and small shrimp tempura. This place is more about enjoying conversation over drinks and snacks rather than focusing on the food. It felt like a community spot for locals.
