I visited the "Katsufuji" restaurant in Ebetsu and Tomakomai, which serves delicious pork cutlet bowls. This was my second visit to the Ebetsu location. Just to clarify, this restaurant is not related to the popular "Shokusakikoubou Katsufuji" in Chitose City. I ordered the Menchi Katsu set meal for 869 yen, which came with rice and miso soup (small). I also opted for extra rice for an additional 132 yen, bringing the total to 1,001 yen. The food was delicious, but I would be even happier if they offered free rice refills or larger portions.

Lunchtime in Ebetsu City. Today's lunch is at "Katsudon Katsufuji," a restaurant with locations in Ebetsu City and Tomakomai. Just to clarify, it is not related to the popular restaurant "Shokusaku Kobo Katsufuji" in Chitose City. I had a delicious katsudon at the "Tomakomai branch" the other day. But I wanted to try something different today! So, I ordered the "Sauce Katsudon": - Plum (80g pork) for 490 yen - Bamboo (120g pork) for 650 yen - Pine (two 80g pork slices) for 850 yen I chose the "Bamboo" option! I thought the katsu would be dipped in a light sauce, but it was actually covered in a thick, tonkatsu-style sauce. It felt like a tonkatsu set meal condensed onto a bowl of rice, with shredded cabbage on top. I thought there might not be enough sauce, but it turned out to be just the right amount. The meat was thick, tender, and delicious, and the value for money here is great! Additionally, you receive a 100 yen discount coupon at the checkout, which you can use next time and receive another discount coupon. It's like having an "infinite discount coupon"! I might just fall in love with "Katsudon Katsufuji"...♡

I was in Ebetsu for work... I passed by "Katsufuji" along the bypass countless times in the past, but this is my first time actually using it. It was just past 12 o'clock and about 80% of the parking lot was full. Inside, there were 20 counter seats, 4-5 tables for 2 people, and a raised tatami area with about 4 tables for 6 people each. There were 4 staff members working inside, and they seemed quite busy. The barley tea for refills was self-service with a pot in front and plastic cups stacked nearby. I sat at the middle of the counter and opened the menu... I was really interested in the curry, but I ordered the "Katsudon (plum) @490 + tax". It arrived in about 6 minutes. The tray had a red plastic bowl with a small plate of pickled daikon. The katsu had a moderate amount of fat, was about 1 cm thick, and was soft and easy to eat. The rice quality was not great, but it was cooked just right for the donburi, with a slightly firm texture. The sauce was not overly sweet, and the portion was quite generous for me. The flavor was geared towards the masses and didn't quite suit my taste, but it seemed to be popular among tough guys. It's not easy to find a katsudon that suits your taste. Thank you for the meal.

I sometimes go for lunch. Today, I chose the A set with katsudon and umeboshi. I wonder if they always give out a 100 yen discount coupon? It's a good deal if you go there regularly. The taste is just delicious. During this season, the set with udon comes with cold udon. I will post a picture of the new prices for set menus.

In May 2020, as part of their COVID-19 measures, more and more restaurants are focusing on takeout. This particular restaurant has been emphasizing takeout even before. Their menu structure is similar to chain restaurants like "Katsuya," both for dine-in and takeout. It makes me wonder if they were once a franchise that became independent. This time, I tried their "Katsu Don (Bamboo)" dish. The portion size of the "Plum" option at 80g felt a bit lacking, but the 120g "Bamboo" option provided a satisfying volume. I feel like I've mentioned this in previous reviews, but personally, my ideal last meal would be a "Katsu Don." Compared to when I was a child, it's now easier to find tonkatsu restaurants, but for me, "Katsu Don" remains a special treat, especially when ordered for delivery. My personal "Katsu Don ritual" involves eating the rice first, then starting with one end of the cutlet and working my way towards the middle. I leave a piece of cutlet in the middle after finishing the rice, savoring the flavorful meat at the end. Eating a Katsu Don always lifts my spirits and makes me feel energized.

The second time having lunch set A at Mats, with 80g x 2 of meat. Changed the pork cutlet rice bowl to mountain vegetable udon (+30). Total 120g and 80g of meat, is there a difference in quality? I feel like the meat quality was slightly better last time, but maybe it was just by chance. I don't expect much in terms of customer service at this kind of restaurant, but I think if various things were improved a little, the number of customers would increase.

I had dinner at Katsufuji Eniwa Store in Eniwa City, located at 18-9 Kogan Minami 7-chome, and enjoyed their Katsudon (bamboo) set. The Katsudon bamboo set includes a 120g pork cutlet with pickles, and on this day it was priced at a discounted rate of 550 yen including tax (usually 715 yen). It was my first visit to Katsufuji Eniwa Store, and I found the restaurant to be spacious with plenty of seating. They also offer takeout options, which seemed popular among customers. The menu features various rice bowl dishes starting from 490 yen, as well as set meals ranging from 670 yen for Chicken Katsu set to 690 yen for Pork Cutlet set with miso soup. They also have curry dishes starting from 400 yen for Curry Rice, and 650 yen for Katsu Curry or Chicken Katsu Curry. Additionally, they offer a special Udon dish. After finishing the meal, they gave me a 100 yen discount coupon. The Katsudon bamboo set I had was delicious with a perfectly cooked egg, and the discounted price of 550 yen was a great deal. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience.

