Today, I went to a sushi restaurant in Tanimachi Rokuchome. I made a reservation in advance and entered the restaurant. When I think of Tani 6, I usually imagine the Karahori shopping street, the filming location of Princess Toyotomi, and stylish cafes. However, when I ventured down a side street, I found a sushi restaurant inside a traditional longhouse building!!! I visited Sushi Fukuman, a place highly recommended by my reviewer friends. Although I had heard that they only had a counter, the spacious layout of the restaurant made it feel not cramped at all. The high ceiling and spacious interior created a comfortable dining environment. We started with a selection of sashimi before moving on to sushi. Each piece of sashimi was served differently, some with soy sauce, some with wasabi, some with sudachi and salt, and some as they are. Regardless of how you eat them, each piece was satisfying. The sushi course was a delight, with each piece of nigiri bringing a smile to my face. The highlight was a small ikura bowl, with soy-marinated ikura, wasabi, and vinegared rice. Mixing it all together released a subtle nori flavor that lingered in my mouth and nose. We ended the meal with anago, chawanmushi, and tamago. The sake paired perfectly with the meal. Despite eating and drinking for almost 3 hours, I was pleasantly surprised that the bill was only around 10,000 yen. I couldn't help but worry about the restaurant's revenue. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. Thank you for the feast!

I went to have dinner at Fukuman, a sushi restaurant in Matsuyamachi, Osaka. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Matsuyamachi Station. Next to it, there is a trendy takoyaki restaurant called "Takoriki" where you can enjoy takoyaki while drinking champagne. I made a reservation online through Tabelog in advance. It is usually difficult to get a reservation, but for some reason, I was able to secure one at the last minute. Fukuman is a sushi restaurant with only 8 counter seats located inside the Sogo complex in Kuromori. The atmosphere is not overly luxurious, but it is a calming space. The course I had was the Omakase course for 18,000 yen per person. Here are some of the dishes I enjoyed: - Ishikage clam with somen noodles - Akou sashimi - Bonito tataki - Mackerel sushi - Kamonasu eggplant chawanmushi - Lake Biwa eel (grilled and sauce) - Tai (sea bream) - Kensaki squid - Nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) - Pickled dish - Chutoro (medium fatty tuna) - Kohada (gizzard shad) shincho - Kohada (gizzard shad) - Yura sea urchin - Hiragai clam - Kuruma prawn - Anago (sea eel) - Toro-taku - Tamago (egg) - Akadashi (red miso soup) - Shine Muscat grapes, pineapple The total cost was around 20,000 yen per person. The sushi was delicious, the cost performance was good, and I was satisfied with the experience. Personally, I feel that having sushi at Fukuman twice is much more cost-effective than dining at high-end sushi restaurants in Tokyo that typically cost around 50,000 yen. Fukuman is loved by locals in Osaka and represents what a sushi restaurant should be. It was a wonderful dining experience. Thank you very much.

Located near Matsuyamachi-Suohori Shotengai, Sushi Fukuman is a highly sought-after restaurant with a waitlist of several months. By chance, I was able to visit this renowned establishment due to a cancellation. Their omakase course priced at 18,000 yen offers exceptional value with a generous variety of appetizers and nigiri sushi. The attention to detail in each dish allows the true flavors of the fish to shine through. The meal included 10 appetizers, such as conger eel and matsutake mushroom soup, as well as 13 nigiri sushi pieces, including splendid items like marinated tuna and fresh water eel. The overall quality and quantity of the dishes for a price in the 10,000 yen range truly reflect the reputation of this difficult-to-book restaurant.

I was lured by an Instagram post to visit this sushi restaurant, but the taste of the sushi lacked flavor. While some dishes were excellent, others were quite disappointing. Although the restaurant is popular, it seems to have been influenced by social media trends. The cost performance may be good, but there are plenty of sushi restaurants that are equally delicious at the same price point nowadays.

