I visited the restaurant "Namba Nikugekijou" for lunch on this day. It is located along Otaku Road in Osaka Minami. Even though it was a weekday, the restaurant was quite crowded, showing its popularity. As the name suggests, you can choose various meat bowls to order. I ordered the "Morioka Reimen Set for 1,000 yen," which includes 5 types of meat bowls of your choice, Morioka cold noodles, and a drink. I chose the Harami bowl. The portion size of the bowl and the Morioka cold noodles were both generous, making it a satisfying meal for those with a big appetite. Thank you for the delicious meal!

When I entered the meat theater because I wanted to eat a lot of meat, it was late and there were few customers. They start grilling the meat after taking the order, so it may take a bit of time when it's busy. The bean sprout namul that comes as a side dish is all-you-can-eat, and the namul seasoning is refreshing and easy to eat. I recommend it for when you want to eat meat.

There are 14 types of vending machines with touch panels to buy food tickets. It might be helpful to look at the outside of the store before entering since there are no photos. The rice is free up to a large serving (450g), which may feel a bit lacking, but it's convenient to eat meat. Thank you for the meal.

The Morioka cold noodles set for 1000 yen was ordered. The noodles in the cold noodles were rubbery. The broth was refreshing and delicious. I cannot recommend the cold noodles. The pork kalbi bowl was good with options for sauce and types of meat. The meat was grilled and had a nice aroma. The bean sprout namul was free for seconds (although I didn't have seconds). The seating was cramped and hot, making it uncomfortable.

Today, I was in the mood for some meat. I decided to have lunch at the restaurant I had been eyeing, Namba Nikugekijou, a meat bowl specialty shop. As I entered the unique atmosphere of Otaku Road, I hurried a bit to reach the restaurant. Inside the restaurant, a ticket machine greeted me. Some people were getting takeout as well. Normally, I would hesitate, but this time I had done my research in advance, so I had no problem choosing! I stuck to my initial plan... I was told that the "Garlic Spicy" or "Garlic Extra Spicy" were popular choices, so I went with the "Garlic Extra Spicy." I hadn't researched the sauce though... Oh no! For flavor enhancement, they had Habanero-infused spice from Hachi Foods and pure ground black pepper ready. The white bottle was hand sanitizer. After me, many customers came in seeking meat bowls. The delicious smell of the meat being seared at high heat for the Maillard reaction was irresistible... I ordered the Megane Don (rare cut red meat) for 810 yen. I intended to get the Harami Don, but I was intrigued by the rare cut. From the top... the substantial volume reminded me of my student days... Here's a little trivia about the Megane cut: it's the meat around the cow's pelvis. It combines the tenderness of Harami with the umami of red meat. The name "Megane" comes from its resemblance to glasses, with the pelvis as the frame and the meat as the lens. Some places serve it as yakiniku or steak bowls. The Moyashi Namul was wonderfully moist and crunchy. The sesame oil aroma, texture, and flavor were perfect for a palate cleanser. And definitely a great beer snack! The soup had a rich umami flavor from beef bones. Delicious! After filling my mouth with umami, I tried the meat alone... It had a slightly dry texture but melted in the mouth when chewed, releasing a juicy meaty flavor. The slightly sweet and flavorful garlic sauce with a hint of spiciness complemented it well. Personally, I would have liked even more garlic flavor. Under the meat was more meat... So much volume!! How much meat is in here?! I usually ask for less rice, but they can reduce it by 50g increments, so I requested 200g. On-the-rice is a must... Of course... Delicious! The Habanero-infused spice added a kick and enhanced the flavor! Next, I tried the pure ground black pepper, which transformed the taste into something more Western. I realized I forgot to add Yanninjan... The menu is diverse, and I would love to try more items. It was even more delicious than I had imagined, with a satisfyingly large portion. Thank you for the meal. Delicious Food Diary http://takoyakikun1.blog123.fc2.com/

Namba Niku Gekijou in Nipponbashi, Osaka. There used to always be a line, making it difficult to get in for lunch, but nowadays with the pandemic, there was no line and I was able to get in quickly to have lunch. I ordered the Gekijou Donburi (a bowl with 3 types of meat - kalbi, harami, and seseri). You can choose from a variety of sauces at the ticket machine, but I went with the standard flavor. After a short wait, the meal arrived. The rice portion was large. It's great to have a bowl with such a hearty portion. You can also add Yanninjan, a Korean-style sauce, and enjoy unlimited bean sprouts. Considering the volume of the bowl, it's quite a good deal. The meat was juicy and easy to eat, with seseri offering a refreshing taste, while kalbi and harami had a strong flavor, creating a nice balance. I understand now why there used to be a line. It's a reasonably priced meal with great volume and a taste that Japanese people would enjoy. For those who like spicy food, you can also make it spicy. The service was good and the overall experience was pleasant, making it a place I would like to visit again.