On my way back to Sapporo after finishing some work during my first visit on November 14th, it was already past 3 PM and I hadn't had lunch yet. Feeling very hungry, I decided to stop by Katsufuji Ebetsu store. When I looked at the menu on the counter, I found out that it was the last day of their Thanksgiving promotion, with discounted prices. I ordered the Katsu Curry Bamboo. The katsu was thick and juicy, freshly fried. The curry was served generously on the plate. It was delicious, and I couldn't believe how good it tasted, even though I was so hungry. It was my first time having katsu curry in a while, and I was impressed by how well the curry complemented the katsu and rice. I would like to come back next time to try their katsudon. It was delicious. Thank you. I will visit again.

Visit date: October 4, 2019, 7:30 PM. After finishing work, I decided to have dinner alone at this restaurant "Katsufuji Eniwa Store." Come to think of it, I remember this store being closed for a while in the past, but maybe my memory is wrong? (Note: I later found out that it seems to have closed from winter to spring in 2015 for a renewal reopening, haha) This time, I ordered the "Jumbo Chicken Katsu Don (¥850)." I was quite hungry at the time, so I ordered it, but little did I know that it would turn into regret... I waited for the Katsu Don to arrive, and a few minutes later, it arrived. The amount of katsu was larger than it looked in the photos, and the size was quite substantial. The taste was good, with the egg coating giving it a crispy texture, and it wasn't too salty, so it was easy to eat. However, after eating a little more than half, I started to feel full. Normally, I would be satisfied with a regular Katsu Don (with plum), so when it comes to a Jumbo Chicken Katsu Don that costs almost double, well... I forced myself to finish it because I didn't want to leave any, but I ended up with a stomachache until the next day. Clearly, I overate... haha As mentioned above, the Jumbo Chicken Katsu Don (¥490) costs almost twice as much as the regular one, so the portion is quite large, suitable for those who want to eat a lot. I assume that the Katsu Don "Matsu" also has a substantial amount. If you're not confident in finishing it, it's safer to choose other menu items with smaller portions. Thank you for the meal.

I came here on my bike feeling great today and arrived early! Since no one greeted me, I reluctantly sat at the counter and quickly realized that I was in for a unique experience. I feel like eating, but the atmosphere is a bit strange. I placed my order, but I wonder if they can hear me from far away? The sound is quite distinctive. I'll head back now, but I think this was probably the most valuable time of my life.

Today was Katsufuji-san's appreciation day, so I went to eat Katsu curry for only 500 yen. Despite arriving at 11:30, the restaurant was extremely crowded, but I managed to secure two seats at the counter. Even though it was packed, the Katsu curry arrived in about 10 minutes after ordering (^-^) The Katsu was thick and delicious, but I wish the curry was a bit spicier (lol). Still, I'm satisfied, satisfied. Thank you for the meal today too (^-^)

Today, my mother wanted to buy some HEATTECH at UNIQLO and also wanted to buy some side dishes, so we headed to Ebetsu around 12:30. But first, we needed to fill our stomachs! As always, we went to "Katsufuji" because of my mother's picky eating habits. My mother ordered her favorite pork cutlet set, and I decided to try the Katsu-don & seaweed udon set that caught my eye last time. I was expecting a half-sized Katsu-don, but what came out was a regular-sized Katsu-don with a mini udon! I think the menu said it was an 80g cutlet, but I didn't pay attention. Nevertheless, it was a great deal for only 590 yen! I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it, but I ended up eating the whole thing. It was delicious, and I enjoyed it. Maybe next time, I'll ask for less rice! There are several cutlet restaurants, but this one is my favorite because it's reasonably priced and tasty. Since I live with my elderly mother, we don't fry food at home often, so it's nice to be able to enjoy freshly fried cutlets once in a while. They also offer takeout and party platters, which might be convenient for events like Christmas. Thank you for the meal!

I didn't have much of an appetite, but it was lunchtime so I decided to go to "Katsufuji"... I ordered the Katsudon with plum (about 80g of pork cutlet) for 480 yen and a small serving of miso soup for 120 yen. I asked for less sauce on the Katsudon because I don't like it when the sauce gets all over the bowl... so I focused on the miso soup instead! Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy it... it tasted strange, maybe too sour? Was it the miso? The pork was dry and tough... I should have just ordered the lunch set with small udon noodles! I was thinking about leaving the soup, but then the man sitting next to me struck up a conversation. He gave me a discount coupon worth 100 yen! Thank you so much. I used it to cover the cost of the miso soup (laughs).

After accompanying my mother to her medical appointment, I planned to go shopping at UNIQLO. However, my mother suddenly decided to come along, so I couldn't eat whatever I wanted alone. We finished shopping and then my mother said she was hungry, so we decided to eat before heading home. Due to my mother's picky eating habits, we ended up at Katsufuji, a nearby restaurant. I sighed at the thought of having tonkatsu again, but there was no choice. My mother ordered a set meal with loin cutlet and shrimp fry, while I chose a set meal with two fillet cutlets and miso soup. The miso soup was huge, served in a bowl! Even though I couldn't finish all the soup, I ate all the ingredients because it was delicious. The shredded cabbage served with the cutlets was abundant, but I finished it all thanks to the delicious sesame dressing. I couldn't finish all the rice, I should have asked for a smaller portion at the beginning. I didn't notice before, but they also offer lunch sets with udon noodles. The fried chicken and udon set looked appetizing! They also have takeaway katsudon, which is apparently delicious, and they offer party platters for small gatherings at a reasonable price. Despite my initial reluctance, I ended up eating a satisfying meal. Thank you for the delicious food!
