Located on the 7th floor of the South Building of Grand Front Osaka, UNCHI Co., Ltd. operates a specialty dan dan noodle shop that is known for its long lines and unique offerings such as "Humanity is All Noodle Species," "The Last Swing of the Crappy Old Man," and "The World's Most Leisurely Ramen Shop." They offer a twist on the traditional dan dan noodles by using a premium fish broth made with "bonito flakes" typically used in traditional Japanese cuisine. The interior of the restaurant is stylishly designed with a classical touch, featuring both counter and table seating arrangements. The open kitchen allows diners to watch the chefs at work, enhancing the overall dining experience. The restaurant also provides chilled lemon carbonated water in stainless steel glasses to accompany the meal. The signature dish, "Soup-Laden Dan Dan Noodles," is served in a traditional bowl with cashew nuts, white onions, and chopped onions. The soy sauce-based broth is sweet and spicy, with a kick from the chili oil and numbing sensation from the Sichuan pepper. The homemade noodles are medium-thick with black sesame seeds, offering a chewy texture and firm bite. The meal is completed with a golden bonito broth poured over the noodles, creating a flavorful and satisfying finale. The iconic "Golden Dan Dan Noodles" feature a vibrant contrast of green vegetables against the golden broth, made from bonito flakes. The homemade noodles with black sesame seeds provide a chewy texture and excellent resilience. The dish is topped with generous portions of ground pork and vegetables, offering a hearty and fulfilling meal. Additional toppings, such as a hot spring egg, can be added for extra flavor. The broth pairs perfectly with the smooth noodles, creating a harmonious and delicious combination.

I had the "Golden Tantanmen" with extra noodles and a hot spring egg topping. I couldn't taste the sesame flavor, but enjoyed the spicy oil and seafood broth. I added plenty of Sichuan pepper from the table for extra heat. The noodles were like fresh pasta, chewy and smooth. The slotted ladle was handy for getting all the minced meat. It was hard to resist the urge to drink up all the soup. I had a lemon soda in a wine glass as usual. A bite of rice at the end was a free service. I left feeling satisfied after the extra noodles. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a Dan Dan noodle specialty shop that I had been curious about for a while. I had high expectations because I really like the shop's affiliated "World's Most Leisurely Ramen Shop." I was torn between ordering with soup or without soup, but this time I ordered the Dan Dan noodles without soup. The spiciness was mild, but the balance of the cashew nuts' texture, noodles, and minced meat was very good, and I found it delicious. Also, they served complimentary rice at the end, and the complimentary carbonated water added a touch of luxury, which was nice. My companion ordered the Dan Dan noodles with soup, so I tried a little, but I recommend the one without soup. This has become a shop that I definitely want to visit again when shopping in Umeda.

I am "Noronori," mainly eating lunch around Sakai. If it's a restaurant affiliated with "Jinrui Minamen," then the taste is definitely reliable (*^-^*) It was nice to be able to enter without waiting in line, even though it might have been just by chance. The atmosphere is like a cafe, and they serve sparkling water! It was so delicious that I drank it all in one go, even though I don't usually drink it. I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat, so if they had said that refills cost extra... I would have been like, "Uh oh!" But it's okay! The waiter quickly added more for me. I had the Golden Tan Tan Men. When I took a sip of the soup, I was like, "Huh? What is this?" It's a strong, Japanese-style broth that tastes amazing, with a bit of spiciness but none of the unpleasant numbness typical of Tan Tan Men. It's all based on the broth alone, which surprised me! The noodles have a unique appearance, with a dark gray pattern and a slightly thicker but flexible texture. The noodles have a mild and delicious flavor. What is this? Tan Tan Men? It's definitely Tan Tan Men, but it's not! It's even more delicious! It's chewy and addictive. Is this really classified as Tan Tan Men? That's why the restaurant's name is "The One Who Breaks the Rules of Tan Tan Men," confusing people and making them ultimately understand and accept it. I feel like I've been tricked, but I want to be tricked again. Thank you for the meal.

