Second visit, first time was just for a meal. The accommodation fee, including tax, is 8000 yen, which includes a delicious meal! It's luxurious. It's amazing to get a course meal at this price! It feels like they put all their effort into the food – the dishes are luxurious. Every dish was delicious, but the mixed rice was especially good. It had a sophisticated and rich flavor with various tastes mixed in, and the ikura (salmon roe) on top was so good that it almost seemed like it was getting in the way of the perfect mixed rice! As for the accommodation facilities, to be honest, they're not great. But I think it's better not to have high expectations. I'll say it again, the focus here is on the food. The seasoning is elegant, bringing out the flavor of the ingredients and making it delicious. The presentation is also beautifully done, and I think if it were a high-end restaurant, it would cost several times more. They only offer water for drinks, so it seems like it's okay to bring your own soft drinks or alcohol from a convenience store or nearby supermarket. I'll say it again, the focus here is on the food.

I visited the restaurant without staying overnight, and the course cost 10,000 yen per person for 6 people. The children's lunch for a 3-year-old was complimentary and included a luxurious ikura (salmon roe) bowl. We were able to bring our own alcohol as they provided glasses. The dishes were all luxurious and well-crafted, with each one being visually satisfying. The simmered dish was particularly impressive, as it seemed like the ingredients were cooked in different flavors before being added to the broth. The food was delicious and seemed to rival high-end restaurants. Although the restaurant lacked a luxurious atmosphere due to its old-fashioned setting, the fact that we could enjoy such luxurious dishes at this price was truly delightful.

It's just a very ordinary inn.

- About a 7-minute walk from JR Ashibetsu Station and about a 10-minute walk from the Ashibetsu Bus Terminal, this old inn offers relatively good value for its location, convenience, and price. - Ashibetsu used to be a bustling coal mining town and tourist destination, but has seen a decline in visitors due to the recent economic downturn. - While there are no convenience stores or izakayas within a one-minute walk, some may find this lack of amenities charming. - The meals, both dinner and breakfast, are simple home-cooked dishes that may feel surprisingly fresh and enjoyable. - The hostess's warm smile and hospitality make for a pleasant departure.

I had a sudden business trip to Ashibetsu and was looking for a ryokan near the station. I was recommended this ryokan, which was inexpensive but had high cost performance. The price was 5,500 yen for one night with two meals. At first, I was worried about the price, but as soon as I entered, I felt that it was a clean ryokan. I was led to a room on the second floor at the front desk, and it was a very calming space. I thought about going out before dinner, but the time spent waiting was so pleasant that I changed my mind. The dinner was basically the best they could offer for the price. It was simple home-cooked meals, but surprisingly there were fried foods for young people and light fish for the elderly, making it a high cost-performance ryokan. The breakfast was a traditional Japanese set meal with rice, miso soup, natto, egg, salmon, seaweed, and salad. On my way back, the landlady even saw me off until she was out of sight. It was truly a ryokan that made me feel glad I came. If you ever visit Ashibetsu, I highly recommend giving it a try.