Today I had lunch at Namba Niku Gekijou in Namba! I ordered the large Gekijou Don with extra meat. There seemed to be 13 types of sauces to choose from, so I ordered the garlic sweet sauce. It came out pretty quickly and was delicious. The namul was also tasty, and it seems like you can order more next time I come.

February's monthly project... The 29-match battle of meaty lunches has ended, but the meaty topics continue. "Namba Nikugekijo," a meat bowl specialty shop in Namba, Osaka, offers a 3-kind combo theater bowl for 1,000 yen, including kalbi, harami, and seseri. Normally, adding extra meat costs an additional 150 yen, but here it is free. Additionally, upgrading to a large or special serving of rice is also free, so I opted for extra meat and a special serving of rice. Check out more meaty lunch options in Osaka, Hyogo, and Kyoto in the links provided.

Visited around 1 pm for lunch. Service was slow, had to wait about 30 minutes for a rice bowl dish. Improvement in operations is needed. Despite that, the restaurant was full, indicating its popularity. It's okay to have strict instructions in the kitchen, but when there are many customers waiting, priority should be on serving rather than arguing. Priced from 1310 yen, the taste was average. The sauce felt a bit lacking, but they will add more if requested.

I went on an expedition to Namba and found a reasonably priced restaurant, so I decided to try it out. They had a wide variety of meat bowl options, which seemed perfect for meat lovers. It was quite crowded, so the food took a while to come out. I ordered the cheapest pork bowl, which came with cabbage on top and a large portion of rice. The dish was satisfying with its sweet and savory sauce, and the generous portion left me feeling full and content.

I was really hungry so I was looking for a ramen shop, and there were a lot of them, so I decided to try the one next to it that looked like I could get in. Since I'm on a business trip and don't know when I'll be back, I should probably choose the most popular one. I chose the 4 kinds of ramen set. I picked the sauce and waited. It comes with bean sprout namul, which is nice. The taste is honestly just okay. It's not as flavorful as it looks. Maybe I should have gone for the roast beef bowl or a regular pork bowl at another shop. It's not bad, but don't expect high-quality meat.

When strolling around Namba, I suddenly felt like eating meat while shopping. I searched online and found out that this place is cheap and delicious! There are many maid cafes around here, and you can see maids here and there in the evening. Inside the restaurant, there is a ticket machine right away, and the main seating is at the counter, with a few table seats. The meat and rice combination is the best! The sauce was also really delicious!

Namba Niku Gekijo is a meat bowl specialty restaurant located in Nipponbashi, Osaka, also known as Otaku Road. It is a chain with several locations in Kansai and a few in Tokyo. As the name suggests, they only serve meat bowls, with a variety of options such as kalbi, roast beef, and more. I ordered the Pork Loin Bowl (690 yen), which was topped with sweet and savory pork loin slices in a generous portion. You can choose the spiciness level of the sauce, and it comes with a side of shredded cabbage, egg drop soup, and bean sprout namul. The meat was a bit dry, but the flavorful sauce made up for it. The presentation was impressive, but the menu display on the ticket machine could be clearer. The restaurant only has counter seating, and it felt odd that dishes were served from behind instead of directly from the kitchen. Overall, the experience was satisfying in terms of portion size, but improvements could be made in menu clarity and service flow.

I wanted to eat meat, but my companion couldn't eat that much. I was pondering what to eat when I saw "Namba Niku Gekijou" right in front of me. I was not familiar with the idea of a grilled meat bowl, unlike a beef bowl like gyudon. I entered the restaurant hesitantly, and there was meat placed in front of the counter, where the staff grilled it on the iron plate behind. The open kitchen had a nice smell, and when I ate it, it was delicious. Eating meat on top of rice at a yakiniku restaurant was similar yet different from grilling and eating it myself. The thickness and juiciness of the meat, and the importance of the cooking level became clear to me through this experience.

