<Revisit> My family has become big fans of this place and we visit about once a month. Today, I went with a friend and we sat at the counter, enjoying the recommended sashimi platter, fried anglerfish, grilled dumplings, and a unique dish called "boiled conger eel". It was my first time trying it and the conger eel with vinegar miso was a completely new and delicious experience. We enjoyed it with sweet potato shochu and had a wonderful evening. Shin-eimaru is the best!
<Revisit> My wife and I revisited the restaurant. We ordered a sashimi platter for two, fried anglerfish, cheese fries, a hot pot for one, and a porridge set. The sashimi was fresh and delicious as always, with a nice fatty texture. The fried anglerfish was juicy and delicious. However, the highlight of this visit was the hot pot. The owner advised us to try it without adding soy sauce, saying that the flavor would develop as we ate. And it did. The broth was light at first but gradually became more flavorful. It was the lightest hot pot I've ever had, and it was incredibly delicious. The portion was generous, and the porridge was also excellent. With the colder weather coming, I feel like I'll be visiting this place often.
<Past Review> I had some time to spare before meeting my wife, so I decided to explore a newly opened restaurant in Ropponmatsu. I arrived around 8 pm and the tables and private rooms at the back were almost full, so I sat at the counter. I ordered a draft beer first. The menu mentioned that the fish was sourced from Uku Island at the northern tip of the Goto Islands and Nagahama Fish Market, which caught my attention, so I ordered the sashimi platter for one for 1000 yen. The appetizer was sesame mackerel, which was delicious. The sashimi platter arrived quickly. There weren't many varieties, but the quality was good. It included red snapper, amberjack, and octopus. The red snapper was pink and translucent, indicating its freshness, with a firm and delicious texture. The amberjack was also delicious with a good texture. The octopus was chewy and tasty. For 1000 yen with red snapper included, I was satisfied. I asked the chef for recommendations for more fish, but he honestly said that the sea was rough that day and there weren't many good fish available. Despite the limited options, he prepared a delicious sashimi platter for me. He recommended the steamed hot pot, which included matsutake mushrooms. It was a bit early in the season for matsutake, but I ordered it based on his recommendation. It arrived in about 15 minutes and included matsutake mushrooms, clams, shrimp, and amberjack. I took a bite before squeezing the kabosu lime...the broth was so flavorful and delicious. Adding the kabosu lime gave it a refreshing touch, making it even more delicious. I wished there was more to eat, but I had to leave soon for my appointment. The restaurant is close to my house, so I'll definitely revisit with my wife next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
