In Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture, there is a company called Shinzaburo Shoten Co., Ltd., established on May 1, 2000. They produce and sell their flagship product "Mataichi no Shio" using seawater from the Genkainada Sea. In addition to various products made with salt, they also sell miscellaneous goods, tableware, and operate a restaurant. One of their popular products is the "Shio wo Kakete Taberu Purin" (Pudding with Salt). Visitors can also observe the salt-making process at their salt workshop called "Koubou Tottan" and enjoy salt-boiled eggs, potatoes, coffee, seasonal fruit drinks, as well as products like "Mataichi no Shio" and "Shio wo Kakete Taberu Purin". At their retail store, Shinzaburo Shoten, they offer a variety of products including the unique "Goma Purin" (Sesame Pudding) not available at the workshop. They also have affiliated stores on the premises, such as "Gohan Yaitaru" and "Sumi Cafe". During a visit on a Friday afternoon, the store was busy but there was no wait to purchase the pudding. They offer Plain, Caramel, Sesame, and Salted Red Bean flavors. The prices were as follows: Flower Salt Plain - 400 yen, Burnt Salt Caramel - 450 yen, Flower Salt Sesame - 450 yen. I purchased three flavors for a total of 1400 yen, including an additional 100 yen for a cooling pack. The pudding was soft, creamy, and smooth in texture. The Plain flavor was rich and creamy, the Caramel had a bittersweet taste, and the Sesame had a fragrant sesame paste on top. Adding salt to the pudding enhanced the flavors, especially in the Caramel and Plain flavors. Overall, my personal preference ranking was Plain, Caramel, and Sesame. The ability to adjust the salt level to taste was a nice touch. The experience was enjoyable, and I would recommend trying their unique pudding flavors.
