On Saturday, after work until noon, I wandered around Hakozaki looking for lunch as usual. It was around 1:30 pm, a bit late, so I was hoping to find something light to eat. That's when I noticed a menu posted outside a restaurant - "Ryugyoza." The restaurant is a Chinese diner located near the old tram street in Hakozaki 3-chome, close to the former Kyushu University bus stop (now Hakozaki Sancho-me bus stop). A native couple runs the restaurant, with the wife in the kitchen and the husband handling the customers. It was past the peak hours, so the restaurant was empty, with only one other customer. I was seated at a table. The owner brought out the menu, and I decided to order the top item on the menu - Chicken Karaage Set Meal (680 yen including tax). While waiting and sipping on cold water, the set meal arrived. The karaage was freshly fried after I placed my order, so it was piping hot! The outer coating was crispy, and the inside was juicy with the delicious flavor of chicken. It wasn't seasoned by default, so I adjusted the taste with salt and pepper on the table. The set meal included rice, pickles, salad, and soup. The salad was shredded cabbage with a sesame dressing, a nice change since leafy vegetables have been expensive lately. The soup was a Chinese-style soup with wakame seaweed, perfectly seasoned. The price was reasonable, and the portion was just right for a slightly late lunch, I think 680 yen was worth it. Most importantly, the freshly fried karaage was a delight. Fried food is always best when served fresh. Although I didn't try the gyoza this time, I look forward to trying the gyoza made by the native couple on my next visit.

I want to eat some dumplings from the mainland! Although they offer set meals for lunch here, I only wanted the mainland-style dumplings, so I asked if I could order just the dumplings. The male staff in the dining area replied, "I don't understand Japanese." It seems like this place is really authentic! Luckily, the female staff in the kitchen noticed me and I was able to place an order for just the dumplings. I received 12 steamed dumplings for 700 yen. They smelled great! Let's dig in! They were delicious! The filling was basic with no garlic, and the seasoning was mild. They weren't mind-blowingly delicious, but they were the kind of dumplings you could eat every day. I don't usually eat steamed dumplings, but these were pleasantly chewy. They weren't too greasy, and I finished them in no time. Delicious dumplings, thank you for the meal! I will definitely visit again.

Last year's topic. In Hakozaki, Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City, there is a Chinese restaurant called Gyoza Li Yakuin, which is completely unrelated to the famous Gyoza Li. Champon costs 680 yen, fried dumplings cost 480 yen, and fried chive dumplings cost 180 yen. The champon is based on chicken broth, giving it a milky and mild flavor with richness and depth. The ingredients include pork and bean sprouts, but there is a lack of seafood, which is a bit disappointing in terms of visual impact. One notable aspect is that the restaurant name includes "dumplings," and they offer a variety of dumplings and dim sum, including winged dumplings with a chewy skin and plenty of filling, as well as delicious chive dumplings. Despite being a Chinese restaurant, they also offer Chinese dishes that are suitable for Japanese tastes, as well as authentic dishes for Chinese customers. Honestly, this restaurant is of a higher level than expected and comes highly recommended. The chopsticks are the long, angular type typically found in Chinese restaurants, making it difficult to pick up noodles, which is quite memorable.

When I visited the restaurant, I remembered eating pan-fried dumplings alone at the counter surrounded by locals when it first opened. Since then, the menu has expanded significantly. I couldn't decide on just one filling for the boiled dumplings, but ended up choosing shrimp, chives, and egg for 25 pieces for 1,000 yen. The chives stood out the most, followed by the egg. The shrimp was okay. The shrimp chili was really delicious, but the shrimp mayo was just okay. The shredded pork with green peppers was light and tasty. The pan-fried dumplings were okay, while the steamed buns were just okay. The dan dan noodles were spicy and unique. Overall, it was a decent meal. Thank you for the meal!

"Li Gyoza" in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture is a Chinese restaurant that serves classic Chinese dishes. The staff are from China and the restaurant has about 6-8 table seats. I ordered pan-fried dumplings, boiled dumplings, steamed dumplings, century egg tofu, eggplant tempura, and okoge. The dumpling skins are thick and the filling is light. The portions are generous overall. The best dish I had was the five-flavor okoge. The hot okoge with seafood sauce poured over it creates a sizzling sound and a delicious aroma fills the restaurant. The sauce is filled with plenty of ingredients and has just the right balance of flavors, making it very tasty.

