Hormone set meal for 750 yen. You might hesitate to enter because it's located in the basement of a building. The menu is on the third page, but this time I ordered the hormone set meal. My impression is that it's okay for the price. It's fairly tasty, and you can get up to 2 free rice refills, so you can get full. However, it wasn't something that impressed me a lot. I might go again, but it gave me the impression of being something you can find anywhere.

I had always thought this place was a yakiniku restaurant and had avoided it for lunch, but since they were open on Saturdays, I decided to give it a try for the first time. When I went downstairs, I was the first customer there. I was seated at a table for two by the wall. I chose the Hormone set meal for 750 yen. There were 6 types of sauces to choose from, and I asked the staff for advice on which one would be best. They recommended the original barbecue sauce, saying that the Hormone had a thick texture and would go well with a sauce with some thickness. After I placed my order, they closed the curtain to create a private room-like atmosphere. The dark brown curtain made the space feel cramped and a bit dark, which was a bit overwhelming. It would have been better if they closed it after the table next to me was filled. The set meal arrived shortly after, and it looked very appetizing. It came on a silver plate with a side of cabbage salad, topped with green onions and sesame seeds. It also came with seaweed soup, rice, and pickles. The Hormone and sauce paired well together, and I found myself finishing all the rice, which I thought was a lot. I'm glad I followed the staff's recommendation. Since this area is in an office district, the restaurant was empty the whole time. I was grateful that they were open on Saturdays. When it came time to pay, I mentioned that my workplace was nearby, and they let me draw a lottery. When I showed them the result, they made a slightly disappointed face and said, "You won a draft beer, but you can't drink it while you're working, right?" Even though I couldn't have the beer, the Hormone was delicious, so I plan to visit again.

After a five-year absence, I visited this restaurant again. In a world where bold price increases and stealth price hikes are rampant, the fact that the BBQ set meal is still priced at 850 yen is much appreciated. The quality of the meat is decent, but the sauce is delicious. The meal also comes with soup. As times change, this restaurant seems to shine even brighter. Without doing anything differently, my score for this place has gone up since my last visit. I will definitely come back again.

I had lunch at a yakiniku restaurant along Sakaisuji, where the price varies depending on the weight of the meat. I ordered 250g of pork belly because it was cheaper, although I really wanted to try the loin. You have to specify the sauce in advance, so I went with the standard yakiniku sauce. The restaurant had a no-frills atmosphere, not really suitable for a date but good for a guys' night out. The cooked meat looked well-done and soaked in the sauce. The soup was simple, and the side vegetables were a bit lacking. Overall, the taste was good, but nothing extraordinary. It felt like a dish that could easily be made at home. So, I would rate this restaurant with a few stars. Thank you for the meal!

We left Iwakuni and headed towards Osaka on a 2-night, 3-day tour during the 4-day weekend. Despite the heavy traffic, we managed to arrive back at around 9pm. We saw a sign advertising a 1-hour all-you-can-drink deal for 900 yen, so we decided to stop by. We enjoyed some meat dishes, including harami, and they were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunch was at Nikumaruya Honten in Sakaisuji Hommachi, Osaka. This was my 2nd or 3rd visit. Originally, I had planned to go to a different restaurant, but it was closed, perhaps due to the impact of COVID-19. I ordered the Mixed Donburi (750 yen) which was a bit confusing to order. First, you choose between a set meal or a donburi. Then, you select the type and amount of meat, and finally, the sauce. I decided on the Mixed Donburi with 250g of meat, 300g of rice, and a rich salt sauce. The seating was separated by curtains due to the coronavirus, which felt a bit cramped. The food arrived and looked delicious. I enjoyed it, although I regretted choosing the salt sauce, as I think a lighter sauce would have been better. The salad and soup were average. I noticed that the amount of green onions was less this time compared to my visit four years ago. I wonder why that is. Overall, the menu was a bit hard to read, but the restaurant is located at 2-1-1 Minamihommachi, Chuo-ku, Osaka, with a phone number of 06-6261-2908. They are open from 11:00 to 23:00, and closed on no specific day.

It was raining, so I felt lazy to use an umbrella, and since it is directly connected to Exit 14 of Sakaisuji Hommachi Station, I visited Nikumaru Honten for the second time (*^o^*) Upon entering, the staff asked me to disinfect with alcohol, and I did so \(//∇//)\ I sat at a table separated by vinyl sheets. Last time I had the 150g Mix Set Meal, so this time I had to choose between domestic beef belly or pork belly. Beef belly for 850 yen, pork belly for 650 yen... I chose based on cost performance (lol). ◼️ Pork Belly 150g for 650 yen. The flavoring seemed to be a sweet miso flavor? The sizzling sound from the kitchen was tantalizing. Soon, my pork belly lunch arrived! Visuals... the pork belly was brown due to the miso. It came with cabbage salad, soup, pickles, and rice. Rice refill is OK, and for 650 yen, it's a good deal (*゚▽゚*) I took a bite of the pork belly... it had a moderately miso flavor and was slightly thin, but it went well with the rice. I hesitated on getting a refill, but considering my recent overeating, I refrained! Next time, I'll try the domestic beef belly if available (*^o^*) Thank you for the meal.

