Hello. I'm Keinsuke. Today, I would like to introduce the cafe "Atelier Cato" in Nakazakicho. A popular cafe from Kobe has appeared between Tenroku and Nakazakicho! It takes about a 10-minute walk from the station, so it's in a slightly awkward location, but it's worth a visit to experience this wonderful cafe. There are only 8 counter seats, and it operates in time slots, so reservations are required for dining in. Of course, takeout is also available, so no reservation is needed in that case. This time, there were 6 of us, plus another group of men. The atmosphere is welcoming not only to women but also to men. <FOOD> - Melon Cake (1850 yen): You can also order it by the slice, but if you come with multiple people, it's recommended to buy a whole one and share it. When you buy a whole one, Chef Kato skillfully performs the cutting to reveal the cute cross-section of the melon. The melon itself was incredibly sweet and rich in flavor. Despite being generously filled with cream, it was surprisingly light and easy to finish. - Ultimate Creamy Canele (1050 yen): At first, I thought it was quite expensive for one canele, but it turned out to be a completely different creature resembling a pudding. It was a luxurious dessert with plenty of custard on a flat plate, a large canele in the center, topped with beautifully whipped cream like clouds, and drizzled with caramel. The outer layer was crispy, while the inside had a fluffy texture similar to takoyaki. <Summary> If you want to try such delicious canele, be sure to stop by Atelier Cato. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Thank you for the wonderful meal. <Points> Customer base: ■1 male ■men only ■1 female ■women only ■students ■families ■elderly ■couples □office workers Age: ■10-20s ■30-50s ■60s and above Remarks: □private room □scenery □power outlets □WiFi □line up ■reservation recommended □near the station □Instagrammable □quiet □long stay allowed □fun □hidden gem *Please note that the information is based on the visit at that time.

Parfait, canelé, and café latte for just over 2000 yen for those who love custard. The pudding parfait was delicious, and it was exciting to see them caramelize it right in front of me. The restaurant had a sophisticated atmosphere and was very lovely. Next time, I want to try the tart.

Custard lovers' parfait for 1300 yen (by reservation only)⁑ Stylish cake shop with counter seats✨ New pudding parfait introduced on September 9th✨ A generous amount of custard sauce on top of a firm pudding, rich vanilla ice cream, and bittersweet caramel. I love sweet things, so each bite made me happy. They caramelize it right in front of you, which was entertaining. I finally visited ATELIER KATO, famous for their whole melon cakes and fresh canelés, for the first time. Thanks to Kein-san, the Custard Ambassador, I was able to try their new Custard Parfait before its official release. It's called the "Parfait for Custard Lovers." When asked about my favorite dessert, I mentioned either Catalana or Crème Brûlée. The highlight was watching them caramelize the custard right in front of me. The parfait featured a classic hard-type custard with a generous amount of special custard sauce, allowing you to enjoy both firm and soft textures. It also had plenty of vanilla bean ice cream and caramel sauce at the bottom. It was incredibly delicious and a must-try for custard lovers. Despite the impressive performance and substantial portion, I was surprised by the reasonable price of 1300 yen, much lower than I expected. If you love pudding or custard, make sure to reserve and try this limited edition parfait starting from September 9th.

Half a melon shaved ice with melon. Inside the hollowed out melon, there is plenty of pudding and fruit pulp. The melon flesh is frozen and shaved into fluffy ice, then custard is poured on top right in front of you, and it's ready to eat. The melon was incredibly juicy and delicious, so I shared it with a friend who came along. Next time, I want to try the melon half cake. Thank you for the meal. #MelonShavedIce

A stylish restaurant with a trendy atmosphere. It's a bit far from Temmabashi Station, so you have to make a special trip to get there. I decided to check it out because it's a new place that just opened in April. There were no customers inside, just two big melons in the kitchen area. The display case had fancy melon cakes that looked expensive. I had no idea what to expect when I walked in, so I was surprised. I decided to get a canelé to go since I love them, and it was listed on the blackboard. The canelé was small and just how I like it. It was slightly bigger than the ones from Daniel's Canelé. It had a light sweetness and was delicious.

ATELIER KATO. In the spring of the 23rd year, they moved from Rokko to Tenroku? Nakazaki-cho? area. The interior of the restaurant has an open kitchen and a luxurious atmosphere with counter seats. The whole melon cake and fresh canelé are famous at this place, but this time the seasonal limited whole melon shaved ice was the main attraction. The texture of the shaved ice is moist because they freeze the melon flesh and shave it, but the taste is delicious melon. Of course, there is no unpleasant sweetness. What a luxurious shaved ice. There was pudding inside, which was also delicious. Since I was there, I also tried the famous whole melon cake. Mr. Kato cut it in front of me, so I took lots of photos. The taste? Well, it's delicious. I also got to taste the fresh canelé, and everything was delicious. I know it sounds silly to keep saying it's delicious, but this place is just all about luxury and deliciousness. Takeout is available, but the 8-seat counter "saison" seems to be reservation-only for the time being. (1 dessert 1 drink system) Eat-in schedule: 12:30-13:50, 14:00-15:20, 15:30-17:00. Whole melon shaved ice: 2900 yen. Whole melon cake: around 1800 yen (Ask).

