Today's schedule is left to my partner. I have no idea where we are going. It could be a challenge dish or multiple meals, who knows? My dinner plans for today are completely dependent on my partner, so I nervously look out the window while dozing off. Where am I? Have we arrived? I get out of the car with a groggy head and follow my partner, looking around in confusion. Oh, it's here! It's a Western-style restaurant I've been to before. They have delicious omurice and a variety of set meals. We arrived before the opening time, and there is a big menu sign in front of the restaurant with tempting photos. Oyster fry is available now, but I'm not sure if I can handle it after just waking up. Last time, the rice was a bit off, so I was thinking of getting the omurice next time, but that's also heavy for a sleepy start. Oh, what should I eat? As we wait, more customers arrive for the opening. And then the restaurant opens. It quickly fills up with customers. We are seated at the counter and I look at the menu, but my partner seems to have already decided what to eat. He orders the Chicken Combo (fried chicken, chicken cutlet, chicken nanban) with free extra cabbage and pasta, and an option to add a large portion of omurice for an additional 300 yen, along with a cola. I quickly decide on the hamburger and pork cutlet set with a ginger ale. I ask for extra cabbage as I know I consume a lot of it. The restaurant is run by a single chef, so we need to be patient for the food to arrive. The chef apologizes for the wait and brings out the hamburger and pork cutlet plate for me, followed by my partner's fried chicken and chicken cutlet combo omurice. Then comes the miso soup, rice, and we are ready to eat. Let's dig in! The extra cabbage is fresh and the dressing has a nice Japanese flavor. The hamburger is thick and juicy, not too flavorful, but the demi-glace sauce adds a nice touch. The pork cutlet is crispy on the outside and tender inside, with a delicious sauce. And the rice today is perfect! The pickled mustard greens in a small jar are also tasty. I forgot to ask for a small portion, but I finish it all! Homemade Western-style food that suits my taste is a luxurious and satisfying experience. My partner seems to be enjoying the food, but there seems to be a slight discomfort. Yes, the omurice portion was quite large, and he didn't realize it at first. He ate it all, but there was a sense of unfulfillment. He finishes his ginger ale and sighs. Time to go home! As we get back in the car, my partner looks at the receipt and realizes that the omurice wasn't actually a large portion. Oh well, we'll come back again. I start thinking about what to eat next time. It's okay to revisit a delicious restaurant as many times as we want.
