Tonight, I tried the main dish of "Chicken Soba Zaging" at the original store after having a delicious bowl of noodles at the branch the other day. When I arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 pm on a holiday, there were 6 people waiting outside in the pouring rain, showing how popular the place is. The ticket machine was located outside, so I bought my ticket before lining up. However, to my surprise, there was no regular menu available today, only the monthly special "Limited Soba." I decided to order the limited soba and after a 12-minute wait, the staff collected my ticket and in just 3 minutes, my meal was served. The operation at this restaurant is very efficient. Now, let's dig in!
"Noodles":
The noodles were beautifully shiny and flat. When I picked up a couple of strands and tried them, they had a bouncy texture and a strong chewiness. The flavor was also excellent, with a nice aroma.
"Dipping Sauce":
The dipping sauce was extremely rich and thick, not sinking even when I placed the noodles on top. The taste was truly chicken-centric, full-bodied, and rich with a gentle touch. Although it may be slightly monotonous, the various toppings added variety to the dish.
"Toppings":
The toppings were outstanding, with the signature fried burdock standing out. Additionally, there were chicken breast, duck meat, pork shoulder loin, chicken thigh, half-boiled egg, white leek, and sprouts. Each topping was delicious on its own, and the abundance of toppings prevented any feeling of monotony.
"Soup Refill":
To finish the meal, I requested a soup refill. The staff brought over the hot soup and served it with bare hands, cautioning me about the heat of the bowl. The soup refill had a relatively clear and delicious flavor.
Overall, the extremely rich dipping sauce, the luxurious array of toppings, and the efficient service made my visit a great success, despite the unexpected limited menu. I look forward to trying the regular Chicken Paitan next time!
