I was able to choose the size of the salad. I had the large size, and it was quite filling. The restaurant is run by a couple, and the service was neither good nor bad, just average. We ordered a bottle of wine separately, so the total came to around 8000 yen for two people.

I have been to this restaurant for lunch several times, but this was my first time going for dinner. The food is reasonably priced and decently tasty, so I decided to try it for dinner as well. I really like the salad that comes with the lunch menu, but unfortunately it wasn't included in the dinner menu. The appetizers were delicious. The fish and meat dishes were average and safe choices. The bread was soft and tasty, and it's always the same kind. They offer bottled beer, wine, and even small bottles of champagne. You can reserve a course and then choose your meat upon arrival. The cake was a bit too sweet for my liking. The service was not exceptional, but the value for money is good.

I stopped by for lunch. I ordered a set meal which included bread, salad, soup, and a main dish. For the main dish, you can choose from fish, meat, beef cheek, or roasted duck. I chose the roasted duck. All the dishes were delicious, especially the salad which was quite filling on its own. The roasted duck was also tasty, with a sauce that would appeal to everyone. In my personal opinion, this restaurant falls into a slightly luxurious price range, but I believe it offers good value for the price, if not more.

An affordable lunch with lots of vegetables and fruits. I chose the roasted duck as the main dish. It costs 1800 yen. The flavor of the vegetables is well utilized. The taste is strong, so it seems like it would go well with wine in the evening.

I searched for the nearest restaurant when I was in the area for something, and this one came up so I decided to give it a try. For lunch, there are two options: 1500 yen for soup, today's dish, and bread, or 2100 yen for salad, soup, choice of meat or fish, bread, and coffee. The meat options include beef cheek, roasted duck, or today's meat dish (hamburger). I couldn't decide, but since I wanted salad, I went with the 2100 yen option. The salad portion was huge! It included soft crab mousse, 2 slices of carpaccio, onsen tamago, grapefruit, and apple. It was quite a generous portion. The onion soup was sweet and delicious, although I could have done without the croutons. The main dish was also substantial, with a large portion of fish or meat and plenty of vegetables. The fish was light and not too buttery, while the hamburger was big and meaty. Overall, a casual French restaurant with decent food for the price. I would have preferred better presentation and cleaning of the dishes. Considering the price, portion size, and taste, I would rate it 3.5 out of 5. I was satisfied and might try the 1500 yen lunch next time.

I visited Alice Kitchen in Kokura Minami-ku. I had high expectations as the reviews on Tabelog were good. The location is in front of the National Hospital, so it's easy to find. There is no parking lot, so I parked at the National Hospital. I chose the A set for lunch, which allows you to choose a main course from fish, meat, or duck. I chose the beef cheek steak, which came with a salad that was quite filling with vegetables, fruits, and scallop terrine. The terrine was creamy and delicious. The cold apple soup that followed was not to my liking as it was thick and dessert-like. The beef cheek steak was tender with sweet seasoning. The overall flavor was on the sweeter side. The seating in the restaurant is a bit cramped, so you might be close to other customers. Overall, the flavor profile tends to be sweet at Alice Kitchen. This is a restaurant that I have been wanting to visit since last year. I went with my daughter. We parked at the coin parking near the national hospital as recommended. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a small and cute atmosphere. We were the only customers at the time. We were seated by the window and I decided to have wine since my daughter was driving. We ordered the 3600 yen course. The appetizers consisted of five dishes - sazae with garlic butter, sweet potato potato salad, thick quiche-like dish, ikura, and ratatouille, all very filling. The pumpkin soup was warm and full of pumpkin flavor. The bread seemed to be homemade, a fluffy and sweet croissant. The main dishes were beef cheek red wine stew and roasted duck. I chose the duck, but it had a slight smell. My daughter enjoyed the beef cheek stew. For dessert, we had sliced fruit pound cake with raspberry sorbet and chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was rich and satisfying. Despite being the only customers, the atmosphere felt a bit rushed, but the food was delicious. We quickly finished our coffee and left the restaurant. I hope to visit again and enjoy a more relaxed dining experience next time. Good luck, Alice's Kitchen!

