Culture Day! Around noon, my eldest daughter went to school and my eldest son went to his club activities, so they were out and about. I, on the other hand, decided to relax at home, watching TV and taking it easy due to my usual fatigue. In the evening, we decided to go out for dinner together, taking advantage of the government's go to EAT campaign. We made a reservation at a Korean food stall called Toraji Sakai Ekimae, which we had been curious about for a while. Among the various courses available, we chose the all-you-can-eat BBQ A course, considering cost performance and other factors. The price was 1980 yen for men and 1780 yen for women (excluding tax), and it included unlimited servings of beef tongue, kalbi, chicken, pork, as well as various types of offal such as heart and intestine, kimchi, chijimi, rice, soup, and more. The exterior of the restaurant, as the name suggests, had a lively stall-like atmosphere with a large sign welcoming us. Upon arrival, we were served kimchi, chijimi, and other dishes. We were told that there was a 2-hour wait for walk-in customers, so it seems to be quite popular. We started by ordering drinks. There was a time-limited offer until 7 pm where alcohol-related drinks were discounted, so my eldest daughter ordered a chu-hi (200 yen) and my eldest son ordered a soft drink (200 yen). The prices of the drinks were also reasonable. As for the food, we started with beef tongue, pork, and chicken, then moved on to heart and intestine, ordering more and more dishes. We enjoyed kimchi, chijimi, and other dishes while our appetite grew. The flavors were not exceptionally delicious, but considering the price, they were satisfying. The intestine was especially tender and tasty. We also ordered rice, soup, and more chijimi as we continued to eat. Before we knew it, we were all full and had truly enjoyed the food culture on Culture Day. The staff at the restaurant seemed busy but were working hard to serve customers. Thank you for the meal.