A famous melon cake shop has moved from Kobe to Osaka. It's a bit inconvenient as it's a 10-minute walk from the nearest station. As a train user, it's quite far. This was my first time visiting to eat in, so I ordered the melon cake I was looking for! It was delicious, but at 1850 yen per slice, it was a bit pricey. However, there was less melon flesh than I expected. It was a beautiful and trendy cake.

I had been wanting to try eating in at this restaurant for a while, and I finally managed to make a reservation. The service was great from the moment I made the reservation on LINE, and it really got me excited. The whole melon shaved ice was unlike any shaved ice I had ever had before, and it was amazing! I also tried some other cakes, and they were not only beautiful but also delicious. I enjoyed learning about the cakes as well.

The melon cake artisan makes a whole melon cake! It was incredibly delicious! While eating it, I wondered how they make it. Well, in front of the counter, there is a performance where they cut the melon cake. The part with the melon stem is already cut, so the rest is truly a whole melon! It seems like it requires quite a bit of skill to make it look like the cross-section when cutting it. Today, I enjoyed it with musk melon juice for a very melon-filled snack time! Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the rumored whole melon cake. It seems like they hollowed out the melon and filled it with cake. It was very delicious, maybe because the melon was in season. I also tried the fresh canelé, which had a unique taste that I've never had before. The owner, Mr. Kato, was very friendly and it's a great shop. Thank you very much.

I bought this whole melon cake and brought it to my friend's birthday party. I paid 15,000 yen and was worried that it might be bad, but surprisingly, it was actually delicious. However, I was a bit disappointed because the melon was hollowed out and I couldn't find where it went. This is my evaluation.

Whole melon cake, attracted by the raw canelé, visited. I was able to witness the moment the melon was cut. - Melon cake: delicious, and it's great to witness the cutting moment. - Raw canelé: The harmony of the unsweetened whipped cream on top, the custard inside, the anglaise sauce, raspberry sauce, and the caramel sauce poured last is wonderful. - Hojicha Mont Blanc: It looks sophisticated, but it sparkles with gold leaf on top for a glamorous touch. - Pear tart: The pear is very juicy.

This is a famous pastry chef's shop known for their whole melon cake. They have a cafe corner for reservations only, but on this day, I bought a tart and canelé to take home. The whole melon cake is quite expensive, with 1/8 slice costing 1800 yen and a whole cake costing 1600 yen. It's not something I would normally buy, but I really want to try it at least once. The tart and canelé are also a bit pricey, but you can taste the quality of the ingredients, and the flavors of the butter and cream are rich and delicious. The cafe inside the shop has a great atmosphere, and I'm also drawn to their exclusive menu. I envy those who live nearby.

Since moving from Rokko, I have been wanting to visit this restaurant and finally got a reservation at "saison," a fully reservation-only eat-in space. The seating is at the counter with 8 seats, offering a view of the open kitchen where you can see the sweets being made and the canelés being baked. The eat-in schedule is divided into three parts: 12:30-13:50, 14:00-15:20, and 15:30-17:00. It is important to note that there is a one dessert + one drink order system in place. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying ATELIER KATO in this elegant and tranquil space. I tried the following items: - Melon 100% Juice: A melon juice made from a whole melon, known as "THE Melon," with a fresh and sweet taste that is absolutely delicious. - Fresh Canele: A must-try with its amazing texture and delicious flavor that is irresistible. - Melon Cake: A popular cake that not only looks good but also tastes amazing with its high-quality sponge and cream that enhances the fruit ingredients. - Ultimate Cream Canele: A limited quantity item that you must reserve in advance. The cream inside and on top of the canelé is the perfect complement to the main canelé, with a caramel sauce that will leave you in awe. After indulging in these treats, I ended my visit with a refreshing mint tea, feeling completely satisfied and content. It was a delightful and enjoyable afternoon filled with delicious sweets. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance for popular items, as they tend to sell out quickly. Overall, it was a delightful and satisfying experience, and I look forward to returning in the future.

