I was planning to go to Kagoshima for a day trip. I had plenty of time before my scheduled bullet train departure, so I decided to leave home a little early and have breakfast at Hakata Station. There was a restaurant I had in mind that offered unlimited rice, miso soup, and mentaiko. However, when I arrived at Hakata Station, I wasn't hungry at all. I hesitated but ultimately decided to skip breakfast. With over an hour until departure, I thought about relaxing at a cafe. I decided to go to Komeda Coffee, which I hadn't visited in a while. I arrived at the store around 7:40 AM, and there were many customers inside, both at the tables and the counter. I sat at an empty table and looked at the menu. I was planning to have coffee and a morning set, but another menu item caught my eye. I debated whether to save it for another visit, but since I had time, I decided to order it. I asked the waiter for Komeda Blend with a morning set of toast, boiled egg, and butter. I also ordered the seasonal limited menu item, Shirunoir Black Mont Blanc. I wondered if the Black Mont Blanc was only available in Kyushu or nationwide. While waiting for my order, I noticed that most customers seemed to be stopping by before work, including both young and elderly patrons. I regretted not choosing a seat with a power outlet, as I wanted to charge my phone. My order arrived in about 10 minutes. The toast was soft and spread with butter, a classic breakfast item. The boiled egg was average, and the Komeda Blend coffee was smooth and easy to drink. I also had a coffee ticket. After finishing the toast and egg, I asked for the Shirunoir, which was promptly served. It looked very different from the regular Shirunoir, with a generous amount of chocolate. The Black Mont Blanc was delicious, with sweet soft serve and rich chocolate. Although it was tasty, I felt it wasn't a typical breakfast item. I finished it leisurely and paid 1400 yen in cash. The Black Mont Blanc was a reasonable price as a standalone item. The restaurant also accepted various cards and cashless payments. I left the cafe immediately after finishing my meal to continue my journey to Kagoshima.