Li Gyoza Yakuin's gyoza is different from Gyoza no Li. It is run by a Chinese couple. The mother can speak Japanese. All the dishes are delicious. There are many Chinese customers. Sometimes the father takes a nap. - Grilled gyoza (8 pieces) 480 yen - Cabbage, Chinese cabbage, leeks, thin crispy skin, with wings - Highball 400 yen, quite strong, recommend with more soda Enjoy a leisurely drink while feeling the exotic atmosphere. After buying bread and a sandwich, I was feeling a bit hungry on my way back, so I decided to look for a lunch spot. Near Panhanare, I found two Chinese restaurants. The other one looked nice, but I couldn't see inside from the outside and didn't know the menu, so I hesitated. When it comes to Chinese food, I prefer places with set meals, but there are also places where you share dishes with your family, which can be intimidating when dining alone. Gyoza Li had lunch menu displayed outside, making it easy for me to enter. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken set for 680 yen. The restaurant was run by a Chinese couple, and the interior seemed like it used to be an izakaya with Chinese music playing. The father was quite unfriendly, but that added to the charm of the place. The Kung Pao Chicken was delicious. It wasn't too heavily seasoned, and the side dishes were satisfying. If this is only 680 yen, it's really great. Thank you for the meal.

This is a Chinese restaurant located along the Fureai Street in Hakozaki. I had lunch here on this day. The restaurant also operates as a Chinese izakaya at night, with a spacious layout. I ordered the Qingjiao Rousi set meal from the lunch menu. The set meal, priced at 780 yen, included egg drop soup as the soup, a vegetable salad with sesame dressing, fried chicken, and almond jelly for dessert. The main dish, Qingjiao Rousi, was served generously on a plate with a refined and mild taste. The restaurant is located near the Hakozaki 3-chome bus stop. I visited a restaurant in Hakozaki that serves home-style cuisine from northeastern China called Li Jiaozi. It seems to be unrelated to the popular Gyoza Li in Yakuin. They have a menu in Japanese, but also a more unique menu in Chinese, so it might be fun to challenge yourself with the help of the owner. The appetizers were well-prepared, with no unpleasant odor. The spicy beef honeycomb tripe was delicious and went well with beer. The potato salad was mild and well-seasoned. The stir-fried pea shoots had a nice garlic flavor and a crunchy texture. The pork and celery dumplings were light and tasty. The pan-fried dumplings were crispy and perfectly cooked. The spiced lamb was flavorful with a hint of cumin. The sauerkraut and pork belly hot pot was amazing, with homemade sauerkraut adding a refreshing acidity. The dish also included pork belly with skin, providing a satisfying texture. The meal ended with lettuce and shrimp fried rice, a popular dish from northeastern Chinese cuisine. Most dishes ranged from 600 to 800 yen, but the portions were generous, so it's best enjoyed with a group of around four people to try a variety of dishes.

I came for lunch this time! Among the many options, I narrowed it down to mapo tofu set meal and sweet and sour pork set meal... and ultimately decided on the sweet and sour pork. It was served without much of a wait, and to my surprise, a small portion of mapo tofu was included as well! I was happy about that. The portion size was just right, and all this for 780 yen is cheap. Lunch sets are mostly priced at 680 yen, and I think everything here is a good deal. As for the taste, it was delicious but not particularly special. However, considering the affordability, I felt that the cost performance was quite good. Thank you for the meal.

After having yakiniku, I passed by a place called "Ryugyoza" that caught my interest. I thought, why not try some gyoza. As I looked at the menu, it seemed more like a Chinese restaurant than a gyoza place. I ordered a mysterious soft drink, some pan-fried gyoza (which I thought was the main dish but got buried in the menu), and the standout item - boiled gyoza. The price for 25 gyoza (1,000 yen) caught my attention, but I underestimated Chinese cuisine thinking they would be small. What came out were regular-sized boiled gyoza, plump and delicious! They were filled with a mix of shrimp, chives, and egg, and tasted great with just vinegar and chili oil. The pan-fried gyoza had a nice crispy edge. I wanted to try more dishes at this place, but I was already full. Next time, I'll make this my first stop.

I was drawn in by the gyoza with wings and went to eat. I ordered the "Yaki Gyoza Set Meal," and the complimentary fried chicken was also very delicious!

Family evening meal on a holiday. Hako-zaki "Li Gyoza" September 21, 2017 NEW! Theme: Fukuoka City Higashi-ku Official Hashtag Ranking: 位 A family of three for dinner on a holiday. We went a little far and visited "Li Gyoza" in Hako-zaki. It used to be a Chinese herbal hot pot restaurant, but it recently changed. There is a similar named restaurant in Yakuin, but it seems unrelated. When we entered the restaurant, a lively Chinese family was dining there, creating a completely away atmosphere. The menu also had items written in Chinese, and we started with draft beer. We had the delicious "Hui Guo Rou" for 780 yen as an appetizer. The large black fungus was a nice touch, and we felt like we were in the real deal. We had to order some gyoza, but the boiled gyoza with 25 pieces for 1000 yen was too much for us, so we went with the steamed gyoza with 12 pieces for 700 yen. They were chewy and juicy, with the meat juice bursting out. Unfortunately, the way they poured the draft beer was not great, so we switched to bottled beer. The Chinese probably don't appreciate the foaminess of the beer. The child had the mapo rice bowl (650 yen) and was satisfied. It was quite spicy. All the dishes were delicious! The owner and staff were not very friendly, but the food was great! ● Shop information Li Gyoza 092-641-8787 Fukuoka City Higashi-ku Hako-zaki 3-9-22