On the 7th floor of Granfront Minami Building, there is a popular ramen shop that specializes in tantanmen, a type of spicy noodle dish. The interior of the shop has a stylish and chic atmosphere with a cafe-like feel, making it look different from a typical ramen shop. I tried the Tantanmen with Minced Pork and Large Leaves of Ume Plum, topped with a hot spring egg. The soup is made with golden bonito broth and has a mix of minced meat and large pieces of South High Sea. Tantanmen is usually known for being very spicy, but this one has a Japanese-style broth with the option to choose the level of spiciness, making it suitable even for those who are not fond of spicy food. The coarse-ground minced pork is plentiful, and the colorful bok choy adds a nice touch. The homemade noodles have black sesame kneaded into them, providing a pleasant texture. Despite being medium-thick, the noodles are chewy and have a good bite, complementing the soup well. The large leaves of Ume Plum are refreshing, and when mixed in, the acidity pairs well, making it perfect for summer. It was delicious! Adding a hot spring egg makes it milder and gives it a creamy flavor. To finish, a bite-sized portion of rice is served, allowing you to enjoy it like a porridge with the soup. The fact that they serve carbonated water with ice is also very stylish. It's lightly carbonated, easy to drink, and pairs perfectly with the tantanmen.

Located in Osaka Umeda, "Those Who Break the Rules of Dan Dan Noodles" is a ramen shop that offers a unique twist on the traditional dish. While Dan Dan Noodles are typically known for their spicy miso sauce, this shop uses a Japanese-style broth made with bonito flakes and kombu. As a result, the noodles have a mild spiciness and a rich umami flavor. The noodles themselves are thick and made with whole wheat flour, giving them a satisfying chewiness. Toppings include ground meat, mizuna greens, wood ear mushrooms, and Sichuan peppercorns, adding to the overall texture and flavor. By breaking the rules of Dan Dan Noodles, this shop has opened up new possibilities for this classic dish! Be sure to stop by if you're in the area!

After drinking in Osaka, I had a sudden craving for the soupless tantanmen I had in Hiroshima as a finishing touch. I searched for it in Umeda. Kingken closes at 8 pm, so that's not an option... I found another place, part of the "Humanity Loves Noodles" chain, and went up to the 7th floor of Grand Front South Building! There were only 3 groups of 6 people waiting. Maybe because of the location, you don't have to wait too long to get in (maybe?). The restaurant was about 60-70% full, and there were some empty seats set up, so I thought we would be seated soon, but we ended up waiting for about 20 minutes. There weren't many staff members, so I guess they needed to fill up the seats to keep things moving... The menu is handed to you after you enter the restaurant, but it would have been nice to see it while waiting. I ordered the soupless tantanmen with a soft-boiled egg topping to finish it off! And a beer... Huh? No beer? What do you mean, there's no draft or bottled beer on the menu (T.T) I reluctantly chose a highball. [Soupless Tantanmen with Soft-Boiled Egg Topping] You mix it all together to eat, but it's a bit different from the Hiroshima style as it lacks the broth. You get a small amount of broth, and you can choose to pour it over the noodles or drink it separately. When you take a sip, you wonder what the flavor is. It's not a simple dashi made from bonito, kelp, or shiitake mushrooms, but a thick, rich broth. I poured it over the noodles, and it enhanced the flavor nicely (●´∀`)b The minced meat was a bit firm, but the cashews, white onions, green onions, and onions each had a distinct taste, and the right amount of spiciness, texture, and flavor matched perfectly. The noodles also absorbed the flavor well and tasted delicious! A serving of rice is served as a complimentary side, so you mix it in at the end. Yep, it's delicious until the last bite! I was actually looking for the intense spiciness of the Hiroshima-style tantanmen, so I was a bit disappointed, but this soupless tantanmen was still delicious with its rich flavor and spiciness (^-^) The customers were mostly young couples. I must admit, I had a preconceived notion that such restaurants only gained popularity through young people's trends, so I didn't have high expectations, but it turned out to be a genuinely delicious restaurant! Just please, bring back the bottled beer, haha. Thank you for the meal!

Limited time offer: Yuzu Mizore Tantanmen with warm egg topping + extra spicy yuzu broth. The broth is infused with yuzu juice, mizore, and shiso, making it refreshing even though it's tantanmen. It was topped generously with meat miso and even came with rice for the finale. The restaurant is clean and they serve carbonated water in wine glasses. They even ask customers with long hair if they need a hair tie or pin. The service is outstanding. It's a ramen shop that women can easily drop by. I want to try their soupless tantanmen next time. Located in Grand Front Osaka.

The bonito broth is so flavorful~ This is so delicious~ For someone who loves seafood broth like me, this is fantastic. It's really good, yes yes. It's not Dan Dan noodles, it's "Tan Tan noodles" with a fish broth flavor instead of sesame flavor. It's solidly Dan Dan noodles, no, Tan Tan noodles. It's delicious.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was very calm and luxurious! It was nice that they served carbonated water instead of regular water. The nuts helped reduce the spiciness, and I could adjust the level of spiciness, so next time I might make it a bit spicier!

