KANIYAN
Located in Iko, Fukuchi-cho, Tagawa-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture. A bistro in a residential area of Fukuchi-cho. It's not easy to find suddenly considering its location. The sign is displayed, but it's hard to find without navigation. A hidden gem restaurant. Lunch menu includes Today's Lunch, Today's Pasta, Hamburger Lunch, Pasta Course, Petit Course, Hamburger Course, Steak Course, Today's Cake. They also offer frozen hamburgers for takeout. This time, I ordered Today's Lunch (1300 yen). It came with soup, salad, three-layer pork loin and chicken sauté with black pepper flavor, rice, and blueberry prune juice. The soup was a consommé soup with cabbage, bacon, and enoki mushrooms. The sweetness of the vegetables was prominent, adding a touch of sweetness. This sweetness added a Japanese element to the Western-style consommé soup. The salad was a vegetable salad with lettuce, cabbage, red cabbage, and tomatoes, dressed with a citrusy Japanese dressing. The main dish included three-layer pork loin with demi-glace sauce, chicken sauté with a teriyaki-like sauce and black pepper, a radish-based stew, mozuku seaweed, tuna bruschetta, clams, and short pasta with cream sauce on a single plate. The combination of Western and Japanese flavors was evident throughout the meal. I chose rice over bread, which complemented the Japanese influence in the Western-style lunch. The blueberry prune juice was sweet with a hint of blueberry flavor, making it a perfect dessert-like ending to the meal. Tea or coffee is also available. Overall, the meal had a Western base with Japanese influences, and I would love to try their pasta next time. Thank you for the meal.
