In Fukuoka, you can enjoy delicious herbal curry, which is not often seen (at least not by me). The spiciness levels are mild, medium, and hot, but true to herbal curry, it starts with a slight spiciness and then gradually intensifies, making you sweat. By the way, the coffee was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunch was lucky because I was able to rent a car. While driving along the road, I came across a store called "Koji Tokei" next to a Yamazaki store. It had "curry" written on it, and I felt like having some curry, so I decided to go in. When I opened the door, I saw autographs of Shoko-tan and FBS Mentai Wide. I put on slippers and entered the store. Inside, there were 4-5 counter seats and 3 table seats. The store was filled with the delicious aroma of curry. I ordered the Hamburg Curry for 850 yen, which looked delicious. The sauce mixed with the hamburger was delightful, and the vegetables were generously served. It's recommended for those who want to leisurely enjoy their curry.

This is a mysterious curry restaurant attached to a convenience store in Kaburi. Here, you can enjoy delicious herbal curry made with plenty of medicinal herbs. I visited this restaurant for lunch as I had a meeting at a hospital in Itoshima. When I entered the store next to the convenience store and took off my shoes, I was greeted by a large antique clock. As the name of the restaurant suggests, there were several antique clocks displayed at the entrance. I ordered the omelette curry from the menu. While waiting for the curry to be ready, a letter written by the owner was placed on the table. Soon, the omelette curry priced at 850 yen was ready. You can choose the level of spiciness for the curry, and I chose the normal one. The curry is topped with warm vegetables and is slowly cooked with the unique aroma of medicinal herbs. The rice is turmeric rice, which goes perfectly with the herbal curry. The curry is made by simmering spices such as cloves, turmeric, cardamom, and garam masala in the curry roux. It has a sweet aroma unique to medicinal herbs, but is also spicy. The restaurant is located next to the convenience store, and the yellow sign is a landmark. It is located in Kaburi fishing port, towards Kaburi from the traffic light. This is a curry restaurant with a mysterious atmosphere. It seems that this curry was originally served in Keigawa, Chikuhou. They called it medicinal curry. There are about four lunch options, but since it was my first time, I ordered the basic one. The curry rice was turmeric rice and the roux was made with various ingredients, it was very fruity and delicious. Inside the restaurant, there was a large clock, which is now rare to see, and many pocket watches lined up.

On a cool Sunday during the rainy season, I decided to have curry for lunch. So, today I went to an old clock in Itoshima City. Looking at the map, it is located near the intersection of the Karatsu Highway heading towards Akeya. Although I occasionally pass by this road, I never noticed that there was a curry restaurant here. The restaurant is located in a building that looks like a combination of a home and a convenience store. The entrance is like the front door of a house. Inside, it feels like the entrance of a home connected to the next room, which serves as the dining area. As the name suggests, there are various clocks of different sizes hanging on the walls. The menu is divided into curry and pilaf. My companion ordered the hamburger curry, while I ordered the full pilaf hamburger. Unfortunately, they were unable to offer set meals that day, as there was only one woman running the place. Looking around the restaurant, I saw a couple and an elderly man waiting for their meals to arrive. The sliding door at the entrance was left open, allowing a cool breeze to pass through the long corridor leading to the back. I could see a sign for massage services at the entrance of the corridor. It seems like they offer various services here. After a short wait, the curry arrived. It was not the herbal curry as listed on the menu, but a delicious curry with a good amount of spices. The pilaf was fragrant but not overpowering. The crispy pilaf had a hamburger placed on top, with a dry curry-like curry sauce drizzled over it. I was curious about what "full pilaf" meant, but it turned out to be a simple and approachable dish. If the curry sauce had been generously poured over the entire dish, not just on top of the hamburger, it would have been perfect. Overall, it was a tasty meal.

I was casually looking for a curry restaurant on Tabelog and came across a new place in Kaburi called "Kokokei." It looked quite retro. So, I decided to visit it right away. The location is at Kaburi Intersection on Route 202 towards Shima. It's located just past Kaburi Post Office next to a convenience store with a shared parking lot. Opening the door, I was greeted by a nostalgic atmosphere. It had a certain charm to it. It felt like visiting a friend's house. The interior was decorated with various clocks of different sizes. I wonder if they have a thing for clocks. Despite assuming that an elderly couple ran the place based on the shop's name, it turned out to be a young couple. Both the husband and wife seemed quite charming. We were seated at a table and given water and menus. The menu mainly consisted of curry and pilaf dishes. The prices were surprisingly affordable, ranging from 600 yen for curry and pilaf (500 yen for a small portion). It made me a bit concerned about the quality due to the low prices. My wife wanted to try the curry, so I opted for the pilaf. I ordered the "Full Pilaf Hamburger" regular size (750 yen). "Full Pilaf" apparently stands for "Kokokei Pilaf." For an additional 200 yen, you could turn it into a lunch set. The set included salad, soup, and bread, all of which were simple yet delicious. The pilaf arrived, showcasing a vibrant orange color. A large hamburger patty topped with curry sauce. I took a bite of the pilaf first, and it was surprisingly unique and delicious. The hamburger covered in curry sauce was tender and juicy, with a great taste. The curry had a strong spice flavor in a paste-like consistency, but it was not overpowering and very easy to eat. The small portion was satisfying, and I debated whether to go for the large portion (additional 100 yen). My wife ordered the "Seafood Curry" small portion (650 yen). The curry rice looked stunning with its turmeric yellow color. The seafood included squid and scallops, which paired well with the curry. The curry roux was delicious, with a strong spice flavor and a deep, authentic taste, yet it also had a homely deliciousness. It felt like a warm home-cooked meal. It's great to find such a stylish and delicious curry place in such a place. I'm happy that another charming curry restaurant has opened in Itoshima.

It was originally planned to go to Tsukamoto Sengyo-ten, but unfortunately it was closed. So we ended up going to another place nearby where my daughter requested curry. When we arrived around 11:40 on a weekday, there were no other customers in the restaurant. We were guided to a parking lot next to the convenience store by an elderly man who came out from inside the restaurant. Inside, we took off our shoes and changed into slippers. There were no child-sized chairs, but there were spoons and forks available, indicating they cater to families with children. The curry menu seemed to offer one basic type with different toppings and spice levels. The portion sizes could be small, medium, or large, and the spiciness could be mild, medium, or hot. The curry was served with turmeric rice only. The owner seemed to be handling everything alone, and I noticed a lot of clocks and manga books decorating the small restaurant. The curry portions were smaller than expected, but the taste was delicious and not too spicy. My daughter enjoyed it and ended up eating most of it. Overall, it was a tasty meal, but I wished the portion sizes were a bit larger.