I got hungry while working, so I went for lunch. I used to listen to Mr. Children while eating tantanmen, but I stopped and came to this restaurant. I like spicy food, so I ordered it with medium spiciness and without soup! It's better without soup than with soup! Mr. Children is great too! Next time, I'll try the spiciest one!

During the lunch rush, I went up to the 7th floor of Grand Front to find a place to eat. Surprisingly, there was a seat available at a restaurant I had not visited before, part of the UNCHI group. I ordered their classic golden tantanmen noodles (1080 yen + tax). The soup was light and slightly sweet with a bonito base, lacking the sesame paste or miso aroma typically found in tantanmen. The spiciness was mild, covered by chili oil. The noodles were chewy and delicious, with black sesame kneaded into them. There was a good amount of minced meat, and the side of Chinese broccoli served as a nice palate cleanser. Although the dish was easy to eat due to its light flavor, the taste became monotonous quickly. However, there were condiments like Sichuan pepper and black pepper on the table for customization. Overall, it was an interesting twist on tantanmen, resembling more of a ramen with bonito soy soup and chili oil. It showed potential for a new flavor profile.

The shop in Grand Front is stylish and the staff are polite. They serve sparkling water instead of regular water, which is nice. I ordered the soupless tantanmen, and the presentation was very meticulous. The staff may be a bit slow and clumsy, but the taste is elegant and delicious. The texture of the onions and nuts is pleasing, and even eating the soup like dipping noodles was tasty. The rice dish was also delicious and went well with the meal.

I went to a noodle shop to try the golden tantanmen, which may divide opinions. Honestly, it felt more like a meat soba than tantanmen. The noodles were a chewy type with black sesame mixed in. Personally, I think straying too far from the basic tantanmen might not be the best idea. Thank you for the meal.

Around 17:00, two of us entered the restaurant. Since it was evening from 5:00 PM, there were no other customers. The sign in front of the store read "All Mankind Noodles Series Store," and many people stopped in their tracks thinking, "Oh, that place from 'All Mankind'!" We were also one of those groups. The background music in the store was, of course, Mr. Children. As mentioned by others, the water served was lemon sparkling water poured into wine glasses, which felt quite stylish. They provide a pitcher so you can drink as much as you want. It's a bit filling with the sparkling water, but it's nice. The menu stated that the Tan Tan Men without soup was the most popular, but we were also curious about the Golden Tan Tan Men, so we ordered one of each. The Tan Tan Men is a must-have with a hot spring egg topping. Golden Tan Tan Men - 1080 yen. I was surprised because it was completely different from what I imagined a regular Tan Tan Men to be. It had a strong Japanese-style broth flavor, with umami but refreshing. Not very spicy. Personally, I wanted it to have a bit more of a Tan Tan Men taste, but this was also good. Tan Tan Men without soup - 1080 yen + hot spring egg. I can see why this is the most popular. It has a solid spiciness that goes well with the sparkling water. I wish the hot spring egg was a default topping. The minced meat and sauce mix well and explode with flavor. Comes with a sip of soup. Both come with a bite-sized portion of rice at the end, and if you tell the staff, you will receive a small side dish of rice. If you don't ask, you won't get it. The taste is consistent with the All Mankind series of stores. I will come back again.

I used to love a shop on Torishima Island, but it closed during the pandemic. However, I recently found out that it has reopened at Grand Front! The menu is almost the same, which brings back nostalgic memories. This time, I ordered the soupless tantanmen, which was easy to eat and had just the right level of spiciness.

I went to a place that breaks the rules of Tantanmen. Sorry for the low-quality photo as usual. It's totally not good. I wonder if this place is part of the UNCHI group? I haven't checked, but probably. The atmosphere is nice, there is a sense of cleanliness, and the food isn't bad, but it doesn't break the rules.

The dry tantanmen noodles cost 1180 yen, with an option to add extra noodles for 220 yen and a hot spring egg for 77 yen. The interior of the restaurant is quite stylish, and they serve complimentary sparkling water with lemon, which is fantastic after the meal. The dry tantanmen noodles have a generous amount of minced meat and a mild spiciness with rich flavors. The cashew nuts add a nice texture without overpowering the taste. Adding golden broth for a flavor change gives it a more Japanese touch. The golden broth also pairs well with the complimentary rice.