Last week's rain stopped and on Monday, the weather was nice. When the weather is good, you feel like eating meat, right? I visited Nikumaruya Honten, located directly connected to Exit 14 of Sakaisuji Hommachi Station. I've known about this place for a while, but this was my first visit. It's located half underground in a building next to a fitness gym. Eat and drink, then exercise, right? When I entered, I noticed transparent vinyl sheets between tables for social distancing. Lunch menu offers set meals and rice bowls with prices varying based on the amount of meat. I decided to go for a set meal with free rice refills. I chose the mixed meat option for variety. The default 150g portion was enough for me. I chose the special grilled meat soy sauce flavor. The mixed set meal arrived in about 5 minutes. The presentation seemed a bit simple. The meal included meat, soup, pickles, and rice. I tried the soup first, which was a typical wakame and sesame soup often found in BBQ restaurants. The meat, which I think was beef belly, was of average thickness. The soy sauce flavor was a bit strong, but it went well with the rice. It was a bit challenging to eat both the hormone and belly meat together. I ate about half of the meat, then had a rice refill. I finished the meal quickly and found it a bit pricey at 850 yen around Sakaisuji Hommachi. Thank you for the meal.

I have a memory of eating pre-seasoned yakiniku from a supermarket while mountain climbing about 35 years ago, so when I found a yakiniku lunch that seemed similar, I decided to try it out! Since it was my first time, I decided to go with the classic mix set, which includes 250g of meat. There were six different sauces to choose from, and I went with the original yakiniku soy sauce. The meal started with perfectly cooked rice and soup, followed by the main dish which consisted of a mix of meats (domestic beef belly, hormone, pork belly, harami). The original yakiniku soy sauce was a classic and went well with the rice. Among the thin slices, the hormone stood out with its chewy texture. The belly was tender, the pork belly was slightly tough, and the harami was so thin that I couldn't really tell if it was there or not. However, the nostalgic taste reminded me of the seasoned yakiniku I used to eat as a child at stores like Daiei and Topos, which made me happy. Next time, I want to try just the harami, which is my favorite.

I dropped by around 1 pm on a regular day. It's a restaurant that serves meat and offal set meals. I had the mixed offal and meat set meal with 150g for 850 yen. You can have unlimited rice refills. The portion was just right, with a good amount of food. The sweet and savory sauce on the offal and meat was delicious! The meat and offal were juicy, and I enjoyed it with the rice. They serve set meals and rice bowls with meat and offal. The right amount of indulgence makes it a great place. I would like to come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I happened to have some errands nearby and decided to stop by. I ordered the hormone yakiniku set meal and the beef belly bowl. I didn't have any prior knowledge about this place, but I was pleasantly surprised to find delicious meat!

It's a chilly Sunday after the rain. I rode my bike to Sakaisuji-Honmachi for lunch. I arrived at Nikumaruya, a restaurant known for its meat bowls and hot pots, located in the basement of a building southwest of the intersection. The building seems quiet with many closed tenants on weekends, but the sign for Nikumaruya stands out. I descended the stairs and entered the restaurant. There is a small counter and kitchen right at the entrance, with tables lined up in the space towards the back on the right. It has a bit of a yakiniku restaurant vibe. I chose a mixed set meal with the original soy sauce sauce. The set arrived shortly, with grilled meat served on a silver plate accompanied by cabbage, wakame soup, pickles, and rice. The meat was delicious, especially the harami with its sweet and slightly spicy sauce. The bara had a different taste and texture due to its higher fat content. I alternated between the two meats and enjoyed them with the rice. The wakame soup was a nice complement to the meal. Before I knew it, I had finished every last bite. It was a satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal.

Today's dinner was at Nikumaru-ya. I've been here a few times last winter, but my main reason for coming back is their super spicy red hot pot (extra spicy). Regardless of the taste, the addictive spiciness of the hot pot and the cheese risotto at the end make me want to come back irregularly. I enjoy some addictive cucumber and asparagus bacon stir-fry as a side dish, sip on a highball, and wait for the hot pot to arrive. After about 15 minutes of waiting, the red hot pot (extra spicy) is served. Starting with the topping of hormone, I quickly finish the hot pot and order the cheese risotto. Today was a quick meal, but I am full and now heading home.

Today's lunch was at Nikumaruya Honten in Osaka, Sakaisuji Hommachi. It's been a year and a half since I last visited. The restaurant is a bit hard to find. The lunch menu mainly consists of grilled meat bowls. I ordered the Nikumaruya Omuchiki Don (¥780), which is a slightly different type of bowl. I haven't had omurice in a while, so I wanted something similar. The dish arrived looking just like the menu photo, but it was hard to tell what it was exactly. It seemed to be chicken based on the menu name. The taste was good, but the ketchup was a bit overpowering, leaving a slightly messy impression. The set also came with salad and soup. Overall, it was a tasty meal, but the use of a spoon with a bowl was a bit unusual.
