After a long time, I went back to the Western-style restaurant in Osaka that I used to frequent. The master, the lady, and the taste are just as good as they used to be. Today's lunch was fried food. It was crispy and delicious. The rice was freshly cooked and tasty. I was torn between ordering pork cutlet curry and the daily lunch special, but I decided to go with the simple daily special.

Tenjinbashi Minami Izakaya "Rukupuru" Lunch 70% ordered the daily special, drawn to the shrimp curry for 890 yen... The chef in the cafe-like interior seemed to be in his late 70s? The classic curry with plenty of ingredients blended in had a strong presence. The fact that there was more curry sauce was a happy surprise.

I was curious and visited for the first time! A Western-style restaurant in Temma Hashi called "Le Couple" with a cozy cafe-like interior, seems to be run by a family with a chef with white hair and maybe a mother-daughter duo serving. The daily special lunch for 880 yen was a handmade hamburger and shrimp fry, which was quite satisfying. The set also includes crispy fried potatoes and chewy Koshihikari rice from Kyoto Tanba, which everyone loves.

Today's daily special at Temmabashi is bite-sized pork cutlet with shrimp chili sauce. I decided to try it after seeing the sample outside the restaurant around 12:30. There were 4 groups of customers before me and 3 groups after me, and the interior looked like a cozy cafe. The cutlet seemed to be pre-fried, but it was still warm and delicious. The shrimp in the chili sauce was surprisingly large and tasty. The buttered potatoes served on the side were comforting. The rice refill was available for an additional ¥100, but I decided not to get it. Overall, it was a nice experience with good food. #Izakaya #Tonkatsu #ShrimpChili #TemmabashiGourmet #TemmabashiLunch

A Western-style restaurant in Temmabashi. It seems to turn into an izakaya at night. The restaurant has a vintage feel, but the interior is clean and has a sense of cleanliness. It seems to be run by a husband and wife, creating a cozy atmosphere. I ordered the "Japanese-style pork cutlet" (810 yen including tax). It was a tonkatsu with grated ponzu sauce. The tonkatsu had a crispy coating and was juicy and tender inside. It was delicious ^^

The neighboring standing bar has been a familiar place since before the relocation, so I was already aware of the existence of the shop. However, today was my first time having a meal at this restaurant. On a slightly chilly weekday in January, I decided to walk a bit further to a shop that caught my eye along Tosabori Street. The lunch menu displayed a tempting sample of oyster fry, knowing that I have a fondness for oyster fry. Without hesitation, I made up my mind to have lunch here today! Upon entering the restaurant, I was guided to a large table seat near the entrance. It seems like solo customers are seated at this table. The menu stated "oyster fry" as a limited item, which may not be available every day. There was no mention of an oyster fry set, but it did come with rice and miso soup. The oysters were large and uneven in size, with a crispy and thin crust that perfectly complemented the juicy oysters. The homemade tartar sauce, made with mayonnaise, was exceptionally delicious - rich yet refreshing, without overpowering the flavor of the oysters. Not only the main oyster fry, but also the rice was delicious - each grain was sweet and sticky, making it irresistible. The atmosphere of the restaurant was charming, with a nostalgic and casual vibe of an old-fashioned Western-style eatery, exuding a subtle charm that high-end restaurants cannot replicate. It transforms into an izakaya at night. It may just be a coincidence, but I noticed a high demand for pork cutlets among the customers who arrived later. The pork cutlets looked incredibly appetizing, prompting me to consider a revisit for further investigation.

A dining establishment located on a side street between Matsuyamachi-suji and Temmabashi, which has been operating stably in the fast-changing food industry. The restaurant has several 4-person table seats and a large communal table, which is ideal for solo diners. The lunch menu includes daily specials, tonkatsu, curry, etc., with prices gradually increasing to 810 yen now. Today's special is ginger pork and white fish fry, with a sauce that enhances the flavors. Many regular customers from nearby workplaces visit during lunchtime, explaining the bustling atmosphere. In the evening, there are various Western-style dishes available, as well as traditional Japanese dishes like mackerel sashimi, accompanied by shochu and sake for a leisurely dining experience at the table.

The mackerel sushi made by the Western-style restaurant (reservation required) is exquisite! The fish is thick and the seasoning is perfect. Their homemade chicken nanban tartare is also delicious.

I had some errands nearby and decided to have lunch in between. There were a few izakaya lunch options nearby, but since I had Chinese food yesterday, I opted for a Japanese-style meal today. A cheerful and friendly lady welcomed me. I ordered the set lunch for 790 yen, which included ginger pork and shrimp fry. It came with rice and miso soup. The shrimp fry was crispy and the ginger pork was coated in starch, making the sauce stick well. The only downside was that the pork was a bit difficult to bite into without any cuts. The portion of rice was just right, and I finished it all. It was a relaxing lunch. Thank you for the meal. I forgot my tablet so I couldn't take a picture.