"Sushi Fukuman," which was selected as one of the top 100 restaurants in Tabelog 2022 and is known for being extremely difficult to make reservations for up to six months in advance, is located in the Matsuyamachi and Kawaramachi area. Thanks to a friend's recommendation, I was lucky enough to secure a canceled reservation. The exterior and interior of the restaurant have a stylish, traditional Japanese house-like atmosphere, with seating available only at the counter. The high ceilings create a relaxed and comfortable ambiance. The standard course meal is served, with the option to add more dishes at the end. The meal starts with exquisite appetizers, offering a variety of colorful and flavorful dishes. The sake pairing included "Ryusen Junmai Daiginjo" from Osaka and "Jikomi Junmai Ginjo" from Mie Prefecture. The traditional sushi, crafted with precision and skill, features fresh toppings, perfectly seasoned rice, and a delicate touch of the chef's knife. The sushi melts in your mouth, leaving a delicious taste. After enjoying dessert with Shine Muscat grapes, I was more than satisfied. I checked the availability for the next reservation on the same day, and I was able to secure a table for February, six months later. I enjoyed the summer ingredients in August, and I am looking forward to trying the winter delicacies next time. Absolutely delicious."

The dishes we received were a tax-included course for ¥18,000. Appetizers included Ishigake shellfish and somen noodles, Nanjing-style grilled chicken skewers, fresh sashimi of aconite, kensaba mackerel, and kohada sushi. There were also eggplant and shrimp chawanmushi, Aomori rock seaweed and octopus sunomono, konbu seaweed with ankimo liver, Nara pickles, Hokkaido sea urchin, steamed oysters from Senpoushi, abalone sushi, grilled eel, and teriyaki. For nigiri sushi, we had sea bream, swordtip squid, marinated tuna, medium fatty tuna, crab, sea urchin, shrimp, conger eel, fatty tuna, red miso soup, Shine Muscat grapes, and pineapple. We enjoyed bottled beer and sake from Fukuman Brewery. It was a satisfying meal!

I had made a reservation at Fukuman, a restaurant with a nice atmosphere in an old folk house style. The menu consists of a set course only. It starts with sashimi, followed by the seasonal conger eel in July, and various other dishes. I love chawanmushi, and the chawanmushi here was exquisite - a dish I will never forget. The sushi ranged from firm sea bream to the unique flavors of shinko (young gizzard shad). The sake kept flowing. There were many other delicious dishes that I couldn't possibly list them all, but this is a wonderful restaurant that can make people happy. I definitely want to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

This is a restaurant where you leave everything to the chef. It started with about 5-6 appetizers and then we had around 11 pieces of sushi. Everything was delicately prepared and served at the perfect timing. The corn chawanmushi I tried for the first time was exquisite. The eel was the most delicious, especially the natural eel. It was prepared in two ways, grilled and broiled, with crispy skin and amazing texture. The rich flavor of the fat oozed out with every bite. I also enjoyed a variety of sake, and for around 20,000 yen per person, it was well worth it. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

A restaurant located between Kuromori, Matsuyamachi, and Yotsubashi-rokuchome in Osaka. It has been selected as one of the top 100 sushi restaurants in the Foodlog Sushi WEST Top 100 in 2022. It has become difficult to make reservations starting this year. A friend of mine, who is a regular customer, made a reservation for me in December, and I was able to go there. It is a place where you can enjoy high-quality sushi at a reasonable price in a traditional Japanese house setting. The counter where the sushi is placed was well maintained and clean. The first hour was filled with delicious appetizers and various dishes, while the second hour was filled with delicious sushi. The atmosphere was very cozy and I really liked it. They seem to accept phone reservations for new customers once a month, but I'm not sure about the details. Basically, you go with a regular customer and make a reservation for the next visit. Of course, I also made a reservation for the next visit, which was four months later. It's a highly recommended restaurant. On February 16, 2023 (Thursday), the dishes I received were as follows: flounder sashimi, swordfish and mackerel sushi, steamed egg custard with oysters and spinach, fugu shirako, simmered seaweed with sea urchin, ankimo (monkfish liver), pickled Nara turnips, tender steamed octopus, abalone sushi, red snapper, squid, baby whitebait, shrimp, crab, sea urchin, ikura (salmon roe) bowl, simmered conger eel, fatty tuna, red clam, sardine, crab leg, and more. The meal also included red miso soup, rolled omelette, fatty tuna, and red miso soup. For drinks, there were Sapporo Lager, Akahoshi, Kuro Ryu Daiginjo, Tanaka Rokugo Junmai, and various other sake options.

