I visited Kawauchi Winery for a tour of the vineyard and winery. The vineyard is planted with Delaware grapes in a French style. The grapes are still small. After seeing the vineyard, we toured the winery factory. A small midget car was parked at the entrance, almost in a state of disrepair. This small midget car used to run around the vineyard to work. They make wine by putting grapes and yeast in this tank. They adjust the temperature to create the desired taste of wine. This tank is for making plum wine. There are old large wine barrels. On the right is a hydraulic press machine. On the left is a destemming and crushing machine. There is a hole used for entrance exams. If you couldn't pass through this hole, you would fail the exam as in the past, you had to wash the inside of a grape barrel. There are wines stored for aging. When the tour ended, we had lunch. We had lunch on the second floor of the Kawauchi Wine Hall, with a wine tasting included. It's like an all-you-can-drink style. The stained glass represents wine. There were about 10 types of wines, plum wines, and juices lined up. The meal was a Japanese-style bento box. The food was from Sozou, a creative cuisine restaurant in Zeze. We toasted with wine. The toast was with Delaware wine, which you can see a little in the background of the bento box. It was my first time trying Delaware wine.

Kinki Wine Factory's own restaurant "Konjikidou" in Habikino City is a charming building that has been renovated from a warehouse right next to the Kinki Wine Factory. This restaurant does not have a dedicated chef, but irregularly collaborates with chefs from various genres on weekends to offer dishes that pair well with Kinki wines, making it an interesting and unique dining experience. On this day, the chef from the French restaurant "Bonsique" in Yao provided the catering, with a limited capacity of 25 seats. After a brief one-hour factory tour, the meal began simultaneously. The Delaware Nouveau release event at Konjikidou cost 3500 yen, including a glass of Delaware Nouveau. The contents of the meal are as shown in the photos. It seems like a good deal compared to going to a regular restaurant! The meat was a bit tough though (^^;) Glass wines are available for around 300 to 500 yen. Since the dishes are served to everyone at the same time, if you eat faster than other groups, you may have to wait a bit. However, we were a few people chatting and drinking, so we didn't mind at all. We enjoyed the factory tour as well, feeling like we were on a "grown-up field trip". They seem to host events with different genres and various chefs, so I would like to visit again when they have an event that interests me. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Do you know about "Kindokuya" wine? It is actually the former house name of the winery that is now known as Kawachi Wine. Recently, a weekend restaurant called "Konjikido" has opened, collaborating with mysterious chefs who serve dishes that pair well with the wine. This month's chef is from "TORATTORIA・LAMPIA" in Higobashi. Let's enjoy a wine-pairing lunch!
First course: A stunning lacquerware antipasto with a touch of Japanese flair. It includes Kawachi duck prosciutto, octopus with bagna cauda, and deep-fried pizza with seaweed and squid ink. It stimulates both the visual and taste senses, making the wine enjoyable.
Next, risotto with oysters and seafood. The slightly al dente rice is enhanced by the taste of the sea salt, combined with the sweetness of Tanba chestnuts. It is delicious and sparks conversation.
For the main course, there is Izumisano Inunaki pork sausage and stewed pork with tomatoes. The homemade sausage has just the right amount of spices, perfect for pairing with wine. However, the tomato stew is slightly too salty, affecting the harmony with the flavor of the beans. Overall, it was a bit disappointing.
The menu and dishes mentioned here are only available this month. Even if you want to try the same dishes again, it may not be possible. Next month, there will be a collaboration with the famous managing director of Kawachi Wine, "Romane Kintei." Will we be treated to the managing director's homemade dishes? The hospitality is sure to be outstanding. What is the truth behind it all...
