Lunch for the day. I made a promise on TikTok, so I went to Yao for eel. 'Unagi Saitaniya Yao Shop'. It's very close to Kawachiyamamoto Station. Next to it is Mandai. I entered the store. There is a raised kitchen position on the right, which honestly feels a bit cramped. In my opinion as a former supermarket advisor, the fact that you can't see the staff at all (like Ms. Susumu) makes it difficult to call out, which I think is a negative point. I ordered the #Unaju Tokujou (special eel rice bowl) and one skewer of liver, as well as the eel zaku set. As a service for coming after seeing TikTok, I also received #mitarashi dango. The eel seemed to be Kanto-style. The flesh was firm and fluffy, well-cooked and fragrant. I think it's good eel. It doesn't have the typical sweetness of "eel sauce," but rather a taste that minimizes sweetness, closer to shiroyaki (lightly grilled eel). It was delicious. The sweetness is also mild. The soft dango with sweet bean paste inside also had a slight sweetness. I think it's delicious in its own way. The cramped feeling at the counter may need some improvement. There are a few other points that I think could be improved, but I rarely go to Yao, so if I have the chance, I might mention it. Thank you for the meal. #Yao City #Kawachiyamamoto Station #Mandai Yamamoto Shop #Saitaniya #Unagi Saitaniya #Unagi Saitaniya Yao Shop #Eel Attack Girls #Not Sweet Eel #Personally, I like eel with sweetness #I want the soup to be liver soup #Towards the end, the eel's fat feels heavy #Overall, the taste feels monotonous #There are points to be careful about in terms of hygiene #Let's look closely at every corner #The high counter inhibits that #With a little effort, improvements can be made #Good luck

I was very impressed with the grilled eel in terms of cooking and portion size. They grill it after you order, so you get a piping hot Kanto-style eel. The sauce was also delicious, and I was able to enjoy a soft and fragrant eel rice bowl. I will definitely visit again.

The world is in the middle of a long holiday, but I had to work. On my way home from work, I decided to stop by a newly opened eel specialty restaurant near the station (even though it has been open for over half a year). It was around 6 o'clock in the evening and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained, just as the reviews had mentioned. Since many businesses in this location tend to not last long, I hesitated to visit, but I love eel so I decided to give it a try. I sat at the counter and ordered the premium eel rice bowl for 2900 yen (one eel) with extra rice for free. I also wanted to order the liver skewers for 800 yen, but I ended up ordering the liver butter for 950 yen, which turned out to be sautéed liver with butter. It was interesting, so I decided to try it. The young lady who took my order seemed to be the only staff in the kitchen area, as I couldn't see anyone else behind the high wall. I thought an experienced chef would come out to cook, but it was just the young lady handling everything. I have no prejudices against young women working in the kitchen, as long as the food tastes good. However, my mind started to wander with unnecessary imaginations as I heard the sound of tearing plastic, taking out ingredients from a bag, and the sound of a gas burner. The eel that was served seemed to be pre-cooked and then quickly heated and seared on the surface with a gas burner. It was plump, but it didn't quite meet my expectations, especially since I am used to the taste of eel cooked over high heat on charcoal. The liver butter, on the other hand, was delicious with less bitterness due to being sautéed in butter. It was more like a side dish than a snack to enjoy with drinks. I had high hopes for this eel restaurant near my home, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations.

Unagi Sakidani is located right near Kintetsu Kawachi-Yamamoto Station. They use high-quality Japanese eel and cook it in a fluffy steamed and grilled style with soy sauce from a long-established brewery founded in 1930. The difference between Kanto-style and Kansai-style eel preparation is explained. The restaurant, which opened last year, is clean and welcoming for women, with counter seats available for solo diners. They offer various options of unagi dishes, with the special unagi rice bowl priced at 2900 yen. The liver skewer and eel set is also recommended. The unagi rice bowl is fluffy and delicious, with just the right amount of sweetness in the sauce. The liver skewer has a unique texture and pairs well with alcohol. Takeout is also available, with microwave-safe containers provided.

A shop where you can enjoy 'Kanto-style' unagi (eel) at a reasonable price, steamed and grilled to perfection. As you can see in the photo, it's 'nikuatsu' (meaty). The secret lies in the special sauce made by simmering eel heads and bones in soy sauce from a well-established brewery for 15 years. Takeout is also available, so having an unagi party at home is a great idea. On this day, I had the following:
- Unaju (eel on rice) - superb. Look at this volume ❤️ It's only 3900 yen and you get one and a half eels! The thick, juicy meat and flavorful sauce make it a satisfying meal. This was truly a delicious and happy lunchtime. Thank you ❤️.

I was invited to try Kanto-style unagi-don and I went there. I love eel but haven't had the chance to eat it this year until now. The restaurant has been open for a few months and it is very clean. There are counter seats and tables, so it caters to all kinds of customers. They also offer takeout, so it's great for those who want to eat eel on a drive or at home. This time, I had the special (1.5 eels) for 3,900 yen. It was a huge portion! The thick, carefully selected "Japanese eel" at this price is amazing. They cook it in a Kanto-style after you order. It's a great deal, right? The eel is served with a sauce made from the eel's head and bones, simmered slowly in a soy sauce from a long-established brewery founded in 1926. It's a bit far from the city, but you can enjoy delicious eel at a reasonable price, so I recommend it! Thank you for the meal!

I found this eel restaurant while out on business in Yao. They serve Kanto-style eel. I ordered the regular size for 1700 yen. The portion was huge. I thought if the regular size is this big, the larger sizes must be amazing. The eel was tender and delicious. I've never had eel like this before. The staff were also very kind. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again.

Just a 2-minute walk from Kawachi-Yamamoto Station♫ Enjoy delicious Kanto-style grilled eel at Saigaya, where eel dishes start at 1,700 yen! This long-established brewery, founded in 1926, uses carefully selected thick-cut "Japanese eel" and a special sauce made by simmering eel heads and bones at high temperature. The sauce pairs perfectly with the light eel and hot rice. The thick, juicy texture and delicious flavor of the eel are unbeatable. The "Special Grilled Eel Rice Bowl" is the size of a whole fat eel, so you can fully enjoy the eel! It's packed with eel and priced at only 2,900 yen including tax. The liver skewers were also delicious with no off-putting flavors. The restaurant, which opened in November 2022, has a calm atmosphere and is clean, making it a great spot for a date! There are also counter seats, making it easy for solo diners to enjoy a meal.
