Today, I unexpectedly ended up on Rokko Island for a support job and on my way back, I had a very late lunch at Abeno, a pork cutlet bowl for 690 yen. It came with 4 pieces of pork cutlet and red miso soup, very filling. The red miso soup had a sprinkle of powdered sansho pepper and some trefoil, which was nice. Thank you for the meal!! Address: Horikoshi-cho, Tennoji-ku, Osaka City, Abeno Underground Shopping Street No.3. Open from 11:00 to 22:00, closed on the 3rd Tuesday of odd months and January 1st. Feel free to follow me on Instagram/Facebook/Twitter. I participate in blog rankings and your clicks are my source of energy! Your support is greatly appreciated.

I had some business in Tennoji and decided to stop by. I often go to Donbun-Tei in Whity Umeda, but this time I visited their Abeno Chika store. I ordered the soba and udon set, which was delicious. As a middle-aged person who loves soba, I was very happy. It was really tasty!! Thank you for the mealヾ(๑╹◡╹)ノ"

I visited "Donburi Tei Abeno Chika-ten" near Tennoji Station for lunch for the first time. This area is lined with restaurants and izakayas. I visited this place for a quick meal option. The restaurant has a counter with 6 seats and 4 tables for 4 people each. They offer a variety of donburi dishes such as tempura don, katsu don, oyakodon, and una-don, as well as udon and soba. This time, I ordered the "Tsukimi Oyakodon," which uses two eggs, creating a creamy half-cooked texture with plenty of chicken and a satisfying amount of food. It came with red miso soup and pickles, offering good value for money. Overall, it was delicious and enjoyable!

I visited a restaurant in the underground shopping area of Tennoji Station for lunch. I felt like having a regular meal, so I ordered a Tempura Donburi with fluffy egg and 2 eggs for 690 yen, and an Eel Donburi with Mini Soba Set for 1,310 yen. The dishes that arrived were a Tempura Donburi with plenty of shrimp tempura, squid tempura, and smelt tempura topped with lots of eggs. Anything tastes delicious when wrapped in eggs, so choosing the cheapest bowl was the right decision. The eel bowl, although likely imported, had thick and tasty eel pieces. It was a satisfying lunch.

2022: 10th visit♪ I'm feeling a bit under the weather in my stomach, so I'm looking for something gentle to eat! But when I looked at the menu, I started craving tempura rice bowl (laughs) So I settled for the fluffy tempura rice bowl with scrambled eggs on top for 690 yen including tax♪ The tempura rice bowl with scrambled eggs was really impressive this time because only half of it was covered with eggs, so the crispy texture of the tempura remained! I topped it generously with sansho pepper on shrimp, squid, and white fish. Also had red miso soup and pickled vegetables♪ The only thing missing was the seaweed, which was a bit lonely (laughs) It's a very convenient store♪

I disinfected my fingers and entered the store. The bright and clean glass-covered interior has counter seats in an I-shape and table seats in the back. I took a seat at a table. Instead of water, they served complimentary cold tea. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for dining alone.
Food and Drink:
- Beer (medium bottle), Asahi Super Dry: It's necessary to stay hydrated in this heat.
- Oyakodon (served with red miso soup): The oyakodon comes with red miso soup and pickles. It's thoughtful that they provide a spoon (even though I prefer using chopsticks). The rice and egg were cooked perfectly, with the egg being slightly runny. They use two eggs, which is quite generous. It's a great value for a quick meal.
Total: ¥860
Overall, it's a great place to enjoy a quick and satisfying meal.

I was interested in the tempura and oyakodon at Abetika in Tennoji, but I ordered the tonkatsu donburi for 600 yen. It came with red miso soup and had 4 thick pieces of tonkatsu with a generous amount of sweet broth. The egg was perfectly half-cooked. It was a good value for the price. It's a great place to grab a quick meal and go. I actually wanted to go to "Abeton," but there was a long line, so I went to this place instead.

This is a shop located in Abeno underground. I had some errands in Tennoji and stopped by for a quick lunch on the way back. I was happy to get in without waiting in line. I felt so happy eating the shrimp tempura bowl! The tempura was quick and the bowl came with a soft-boiled egg and miso soup for around 600 yen. It's reasonably priced and I'm glad about that! The tempura had a variety of toppings, so it felt like a good deal. They also have udon and soba sets, so I recommend those if you're really hungry. This area has ramen shops, hamburger joints, and more, making it a nice spot for a quick lunch!

After finishing my vaccination, I went to have lunch. I wandered around Abekita and ended up here. I ordered the "Fluffy Egg and Tempura Bowl with Red Miso Soup (650 yen)." The tempura included shrimp, squid, and onion. The egg was fluffy and the broth was plentiful. It was easy to eat and very delicious.