I was looking for a cheap parking spot around Temmabashi on July 5, 2017. It was raining, so traffic was slow, making it easier to search. I happened to see this restaurant from my car and decided to visit because they had a slightly cheaper parking spot nearby. The menu board outside was neat and cute, so I thought I'd give it a try. The restaurant was a bit messy at first, but the mother quickly cleaned up. I ordered the daily special, Zucchini Pork Rolls, which I had never tried before. The chef, with a perfect Western restaurant appearance, cooked efficiently and skillfully. The dish arrived in just 7-8 minutes, and the presentation was meticulous. The miso soup was a bit lacking but still tasty. The vegetables were delicious and cut into bite-sized pieces. The dressing had a good balance of acidity. The grilled zucchini had a nice flavor, and there was plenty of thinly sliced pork. The tomato sauce was mild and complemented the dish well. The portion of rice was a bit small, so next time I'll go for the larger size. The shrimp was decent, and the spaghetti salad was tasty with a hint of black pepper. Overall, it was a great meal at a nice restaurant. Total cost for today's lunch special (Zucchini Pork Rolls, Shrimp Fry): 790 yen. Parking fee: 400 yen.

Lunch in December 2016 was a late shift, leaving at 1:00 PM for a solo lunch, so let's be adventurous. Today's lunch special is handmade hamburger for 790 yen. Upon entering, I was told, "Lunch special is ending, it's popular." I asked if they had fried oysters, and the lady at the back, who was talkative, seemed a bit indifferent. The dish arrived, and I noticed that the tartar sauce was different. Being from Setouchi, I usually have soy sauce with fried oysters, but I was intrigued by this tartar sauce. It had a refreshing yuzu flavor, and the side dishes were plentiful. It was a delightful meal. Thank you. In the past, I visited once and it was just okay, so I stopped going. Recently, I stopped by the soba restaurant and the takoyaki place, and it seems like the shops have become cleaner. It had been a long time since I last visited. Today's lunch was shrimp fry and chicken in cream sauce stew for around 800 yen. The portion was generous and delicious. Since it was a late lunch, there was only one customer, and I enjoyed coffee while chatting with the lady. I heard that this place has been in business for over 10 years, alongside the Chinese restaurant in the area. The place that was not so good before was a coffee shop over a decade ago. The coffee and set meal came to exactly 1,000 yen. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I visited a Western-style izakaya with a cute exterior and a catchy name. Located on a corner lot with two roads, the restaurant had a bright and cheerful interior. The highlight of the place was the lively mama-san who greeted me with a smile and enthusiastically explained the dishes. The daily special set menu included pork tomato stew and fish with shiso leaf fry, both cooked with the restaurant's original seasoning. The tomato sauce was delicious and the fish fry with shiso leaf was also very good, although the portion size was a bit small. The mama-san recommended their mackerel sushi and pickled mackerel as their specialties as I was leaving. The mama-san was a cheerful and energetic hostess, and I couldn't help but think that she must be the one in charge at home too. The name of the restaurant, Le Couple, reminded me of a song I used to love. Overall, it was a pleasant lunch experience and I wish them continued happiness and prosperity. Bon appétit!

The restaurant is located a little away from Temmabashi Station, on a corner of the road. It is a moderately sized restaurant with a few tables. A veteran chef and his wife run the place on their own. Lunch seems to be their main focus with a variety of classic dishes. In the evening, the menu shifts to Western and izakaya dishes. It's a great place to stop by in the evening for a casual meal. The highlight of their dishes is the homemade sauces that have been perfected over the years. This helps enhance the flavor of the dishes while keeping costs down. The menu consists of year-round classic dishes as well as seasonal specials. The recommended dish is the Toro-shime saba (around 800 yen) which is best enjoyed with lemon and grated ginger. Other recommended dishes include Uni sauce with sashimi (800 yen), Squid ink sauté (750 yen), Grilled chicken thigh (800 yen), and Venison carpaccio-style (1,100 yen). The Chicken Nanban is also a must-try dish priced at 600 yen. Additionally, they offer side dishes with various vegetable options such as Eggplant in Peperoncino style and Scallop grill with lemon. For snacks, they have edamame, tomatoes, chicken wing gyoza (delicious), and Indian cuisine samosas. For dessert, they serve Chicken rice porridge (delicious) and Mentaiko pasta (simple and delicious). Each dish is carefully crafted over the years, resulting in unique flavors. Although the menu is somewhat limited, it is sufficient for a simple dinner. The service provided by the owner is excellent and the overall experience is pleasant. Here are some recent visits: - April 2015: Wakasagi Nanbanzuke, Octopus with Uni sauce, Bamboo shoot steak, Chicken rice porridge, 2 glasses of wine. Total: 4,200 yen. - February 2015: Toro-shime saba, Chicken wing gyoza, Venison carpaccio-style, Chicken rice porridge, 2 glasses of wine. Total: 4,150 yen. - December 2014: Toro-shime saba, Roasted duck in miso, Chicken rice porridge, 2 glasses of wine. Total: 3,550 yen. - November 2014: Toro-shime saba, Chicken wing gyoza x2, Fried oysters, Mentaiko pasta, 3 glasses of wine. Total: 4,650 yen. - September 2014: Chicken wing gyoza, Small shrimp tempura, Eggplant in Peperoncino style, Octopus with Uni sauce, 2 glasses of wine. Total: 3,200 yen. - June 2014: Hamo fry, Grilled tuna belly, Mentaiko pasta, 2 glasses of wine. Total: 3,560 yen.

At first glance, it seems to be run by a scary-looking master and a friendly wife. The attention to detail in the ingredients is evident when you take a bite. They focus on homemade dishes and they were very delicious. The menu has a Western-style feel. It can get crowded during lunchtime in the business district, but if you go at a different time, it's less busy. I want to tell someone how delicious it was, but at the same time, I don't want it to get too crowded, so maybe I won't tell anyone... The chicken nanban is recommended.