We ordered the omakase course for 15,000 yen, which included a variety of dishes such as sashimi, steamed egg with bamboo shoots and spinach, fugu shirako, and nigiri sushi with a selection of seafood. The restaurant had a retro atmosphere with well-maintained high ceilings and spacious seating. The food was delicious and the overall cost performance was great at 20,000 yen per person. The location and interior of the renovated row house have a nice atmosphere. The staff's hospitality is great, and the sushi, despite being reasonably priced, offers a wide variety and is of good quality. Reservations are necessary, but you can also casually drop by at the nearby Kuromon Market. Highly recommended.

"Jet lag posting" The first sushi of the year started from my beloved sushi restaurant, Sushi Fukuman. The restaurant is located a little off the beaten path from Sora-bori Shopping Street, in a renovated old house with a fantastic atmosphere. The swinging pendulum clock gives off a slow and nostalgic vibe. As soon as I sat down, I was served a delicious bowl of shirako kasu soup, followed by a course of 22 amazing dishes, including sushi. The mackerel sushi was especially outstanding. The food was so delicious that I may have had a bit too much to drink, thanks to the perfectly recommended sake by the chef. The atmosphere, the food, and the hospitality were all top-notch. I look forward to visiting Fukuman again many times this year. Oh, and I've already made a reservation for next year's New Year's feast. It may be early, but I couldn't resist..."

In a quaint alley, there is a charming old sushi restaurant. Both the atmosphere and the sushi were excellent! The portion size and price were great. I visited in December, and the sea urchin and crab were superb. The sushi with a mix of salmon roe and sea urchin on vinegar rice was the most delicious. I would love to visit again at a different time of year!

The exterior of the restaurant was charming and the interior had a calming atmosphere. The sushi was served at a nice pace and had a rhythmic quality to it. I tried the oyster chawanmushi for the first time and it was delicious, filled with umami flavor along with the broth. My favorite sushi today was the crab sushi. I also made a reservation for my next visit.

It's been a while since I visited Fukuman. Starting with the appetizers, the turnip with clam broth was delicious with a moist saltiness that enhanced the flavor of bonito. I love their mackerel sushi rolls, could eat them all day! The chawanmushi with plenty of shirako was a rare treat. The natural eel dishes were amazing, especially the grilled white eel with sauce. Fukuman never disappoints, even with just the appetizers, you'll leave satisfied.

This is a famous sushi restaurant located near Tanimachi 6-chome in Kawaramachi. The interior has only 8 counter seats, but it feels spacious with high ceilings. The head chef trained at the famous Akashi Kikusui in Hyogo before opening this restaurant. It is also worth noting that the head chef is the younger disciple of the head chef at Kizuna in Kyobashi. The sushi rice is small and slightly firm with a low acidity. The whitebait chawanmushi and the huge Japanese eel were particularly impressive. Overall, everything was delicious. I will definitely visit again. The course included soup, hamo and matsutake mushroom soup, sea bream sashimi, Iwate's returning bonito sushi, mackerel sushi, cod milt chawanmushi, Akashi octopus, black beans, oysters, Biwako's Japanese eel sushi, kawahagi sushi, swordtip squid sushi, shinko sushi, golden eye snapper sushi, akami zuke sushi, medium fatty tuna bowl, sea urchin and salmon roe small bowl sushi, sardine sushi, glass shrimp sushi, simmered conger eel hand roll, toro soup, moist vegetable red miso sushi, hairy crab, and tamago.

Recently, the prices at sushi restaurants have been going up, so I have a feeling that if I can eat for around 10,000 yen, it's cheap. They cook seasonal ingredients well and have a wide selection of drinks, making it a great choice for any occasion. The prices for drinks are also cheap. Every dish is delicious. Highly recommended are the mackerel, marinated tuna, and eel. Although it's not in season right now, the monkfish liver is so good that I end up ordering seconds.
