In May 2022, a croissant specialty store called "and Uehommachi Store" opened in Osaka Uehommachi! It seems to be a highly anticipated opening, as it was popular in Minami-Semba. I happened to visit one weekday when the store opened, and to my surprise, there was a line forming outside the store even before opening. The pricing for the lunch options with all-you-can-eat croissants for 90 minutes was quite high at 2,480 yen and 2,980 yen, so I decided to skip the cafe experience. The croissants on display were elaborately decorated, but the prices were mostly around 388 yen each, which seemed quite expensive. I ended up trying a cinnamon roll with cream cheese and a maple sandwich, but the flavors were just okay, not exceptional. The atmosphere and service were good, but many customers also commented on the high prices. Overall, I would give it a rating of 2.5 stars, as the taste and value for money were lacking. The store may cater to a more affluent clientele, but for the average customer, it may not be the best choice.

I visited a popular shop that I saw on Instagram. I heard from a friend that reservations are accepted at the store, so I went there to make a reservation. There are several course options, and you can only choose the bread. You can choose between course + 1 bread, course + 3 breads, or all-you-can-eat bread. I chose the course + 3 breads option. The truffle salt bread was amazing. You must try it. The course dishes were also delicious, but the bread was the highlight. The bread is so good that it outshines the course dishes. It seems like you can also take the bread home. Taking the bread home might be more cost-effective.

Rich pistachio croissant for ¥388... 2 chorizo & chili beans for ¥388... 3.8 on Sunday around 12:30. Two customers seated before us (excluding lunch). Cost performance: average. The variety of croissants is impressive. The pistachio one was disappointing as it was hollow inside. The chorizo had a satisfying weight and texture, but the dough was not typical croissant-like, which I personally enjoyed.

It would have been better if the seating area was larger, as I was surprised that only 5 groups were allowed in at a time. Sweet croissants can get a bit overwhelming during a meal!

Overall, it was a shop where you could feel the use of high-quality ingredients. You can pay with pay pay.

The breads were all glossy and looked and tasted great! I loved them so much that I ended up eating 9 of them. The speed of service is a bit slow. Since there is only 90 minutes, you can only order a total of 3 times. When I went just after an hour from opening, there were 3-4 items sold out and couldn't be ordered anymore. I didn't use the restroom, but I heard there is one on the second floor. There were some terrace seats at the entrance. Piano BGM was playing, and the interior had a driving range-like feel, with the kitchen visible and bustling. The brisk women who took orders and served inside were not rude as some mentioned.

Instagram followers over 9000 ★ Located 2 minutes walk from Osaka Uehommachi Station on the Kintetsu Line, this bakery (with plenty of croissants) and cafe is called "and." I noticed a crowd of people passing by, so I decided to stop by. There were plenty of croissants available, and everyone was taking photos. They definitely seem Instagram-worthy. I got two croissants for 696 yen, and they were delicious. There are so many varieties that I want to try the kouign-amann next time.
