Title "2019 Autumn Western Japan Big Touring Part 7, The Curry I Ate in the Curry Town was..."
On the third day of the September 2019 Western Japan Big Touring, we used it for dinner. We left the Hiroshima Hatsukaichi's Kaikatsu CLUB Hatsukaichi store at 4 am and had breakfast at Sukiya 2 Okayama Hayashima store at 8 am. Right after that, we stopped by the "Pokapoka Onsen" super public bath in Okayama, and arrived in Osaka at 2:30 pm. After taking care of some errands and returning to the parking lot, we found a Yoshinoya restaurant. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:45 pm, with 3 customers already inside and 2 staff members working. Walking from the Nipponbashi area to Ebisumachi, I saw many curry restaurants along the way. The electric town of Nipponbashi in Osaka had become a "curry town" with many curry shops. There were many interesting restaurants, but when I looked at the prices and the atmosphere inside the restaurants, I hesitated. In the end, we arrived at Yoshinoya near the boundary line between Nipponbashi area and Shinsekai area, and decided to eat curry there. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Curry for 550 yen and added the A set for 150 yen, making the total 700 yen. The menu is displayed excluding tax, but it is very difficult to read. Since they started displaying prices excluding tax, my desire to use Yoshinoya has greatly decreased. The curry arrived in about 3 minutes after ordering! Yoshinoya's curry is periodically renewed, sometimes white, sometimes black, sometimes normal. The Spicy Curry this time was different from the thick and sticky curry I had before, it was a lightly spicy curry, closer to Indian curry. It had the most authentic spice flavor among Yoshinoya's curries, and it felt spicier than before. Previously, it was similar to the curry at "Hanamaru Udon", but this time it was closer to the curry at "Matsuya". The rice was hidden under the curry and chicken, and was not very visible. The ratio of curry was high, so even if you eat a lot of curry, you can easily finish it. The rice itself was normal and didn't leave much of an impression. The amount of rice was equivalent to a bowl, so I think it was quite a lot. How about the "Chicken" in the curry? In the same bowl, there was chicken placed separately from the curry. The chicken was not soaked in curry, it felt like they boiled and cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and put it on the curry rice. The chicken seemed to be boiled rather than grilled, and had a soft texture with some moisture, so it tasted quite good when eaten with the curry. However, I felt it could be a little more delicious. A set When you order the A set, you get a salad and miso soup. You can choose between sesame or soy dressing for the salad, and I chose sesame. The salad was made of shredded cabbage and corn. The miso soup was served by a machine and had a little bit of seaweed and green onions in it. The miso flavor was light. Overall, the Spicy Curry was pretty good. If you add the A set and the total price is 700 yen, it's reasonable. I felt that the chicken could have been a bit better, and adding an extra 200 yen for it seemed a bit much. If it were 150 yen more, it would have been more reasonable, but at 200 yen, it was a bit... I wished they could refine the taste and quantity a little more. After that, we arrived at the parking lot. We left around 6:20 pm and headed east towards Nara on Route 25. We rode on the night Hanshin Expressway aiming to arrive in Mie Prefecture, specifically Yokkaichi, by 9 pm. (2019.9.14)