Atelier KATO, a popular patisserie known for its melon cake, has recently relocated and opened in Tenjinbashi Rokuchome, a 10-12 minute walk from Tenjinbashi Rokuchome Station. Despite being a bit far from the station, the atmosphere is calm and stylish, making it a modern and attractive spot. The chef, with experience working in various French, bakery, and sushi restaurants, showcases a range of skills to provide top-notch sweets. Here are the menu items we tried at ATELIER KATO: 1. Melon Juice: A luxurious melon juice made from the juice collected while making the melon cake. It takes one and a half melon cakes to make a glass of melon juice, resulting in a rich melon flavor that is unique to this drink. 2. Melon Cake: A melon cake made without excess moisture by using melon juice in the recipe. It can be purchased pre-cut or shared whole with friends to enjoy the cutting performance. The balance of sweet, concentrated melon with strawberries, whipped cream, and sponge cake is exceptional, making it a delicious cake that is not too sweet. 3. Mint Herbal Tea from Hiroshima: A refreshing mint herbal tea that pairs well with sweet cakes. Made with specially grown mint from Hiroshima, this tea is fresh, aromatic, and delicious on its own. 4. Ultimate Cream Filled Canele: A special oversized canele filled with Anglaise sauce, unsweetened whipped cream, and rich caramel sauce. The creamy texture inside and crispy exterior make this sweet treat enjoyable even for those who may not like the usual dense texture of canele. 5. Chocolate Banana Tart: A sample of the upcoming menu item, a chocolate banana tart. This dessert was rich in chocolate chip sweetness and the unique sweetness of bananas, showing promise for the future menu offerings. Whether for takeout or dine-in with a reservation, ATELIER KATO offers a delightful experience for those looking to indulge in high-quality sweets. Be sure to visit and enjoy! Thank you for the delicious treats!

ATELIER KATO [Osaka Tenroku]... Enjoy adult canelés and melon cakes at the counter. The canelés made by the master here are amazing. They focus on flavor, texture, and aroma rather than sweetness. Definitely adult canelés. The melon cakes are made with skilled craftsmanship, so be sure to try them. Reservations are currently available for eat-in as of May 10, 2023! Takeout is also available, so it would make a great gift. Be sure to check it out!

I went to Atelier Kato that I was looking forward to! The interior of the store has a concept of the highest quality melon and the highest quality sweets. It was amazing! The clock somehow stopped at snack time ⏰ It's so stylish that I think ordinary people might not be able to keep up with it. There are also outlets on the tables and chargers available for lending! It's a perfect store for Instagrammers! It was around 60,000 yen for five people with all-you-can-eat, all-you-can-drink, and all-you-can-enjoy. I am completely satisfied with the deliciousness without any complaints! The ultimate sweets! If you are looking for that famous melon cake, you should definitely go! Thank you for the feast! Thank you very much.

Seriously, without any jokes, the canelés, tarts, and melon cakes in Japan are all the best in the world. I haven't traveled the world, so it might be too much praise, haha, but undoubtedly, this is the best cake shop I've ever been to in Japan. I used to go all the way from Osaka to Rokko just to buy their cakes because I love them so much. Now, they have finally opened a new store in Osaka, and I'm already a regular customer there. The new store even has a stylish eat-in space called "SAISON" which is reservation-only, and you can enjoy melon cakes and exclusive menu items there, which is amazing. Their ultimate cream-filled canelé is a must-try. It's inspired by the French traditional pastry "brioche savarin," with a moist texture soaked in an orange-flavored liqueur syrup. Inside, there's a special diplomat cream (custard + whipped cream) with a hint of vanilla bean, topped with Anglaise sauce, plenty of whipped cream, and a slightly bitter caramel sauce. It's a menu that cream lovers can't resist. It's a must-try. This specialty cannot be found anywhere else. In addition to that, they also offer the famous melon cake, melon 100% juice, tarts, and cakes for takeout or eat-in reservation. Among them, the domestic strawberry tart, pistachio tart, pear tart, and chocolate tart are highly recommended. The diamond-like texture of their tarts is incredible. Once you try it, you won't be able to go back to other tarts. It's truly amazing, and words can't fully express it. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance, as they tend to get fully booked quickly. It's a place that I want to share but also want to keep to myself. They also offer tart and cake reservations, and I always make sure to reserve the strawberry tart in advance. For eat-in, I recommend the ultimate cream-filled canelé and melon cake, along with melon juice and mint tea. For takeout, don't hesitate to choose their tarts generously. And don't forget to try the freshly baked canelé from the new store. You will definitely get addicted to it. I've tried canelés in many places, but this is truly the best canelé in Japan. The canelé is amazing. The tarts are amazing. Make sure to visit before it gets fully booked.

I discovered a new shop on my way back from running errands nearby! It's located next to the Super Life Honjo store where a bakery used to be! When I went inside, it was already evening and it seemed like they had sold out of most items... However, they still had two melon cakes available! I didn't end up buying them, but I did purchase some small bite-sized canelés. They were 5 for 800 yen. When I got home and had them with some tea, they were crispy on the outside and had a delicious taste on the inside! Since they were small, I could easily eat 2 or 3 at once! The melon cake slices were priced at 1800 yen. It seems like you can also pre-order whole cakes. I'll make sure to go earlier next time to see what other cakes they have! Inside, there was an L-shaped counter where you could enjoy cake and tea.