It was a girls' night out after about half a year. Four of us girls visited Alice Kitchen. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a pharmacy. Since there is no parking lot, we parked at a paid parking lot near the hospital (200 yen for 2 hours). The restaurant has glass walls facing the road, so the inside can be seen clearly from outside. However, since it is on the second floor, we didn't worry too much about being seen. The restaurant has only table seats, with a casual atmosphere rather than a formal one. The space between tables is a bit narrow due to the small size of the restaurant. The four of us girls were chatting non-stop, so it must have been quite noisy (oops). As it is a popular restaurant, we made a reservation a week in advance. The dinner menu only offers four course options: A course for 2,800 yen, B course for 3,500 yen, C course for 5,000 yen, and D course for 7,500 yen. Since it was our first visit, we chose the A course this time. The A course includes salad, appetizer, soup, main dish, dessert, and coffee. For the main dish, you can choose from three options: pan-fried red snapper for fish, braised beef cheek in wine sauce, or roasted duck for meat. My friends chose the meat dishes, while I chose the fish, so we could compare them. First, a huge salad was served. It was overflowing with a variety of ingredients including tomatoes, bell peppers, leafy greens, apples, grapefruits, pate, and terrine. The terrine had a crab flavor, and the pate was rich and delicious. The dressing on the fruits was refreshing and tasty. Next was the hot and creamy sweet potato potage soup, which was flavorful and satisfying. Then came the main dishes. The red snapper was thick and juicy, with crispy skin and a buttery sauce that complemented it perfectly. The mashed potatoes and turnips served as sides were also delicious. The beef cheek in red wine sauce and the roasted duck were equally impressive in appearance and taste, according to my friends. The bread served with the main dishes had a croissant-like shape but was surprisingly different in texture and flavor. It was flaky on the outside and soft on the inside, with a wheaty aroma. The dessert, served in a cocktail glass, consisted of vanilla ice cream, chocolate mousse, cake, and strawberries. It was just the right size. The freshly brewed coffee had a wonderful aroma. After finishing the meal, we felt full and satisfied. The overall impression was that the course meal was classic and well-prepared. The dishes were delicious, satisfying, and free of any unusual flavors. I would definitely like to try their lunch menu next time and maybe even go for a higher course!

Visited the restaurant on a certain day in January and decided to go around the Kokura Minami district with a special person. We chose to have lunch at this highly recommended restaurant. There are three lunch options available for 2100 yen, 3150 yen, and 4200 yen, with an option to upgrade to a fillet steak for an additional 1000 yen. We ordered the B course, which includes appetizers, soup, bread, main course, dessert, and a drink. The appetizers were surprising in terms of portion size and variety. However, the prosciutto and pate had a slight unusual taste that did not match our preferences. The grapefruit, tomato, and turnip provided a refreshing touch. The freshly baked sazae and fluffy quiche were quite filling, while the uni mousse had a nice texture without any overpowering flavors. The pumpkin potage soup was overly sweet for our liking. The hot croissants with flavorful butter were delightful. For the main course, we chose between beef cheek red wine stew and sweet sea bream poêlé, both of which were well-prepared but too sweet for us. The side vegetables were beautifully presented. The dessert consisted of a variety of sweets, with rose jam under the ice cream and strawberries. Coffee, juice, and other drinks were available to choose from. Despite the high ratings from other reviews, the food did not quite match our preferences. Food preferences vary from person to person, making it a challenging aspect. The restaurant was busy with many female customers during lunchtime.