I saw information on the internet before that the spicy food here is surprisingly spicy. First, you buy a meal ticket at the ticket machine right after entering. The theater bowl costs 1,000 yen (tax included) and includes three types of meat: kalbi, harami, and seseri. There are no signs of extreme spiciness anywhere on the screen! The correct procedure is to inform the staff of your preferred sauce after being seated. The food is indeed spicy, but not as much as expected. The portion size is quite generous, and you can choose the amount of rice. I opted for a large portion, but they also offer an extra-large portion (500g), so if you can eat it, give it a try! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Visit date: Sunday, March 24, 2019, around 8:00 PM. I had just eaten tsukemen at a nearby Daishoken, but I was still hungry. I decided to visit the ramen restaurant called Konshinke next door, but unfortunately, there was a long line. So, I ended up at Namba Niku Gekijo, a restaurant next to Konshinke, for the first time. It seemed to be popular among foreigners, as the customers in front and behind me were Chinese and Korean. I wonder if it's popular on TripAdvisor? I purchased a meal ticket at the entrance ticket machine. Although the Mega Donburi looked tempting, I chose the Harami Donburi as it seemed like a classic choice! I was able to get a free extra serving of rice, so I ordered the large size. The staff cooking seemed to be foreigners or half-Japanese. The atmosphere of this restaurant didn't feel very Japanese to me, but personally, I don't mind that kind of atmosphere. I actually love the unique atmosphere of places like Otaro Road! After waiting for about 10 minutes, the voluminous Harami Donburi was served! There was a lot of shredded cabbage and the harami meat was thick! By the way, the unlimited namul (Korean side dish) was a nice touch! The meat had a good texture and the seasoning was delicious. However, the disappointing part was that the rice was dry and not very tasty. The key to a good rice bowl is, after all, the rice. Even if the meat and seasoning are good, if the rice isn't tasty, it's a big letdown. This is a common issue even at major chain gyudon (beef bowl) restaurants. Overall, it was decent. If the rice had been delicious, it would have been a high-value and internationally appealing restaurant! I will visit again when I want to eat heartily!

Osaka Prefecture: Namba Area - Yakiniku Donburi and More Located a little further from Nipponbashi, this place is in a great spot for tourists. It seems like the majority of people coming out of the restaurant are tourists, rolling their luggage bags behind them. During lunchtime, there is usually a line of about 10 people waiting, showing how popular this place is! This restaurant is part of a small chain with locations all over Kansai, but the clientele here feels a bit different from other places. I probably wouldn't wait in line to eat here.

Blog post can be found here...http://harapekooyaji.blog104.fc2.com/blog-entry-1506.html April 30, 2017 After leaving the beef cutlet specialty store Nihonbashi Fuji, I visited Namba Niku Gekijou in Naniwa-ku, Osaka. I have visited Dotonbori Niku Gekijou and its affiliated restaurant Nishinomiya Beef before, but this restaurant is a lively place with theaters popping up everywhere recently. With its flashy sign, many people may be familiar with it. Feeling a bit hungry after eating at Nihonbashi Fuji, I decided to visit this restaurant for a meal. Although the menu is similar to the nearby Nikudon specialty restaurant Fuji Akira, I was drawn to the chicken seseri here. I chose the chicken seseri bowl with extra-large rice portion and selected the "normal ginger" flavor sauce. The restaurant operates with a ticket machine system, but menus are also available on each table and counter. I opted for the special size (500g) for the chicken seseri bowl and waited for my order. The restaurant has a unique counter layout that can seat around 15 people and two tables at the back for about 8 people. The space between seats is relatively spacious, but the chairs and the wall behind are a bit narrow, making it difficult for staff carrying trays to pass through. After a 15-minute wait, my order was served. The chicken seseri bowl was visually lacking in volume compared to the cabbage. I realized that the bean sprout namul was missing from my order and had to ask the staff for it. The chicken seseri had a slightly sweet taste, different from what I expected, with a hint of teriyaki sauce flavor. The texture was firm and juicy, which was enjoyable. The sesame seeds added a nice crunchy texture and aroma. The sauce on the chicken seseri was not enough for the rice, so I recommend adding more sauce. The cabbage should be eaten together with the rice and meat, as the bowl is meant to be enjoyed with the sauce and broth. The topping of green onions was slightly dry, but it was sufficient for me. However, for those ordering the extra-large rice portion, adding extra meat might be a good idea to balance the dish. The man next to me had leftover rice, which he ate with the bean sprout namul, as his female companion could not finish her portion. The bean sprout namul had a good texture and was well-made, but it lacked a bit of sesame oil flavor and was slightly under-seasoned.
