I visited at 2:00 pm. The place was empty and we had it all to ourselves. There were about 4 tables in the small, cozy interior. No restroom available. The walls were lined with old books, and they also sold new books. They had records in the store, and the sound quality was surprisingly good. I ordered a cream soda, cheesecake, and pudding, and they were all delicious. The cheesecake and pudding were baked to perfection.

I was a bit nervous because there were many rules in the store, but it turned out to be no big deal. There were no other customers, so I enjoyed listening to records while having pancakes and a blue Hawaii cream soda. Nowadays, cafes and coffee shops tend to have too many chatty customers, so it's hard to find a quiet place to relax. The atmosphere inside the store was also nice. They will be raising prices slightly starting from June 1st.

Cream soda mint, cheesecake, pudding. It's been about 4 years since I last visited Cafe Aotsuki. Records are playing. You go up the stairs to the second floor where the shop is located. Luckily, a seat facing the blue wall was available. I chose the refreshing mint cream soda. They also have it without ice. I had the pudding, which had a strong milk flavor. Photography is not allowed inside the shop, but you can ask the staff for permission. On weekdays, you can stay for 90 minutes, on weekends for 60 minutes, and if you want to stay longer, you need to make an additional order. Only minimal conversation is allowed (whispering is okay?). Groups of 3 or more are not allowed. It feels like there are more rules now compared to before, and the staff will confirm if you have read the rules before entering. It's a bit nerve-wracking, but if you go alone to read a book, it's not that big of a deal. Thank you for the meal.

Visited during Saturday's opening hours. Had the place all to myself for 20 minutes until closing. Chose a seat by the window at the counter. Checked the menu's back for rules before ordering at my seat. Payment is done at the counter at the end (cash only). Ordered two items: Cream Soda/Blue Hawaii (600 yen) and Pudding (450 yen). The cream soda overflowed as the ice melted, so I had to drink quickly. The pudding was cut like a cake and had a firm texture that I love. The rules allowed taking photos of sweets, but I still asked the staff if it was okay to only take photos of what was in front of me. They said it was fine since there were no other customers. The background music was playing but the atmosphere was very quiet. The place gives off a vibe of being perfect for solo diners.

A shop for subculture girls and boys. It's like an old jazz cafe where conversation is strictly prohibited, but in today's world of pandemic prevention, you can enter with peace of mind. I visited to conduct a location survey because a Hokkaido fermented butter sandwich specialty shop, B.B.B., is opening nearby. A shop I would love to visit again and again if it were nearby. There are plenty of books that are educational.

Good evening. This is lily_c. On my day off, I took a stroll in the Minami area and visited a shop I had been eyeing. There are many unique shops in the Horie area, so it's exciting. It's on the second floor of a building next to Family Mart. You go up the stairs. Inside, records are playing. The shop's rules are written, but to summarize, it's all about "being quiet." It's an image for solo customers. It's a space where you can relax with books, drinks, and records. It's a perfect cafe to spend some time zoning out and relaxing.

Today, I took a break here. I've been curious about this place for a while, but I never had the chance to go in until now. The shop is located on the second floor of a private building. When you go up the stairs and enter the shop, it is very quiet. Even though there were other customers, it was still very quiet. When I sat down, a man who seemed to be the manager came over and left the terms of use and menu. I read it and understood! I don't want to write everything, so please read the photo. The pudding is triangular! It's a firm pudding with a strong egg flavor, very delicious. The best part is that there's plenty of caramel on top. The iced coffee is also very fragrant and delicious, maybe they brew it in the shop. This quiet, hidden gem of a shop is highly recommended for a relaxing time. Thank you for the meal!

The small shop has various constraints. I ordered a cream soda and was asked what flavor I wanted - melon, blue Hawaii, or lemon. There was no straw provided. The baked cheesecake would go well with coffee. The fork provided was the same as the one at my parents' house. Various matchbooks are on the table for guests to enjoy. It's not a place for chatting, but rather to enjoy the atmosphere and music chosen by the owner. It's a place called Kissa Golgo...!?

On a rainy Sunday recently, I decided to explore the South Osaka area. After a leisurely morning, I made my way to a retro-looking restaurant in Horie for lunch. The atmosphere was cozy and nostalgic, with vintage furniture and old books lining the shelves. The staff were friendly and the coffee was served with a complimentary biscuit. I spent an hour browsing through the pro-wrestling books on the shelf before realizing how quickly time had passed. Overall, it was a pleasant experience in a unique and charming setting.

【Kitahorie】Cafe Aotsuki A small entrance with a nostalgic cafe sign. Step on the blue carpet and head upstairs... A secondhand bookstore, Aotsuki Bookstore, operates mainly as a cafe. The surrounding walls are filled with secondhand books and CDs, and the BGM is from records... The nostalgic tunes transport you back in time, giving you a feeling of time travel. I was able to sit at a table with Arabian tile walls. The cafe tables are small, just like in traditional coffee shops, and the tabletops are covered with matchbooks from coffee shops all over the country! Each matchbook has a unique design that is truly captivating. There are instructions to ensure that all customers can enjoy the atmosphere without disrupting it. Instructions such as not taking photos with other customers in them, or keeping voices low... Read carefully and enjoy the harmony of the place. The menu is in line with traditional coffee shops. Of course, our target was the hotcakes! The blue cream soda adds to the retro vibe and sets the mood. The hotcakes are lovingly handmade, with a perfect shape and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. They have a slightly crispy texture (in a good way) that soaks up the syrup. This cafe immerses you completely in the world of traditional coffee shops. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The pancakes were wonderfully fluffy and delicious, the atmosphere with old books and records was very charming. However, the staff was a bit intimidating.

Just a short walk from home, I found Aotsuki Shobo. As a fan of retro cafes, I was intrigued by its exterior. I entered with high expectations. Upon opening the door and climbing the stairs, I was greeted by a plethora of books, records, blue chairs, and countless matchsticks neatly arranged on tables. It had a good vibe. Despite it being a holiday afternoon, there was only one couple enjoying iced coffee and browsing through a hip-hop encyclopedia. While it may not have the traditional retro cafe charm, it's a lovely space for book lovers, groups of girls looking for a cozy atmosphere, or couples.

Located in a small building in Horie, Ao Tsuki Bookstore is a quiet second-hand bookstore. Previously, they operated in Namba, but moved to Horie last year. The store is on the second and third floors, with a café space on the second floor. Behind the book display, there are two sections of counter seats with different styles. There is also a terrace seat with one chair. The owner's attention to detail can be seen throughout the gentle space, from how the books are presented to the layout of miscellaneous goods. The café menu includes drinks, cakes, and the café staple, curry. On this day, I chose iced coffee. The coffee, carefully brewed by the quiet owner, was very fragrant and had a refreshing aftertaste. Spending a moment of learning with a book by the window. It was a solo activity café where you can enjoy your own time to the fullest.