Located in front of the Kokura National Hospital. There is no parking lot. I had heard rumors about how delicious it was for a while, but the price was quite high so I couldn't go there easily (^_^;) This time, I really wanted to eat there, so I decided to go. I climb the stairs As expected, it's quite clean and nice! The atmosphere is also an important element of the food. Although it's not B-class gourmet, it's nice to eat delicious food in a good environment. Finally, after much thought, I climb the stairs and enter the restaurant. There are about 5 tables in the restaurant. It's not very spacious, but it has an open feel. It's quite popular, so sometimes you can't get in without a reservation. This time, I was lucky enough to get in without a reservation (^_^;) It's the lunch menu Lunch costs over 2000 yen. So, for a poor person like me, it's not easy to go... The fact that it costs that much means that there must be some dedication to the food. ...But being a poor person, it goes without saying that I chose the cheapest A set for 2100 yen (^_^;) First is the salad hors d'oeuvre On the surface, there are purple sweet potatoes, scallops, salmon roe, oranges, herbs, lettuce, etc. In the back, there are avocados and chicken ham or pate, I wonder? I didn't expect there to be so much inside, so this alone could be enough as a main dish, I thought! The sweetness, acidity, bitterness, etc. are intricately intertwined, creating an exquisite flavor. Also, the dressing? It also enhances the flavor of the ingredients without spoiling them. For those with small appetites, this alone was enough. If this is the salad hors d'oeuvre, I might not be able to finish the Alice set with two main dishes. That's how fulfilling the salad hors d'oeuvre was. It's soup Pumpkin soup. It seems that the pumpkin was carefully cooked with milk. I thought it might be chunky, but it wasn't. Well, I'm just naive, though (-_-;) It had a balance of sweetness and freshness, and had a deep flavor. I wanted to keep it in my mouth forever... No, I mean, dive in... Oh, I'm sorry m(__)m Please forgive my C-class personality. It's a croissant I don't know if it's homemade with my silly taste buds, but it was fluffy and crispy, quite good. It also had a buttery taste, and it was good enough to eat on its own. Of course, I left it for later. The main dish is pan-fried sea bream The sea bream is accompanied by green peppers, eggplants, and potatoes. It's a cream sauce, but I thought it would be rich, but it was surprisingly light. I thought this was what sets country cooking apart. When eaten as is, it may feel a bit heavy, but when eaten with vegetables, the flavor becomes just right. The sea bream was also carefully prepared, making it easy to eat without much trouble. Despite being light, when mixed with the sauce, the umami is brought out. The way the ingredients are selected and cooked is truly remarkable. When I ate it with the bread I had saved earlier, the sweetness increased and it was quite delicious! It's roast duck I had a little bit, and it was tender and elegantly prepared. I didn't feel any gaminess. It's coffee after the meal The taste is light. Since the main customers are women, it seems like a good selection. I would like to try dinner as well, but I left the restaurant. Overall rating: A The price is reasonable, but I feel like it's worth more than that. Since it's a restaurant for women, it might be difficult to go there casually (^_^;) Alice Kitchen Kokura, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture 1-6-12 Kitakata 093-922-8775 11:30-14:00 18:00-20:00 (Reservation required) Closed irregularly Kitakyu B-grade Gourmet Gourmet Blog Article URL: Alice Kitchen http://yonocafe.blog35.fc2.com/blog-entry-450.html

I went to a local French restaurant that is rumored to have delicious lunch! The atmosphere inside was full of Christmas mood, and the reservation seats were already full until 2 pm. Of course, I made a reservation before going. First, the appetizer was huge in portion (*^_^*) The quiche was especially delicious. In Tokyo, this one plate alone would cost around 2,000 yen. After the crispy croissant, I had a very creamy pumpkin soup! The fish dish had spinach and pumpkin vegetables hidden underneath, and it was best when eaten together with the sauce. The meat was tender beef cheek with plenty of eggplant and shiitake mushrooms. As expected from a vegetable restaurant! The awaited dessert was fig with fondant chocolate and a dollop of fresh chocolate (the topping was not ice cream but fresh chocolate). The cassis sorbet was refreshing, and even after eating the full course for 4,200 yen, I didn't feel bloated. I realized that I must always make a reservation as the restaurant is always full. I discovered a restaurant that I definitely want to visit again. The staff and atmosphere of the restaurant were great, and I highly recommend it to others.