This is Avechika! Lately, I've been exploring this area. There are quite a few different shops here. At first glance, it seems like a chain store. I went to Don Don Tei. The zaru soba and mini tendon have decent cost performance! The soba is not very chewy and doesn't have a strong flavor. The dipping sauce is not really to my liking. The tempura bowl is just tasty. It doesn't have a strong flavor either. Overall, it's neither good nor bad. It's okay, I guess.

2020: Another visit in October♪ I was craving for a gentle lunch, and I remembered the "Tsukimi Oyakodon" that another reviewer had written about, so I decided to visit "Donbun Tei". The veteran male staff provided a comfortable and calming service. I ordered the Tsukimi Oyakodon and Akadashi set for 650 yen including tax. The Tsukimi Oyakodon came with pickled radish on the side. In the middle of the Oyakodon, there was a yolk of an egg, which made me feel luxurious! The taste was light, and when mixed with the yolk, it became even more refreshing. The pickled radish did a great job as well. The Akadashi was convenient and perfect for a quick lunch.

I went to a Vermeer exhibition at an art museum after accompanying a group from a welfare facility, and on the way back, I was very hungry, so I decided to have a meal at Donburi-Tei. Donburi-Tei is part of the Gourmet Kineya group, with its headquarters in Nagoya and many branches in Osaka. The interior of the restaurant had a counter with 7 seats and four 4-seater tables, totaling 23 seats. There were two men in the kitchen and a woman handling serving and payments. I was torn between having a tempura bowl and a chicken and egg bowl, but I ended up choosing the chicken and egg bowl with a yolk on top. This style of chicken and egg bowl with a yolk on top is common in traditional restaurants in Kyoto, but lately, it can be found in various establishments. Many places emphasize using high-quality chicken like Nagoya Cochin and high-quality eggs as their selling point, but I personally value the cooking process more than the ingredients. It's rare to find a chicken and egg bowl cooked to the perfect medium-rare state, and it's a delight when you do. Also, in gourmet manga, there's often the iconic lid on top of the chicken and egg bowl. In this region, the chicken and egg bowl with Mitsuba (Japanese parsley) isn't commonly seen, but it was delicious. The addition of sansho pepper made it even tastier. I love places that offer chicken and egg bowls with sansho pepper, as it enhances the flavor. The miso soup had fried tofu and seaweed in it, and the seaweed had a chewy texture, unlike the thin ones you usually find in regular restaurants. Overall, the meal was very satisfying.

This is a restaurant located in the B1F dining area of Abeno Chika, the underground shopping area in front of Tennoji Station on the JR and subway lines. It specializes in rice bowl dishes and is operated by Gourmet Kineya. The menu includes various rice bowl dishes such as katsudon and oyakodon, as well as udon and soba noodles, but the main dish here is the tempura rice bowl. I tried the "Nigiwai Tendon" which includes shrimp, squid, conger eel, eggplant, green pepper, and shiitake mushrooms. The tempura was crispy and hot, with the shrimp being tender. The vegetables were also nicely fried, although the conger eel was a bit powdery in texture. The tempura sauce was lightly drizzled, perfect for those who prefer a milder flavor. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

"Dondon~ Panpan~ Donpanpan~" Huh? It used to be a rice bowl restaurant, but now it's called "Donbontei"! The interior is exactly the same. I ordered the Tamago Toji Don (rice bowl with scrambled egg) and miso soup for 630 yen including tax. Even though I asked for less rice, it was quite a generous portion! The tempura had shrimp and squid. Sprinkling plenty of sansho pepper on top and eating it with the creamy egg was delicious! I added shichimi spice to the miso soup. I found out later that for an additional 120 yen, you can upgrade to a Tamago Don with two eggs! I'll definitely try that next time!

Today, I went out a bit and got off at Tennoji Station on the Tanimachi Line. I entered this Donburi Tei restaurant, which is currently having an open campaign. I sat at the counter and ordered a tempura bowl and udon set. It's a well-known chain restaurant, so I expected a reliable taste, and it didn't disappoint. I got 3 vegetable tempura and 3 shrimp tempura. The portion size was quite generous. If there wasn't enough sauce, you could adjust by adding some from the sauce provided on the table. The batter wasn't as crispy as I would have liked. I entered around 1 PM, so maybe it was made in advance? It might be best to go right after they open for the most delicious experience. Thank you for the meal!

Tempura rice bowl is delicious, but chicken and egg rice bowl is just okay! January 10th is Service Day, so the value for money is good.
