On Saturday night, Tenfuku was unexpectedly closed, so Raifuku couldn't find parking at the coin parking lot and ended up at Gyoza King for the first time. The restaurant was very busy, with most tables occupied. The prices for drinks were surprisingly cheap: bottled beer for 500 yen, highball for 380 yen, and oolong tea for 200 yen. The appetizer, Century Egg Tofu for 550 yen, had a good kick from the chili oil but lacked enough century egg. The Chicken with Chili Stir-Fry for 780 yen was tender but not as crispy as preferred. The pan-fried dumplings for 400 yen had thick skin and weren't suitable for frying. The Crab Meat Fried Rice for 650 yen was on the softer side with uneven stir-frying. Overall, the meal was not satisfying, but there are many other dishes to try. The lunch set seems to offer good value. Payment was made in cash without using PayPay. Thank you for the meal!

It's been a while since I visited this restaurant with my family. We couldn't order the course meal individually, so it's better to go with someone else. It was crowded when we arrived after 6 pm, with most of the 8 tables (for 4-6 people) already taken. My favorite at this Gyoza restaurant is the 1,600 yen course (recently increased from 1,500 yen), which is really worth it. The course includes: appetizer (choose between Bang Bang Chicken or Jellyfish Salad), Gyoza, Sweet and Sour Pork, Chili Prawns, Mapo Tofu, Fried Rice, and dessert (Almond Tofu or Mango Pudding). It's a super great deal for popular Chinese dishes. I was so excited after a long time that I forgot to take photos and quickly ate everything. All the dishes were delicious, no disappointments.

I usually go at night, but today I visited for the first time for lunch around 1 pm (lunch is until 2 pm). There were 3 groups of customers already, and an elderly couple came in after me. It was a good time to visit as the peak had passed. While looking at the menu, I remembered how delicious their sweet and sour pork is and decided to order the set meal. In addition to the main sweet and sour pork, it came with Chinese cold tofu, Chinese soup, white rice, and pickles. The meat and vegetables were plentiful, and the sweet and sour sauce was as delicious as ever. Recently, I've been a bit out of touch, so I thought they might have raised their prices due to the current trend of price hikes, but surprisingly, there was no increase in prices for individual items or set meals. As a customer, I'm happy about it, but I also wonder if they are doing okay (sweat). The lunch prices range from 650 yen to 800 yen. I usually have lunch near Hakata Station, so I'm surprised by how affordable it is. The only change I noticed was that the previously available 1,500 yen set meal for two people has increased to 1,600 yen. Other than that, there are set meals with 10 items plus all-you-can-drink for 3,500 yen, and all-you-can-eat and drink for 4,500 yen. I will definitely come back next time to try the 1,600 yen set meal for dinner!

This time I had vegetable stir-fry. I had a lunch appointment nearby, so I visited after a long time. Last time I had fried rice, so this time I went for the set meal. The seasoning is light but the dish is full of ingredients and delicious. It's a good deal considering the portion size as well. The restaurant is spacious.

A popular spot for students to grab a bite is "Gyoza King" near Kyushu Sangyo University. Located on the 2nd floor of a building right by Kyushu Sangyo University Station, this Chinese restaurant is run by Chinese owners and has a simple interior with a yellow color scheme. The set menu starts at 650 yen, catering well to the university crowd. Qingdao beer is also reasonably priced at 450 yen. The mapo tofu set for 650 yen has a nice level of spiciness. The portion of rice is generous, but with this level of spiciness, it's easy to finish.

I had the fried rice set for lunch. The fried rice was moist and had plenty of ingredients like onions and carrots, making it delicious. The lunch menu is extensive. The parking lot is located behind the building, so be careful. The staff members seem to be Chinese, so the taste is authentic. I would like to try other menu items next time.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, and although it seemed a bit intimidating to enter, I finally visited for the first time. The experience was so good that I wish I had come sooner. Ordering individual dishes can be a bit pricey, but the 1,500 yen course per person (for two or more people) is a great deal and comes with popular menu items and dessert, making it highly recommended! The fried rice is incredibly delicious. The mapo tofu is quite spicy, but has a addictive flavor. The dumplings, which are the restaurant's namesake, have a unique spice that you may not have tried in Japan before. It may be a matter of personal preference, but I really like them. The staff at the restaurant seem to be Chinese and may have some difficulty with Japanese, but they are relatively polite and provide good service. This course can also be taken out, so it has become one of my favorite restaurants to use during this pandemic.

Today's lunch was at Gyoza King! I ordered the Green Pepper Pork Set Meal for 700 yen, and my friend ordered the Shrimp Chili Set Meal for 700 yen. The food was served in about 10 minutes. The Green Pepper Pork dish had lots of bell peppers, and the rice and soup were free refills. The rice was freshly cooked and delicious, and the soup was to our liking. The Shrimp Chili dish had large shrimp, with 7 pieces in total. I tried one and it was delicious. I had a refill of rice once and was full. My friend enjoyed the tofu side dish. The staff at the restaurant were Chinese, and we could hear Chinese conversations throughout. It felt like we were in China. Even the customers who came later were Chinese. The staff were friendly and said "Please come again" as we left. Thank you for the meal!

I didn't know there was a Chinese restaurant near Raifuku. The menu with photos on the wall is unreadable. The single item menu booklet is available, but the main dishes are the set meals on the wall. Sweet and sour pork set meal for 700 yen. The appearance of the set meal is a bit lonely. I wish there was some kind of soup. The sweet and sour pork was delicious, but I wish there was a bit more of it. Pan-fried dumplings for 400 yen. The dumplings had thick skin and a satisfying texture. Mapo tofu set meal for 650 yen. Surprisingly stylish bowl of mapo tofu. Rich and flavorful with various seasonings. It was my favorite type of mapo tofu that goes well with rice. Overall, the road in front of the restaurant is quite busy, but I didn't notice its existence at all. It is located on the 2nd floor of the sewing shop at the corner. We visited on a Sunday after 7 pm, and we were the only customers. The difficulty in finding the location and the unwelcoming atmosphere in front of the entrance may be affecting the business. There are various items on the single item menu, but they are all more expensive than the set meals, which is a mystery. That's why we ordered the set meals. The taste was not bad, so I hope they reconsider the contents of the set meals. There is parking space for about 2 cars a bit further back.

Cuisine and content: Near JR Kyushu University Station, there is a Chinese restaurant that has been around for over 10 years. You can enjoy various affordable lunch options here. The set meals come with free refills of soup and rice. The Chinjao Rosu set meal is great with lots of bell peppers. The crispy yakisoba with shrimp and large vegetables is very appetizing. The ankake (stir-fried dishes in starchy sauce) is also delicious. Thank you, Gyoza King, for the wonderful Chinese home-cooked meal!

Located near the university, this restaurant offers a wide variety of Chinese dishes at affordable prices. While there were some dishes I wasn't familiar with, the sweet and sour pork was excellent. The dan dan noodles were also delicious with just the right amount of spiciness. It was interesting to overhear the Chinese staff saying that the mapo tofu in China is not good, but the one in Japan is delicious because it's tailored to Japanese taste buds. This Chinese restaurant may not be authentic in that sense. It would be nice if they had single seating available during the day.