In December 2009, I visited this restaurant for Christmas dinner after enjoying their lunch a few times. We had the Christmas course for 6300 yen and from the uni and avocado appetizer to dessert, my wife and I kept saying "delicious!" The food was really tasty once again. In March 2010, I went back for dinner. They offered 4 course options: A set for 2800 yen, B course for 3500 yen, Wagyu steak course for 4500 yen, and Alice course for 4800 yen. This time, we ordered the Alice course. The appetizers, soup, fish dish, meat dish, dessert, and coffee were all delicious. In October 2010, I revisited for lunch. They had 3 lunch options: A set for 2100 yen, B course for 3150 yen, and Alice course for 4200 yen. I ordered the A set this time and enjoyed the salad, soup, meat dish (red wine-braised beef cheek), and fish dish (sweet sea bream). The flavors were amazing without any bitterness in the vegetables or fishy smell. The salad even had ikura and chicken liver pate, all of which were delicious.

There is a small shop in front of the national hospital that sometimes requires a reservation to enter. I went there for lunch and had the A course, which came with dessert. The salad with avocado and prosciutto was delicious, and the dressing was also good. There was a unique dish with tofu and consommé jelly that turned into soup when mixed. For the main dish, you can choose from fish or meat, with beef cheek stew always being available. The meal also included bread, a drink, and dessert. The chocolate cake I had was very rich and delicious.

At Tabelog, it was registered as French cuisine and in the town information magazine it was described as "exquisite French cuisine", but when I actually went there... I had a 3150 yen lunch. First, the appetizer. However, what came out was a platter of hors d'oeuvres. There was a lot of it, like ham on top of melon, salmon on top of pineapple, but it was all things that even amateurs could make. Next was the soup. It was a sweet potato potage, a bit too sweet for my liking, but it was probably the best among the dishes at this restaurant. For the main course, you can choose from beef cheek stew, fish dishes, hamburgers, etc. I had the beef cheek stew and the fish dish, both tasted like the side dishes you would find at a regular Western-style restaurant. Not bad, but not worth the high price. For dessert, there was something like a chocolate cake and a platter of cut fruits. These were not sophisticated desserts like you would expect from a real French restaurant. Overall, it feels like a Western-style restaurant trying to imitate French cuisine. With this quality, a price of around 1500 yen would be more appropriate. The service was not unfriendly, but a bit pushy and high-handed. There was no explanation about the dishes. This restaurant frequently advertises in the town information magazine that is regularly delivered to my house, but after going there, I understand why they need to pay for advertising to attract customers.

I had the cheapest lunch course with dessert. It included a salad with lots of fresh vegetables, pumpkin soup, a choice of main course (I chose pan-fried sea bream), and coffee with dessert. The salad was a green salad with tomato and daikon, dressed in a sweet soy-based dressing, and also included apple and grapefruit. The potato salad was made with sweet potatoes. The soup had a homemade feel, with a nice spiciness, although the croutons were a bit oily. The main course was perfectly cooked, with plenty of sautéed vegetables. The sauce was too sweet and heavy for the white fish. A croissant was served on the side. The dessert was a mix of berry compote, matcha sponge, cheesecake, vanilla ice cream, and amaou strawberries in a tall cocktail glass, which was visually appealing and tasty. The restaurant was small and dimly lit, with narrow spaces between tables, making it hard to relax. The seating was uncomfortable. Overall, the food may appeal more to women, but considering the price for this lunch course, it felt a bit high. I might go back if someone really wanted to, but personally, I'm not eager to return.

I had always wanted to visit Alice Kitchen. I was surprised to find such a lovely French restaurant near the university I attended during my student days! The small restaurant had a beautiful atmosphere that I really liked. I decided to splurge a bit for lunch and ordered the 3000 yen course. The appetizer was a luxurious dish filled with more vegetables than I expected! The herb butter sautéed turban shell was incredibly delicious and innovative. The dish also came with prosciutto and foie gras terrine, which was already filling and visually appealing. The fruit tomato was really delicious! For the main dish, you could choose between meat or fish, so I ordered the pan-fried sea bream and my husband ordered the sautéed black pork. The sea bream was served in a hearty portion with delicious vegetables underneath. The vegetables were so tasty! The sea bream was thick and satisfying. Despite the 3000 yen price tag, the cost performance was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to those who love vegetables more than French cuisine.
