The kurumi mochi at Sapporo Shinkuraya was delicious, so I made a note of it. I found it at a high-end supermarket, priced at 150 yen, so I decided to give it a try. After researching, I found out that it is a popular shop in Sapporo, known for their delicious traditional Japanese sweets using sweet bean paste. When I visited Sapporo before, I only went to places like Shiseido Parlour and Rokkatei, so next time I go, I definitely want to visit this shop as well. #SapporoShinkuraya #kurumimochi #JapaneseSweets #JapaneseSweetsLover

The shop opens at 9:00, but the café starts serving at 10:00, so I waited a bit before entering. I ordered the Morning B set with iced coffee for 630 yen. The dumplings were soy sauce and sesame flavored. The soy sauce dumplings were sweet and salty, while the sesame dumplings were fragrant and deliciously soft. The coffee had a refreshing bitter taste, and the atmosphere inside the café was cozy and relaxing.

The mochi was soft and small in size. The way the sweet red bean paste was placed on top was cute. The soy sauce was on the sweeter side, with a slightly strong soy sauce flavor. The soy sauce had a stronger elasticity compared to the mochi! I would like to try other dango next time! It had a traditional feel to it. By around 16:30, they were almost sold out!

I love this Showa retro shop in 6-chome of Tanuki Koji. I wanted to eat oshiruko on the second floor, but I didn't have time, so I took out skewered dango and quickly ate it on a bench. I really wanted to eat it with soy sauce and sesame, so I chose the grass dango because I thought it would be messy. It was delicious!

I visited because I was craving something sweet. The main dish they sell is dumplings, but they also have cakes for sale. This time, I bought an "apple tart." I will bring it to the shop that has been taking care of me (laughs). Apple tart! It was my first time eating it, but it was delicious. I could eat as many as I want!! I want to go buy it again. Thank you for the meal٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

I was feeling a little hungry, so I bought some dumplings at the long-established store "Shinkuraya" in Tanukikoji Shopping Street. I got one sesame dumpling and one black bean paste dumpling. The dumplings were soft, with just the right amount of sweetness, and the combination of the bean paste and sesame worked well together. It was just right for a snack. It was delicious.

I stumbled upon this place while wandering around Tanukikoji Street and decided to go in as I was looking to take a break. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the soy sauce dumplings were small but soft and delicious. I also got a bonus matcha castella, which had a crispy edge and a moist center, it was really good.

A long-established sweet shop that has been around for over 60 years. They are famous for their Hanazono dango, and you can buy various sweets there. They also have a cozy café space at the back. Their menu includes morning sets, light meals, as well as a variety of drinks including cream soda, parfaits, and anmitsu. I ordered the Hanazono dango set which includes 5 dango balls with red bean paste, matcha paste, white bean paste, sesame, and soy sauce flavors, along with a choice of coffee or tea. This popular menu features delicious dango made with Hokkaido red beans, making it a local favorite sweet shop.

I saw a picture of delicious cream anmitsu and decided to come here. The first floor sells rice cakes and the cafe space is on the second floor. It was almost full, but luckily I found one seat available and was able to sit down. I spent a relaxing time here while waiting to watch RRR. The cream anmitsu looked so good in the photo, so I had to try it. The balance of red bean paste was perfect and the soft serve ice cream was delicious. I also ordered sesame rice cakes and the hot green tea that came with it was amazing. It was nice to have a Japanese-style cafe experience for a change. I had a great time relaxing with rice cakes, tea, and cream anmitsu. The retro Showa-era atmosphere inside the cafe was very cozy. Thank you for the meal! You can also get rice cakes to go on the first floor, making it a wonderful cafe experience.

The seats are so low, like elementary school desks! But it's nostalgic! When I called for the cashier at the register, the staff from far away made a face and said, "What is it?" If you don't come over here, how can we resolve it? What kind of customer service is this?

This shop is located in the 6th block of the arcade on Tanuki Koji Street. I have used the second floor cafe room here a long time ago, but this is my first time buying takeout. I have bought skewered dango for takeout a few times at a small shop underground at the TV Tower, but... On this day, I stopped by on my way shopping in Tanuki Koji after checking out of the hotel using a stay coupon. (I shouldn't be able to use stay coupons at this shop) ☆■White bean paste 108■Soy sauce 108■Three-color dango 162 I took the photo after coming home, but I had bought a lot of things and my bags were full, so the skewered dango ended up leaning and getting squished in the corner. (I'm sorry for the terrible appearance of the photo... (^~^;)ゞ) It was delicious. Next time, I might try buying walnut mochi or dorayaki. It would be nice to use the cafe room again after a long time. Thank you for the meal ☆

Around Odori and Susukino, I wandered in the morning looking for a cafe or coffee shop to pass the time before my intended shop opened. I have a weakness for Japanese sweets, so naturally I was drawn to the cafe in the Japanese confectionery shop. They offered a unique set of coffee with two dumplings for breakfast, which was quite rare. It was a delightful meal for me.

The retro cream anmitsu shop has a slightly firm texture, but it's delicious. It's a bit disappointing that all the fruits are from cans. It would be nice if they used soft serve ice cream from Hokkaido. Since we're in Sapporo, it should be the kind that's not too sweet and tastes like milk.

After years of not visiting Hokkaido, I decided to travel there and meet up with a friend. Before meeting up with my friend, I stayed overnight alone and visited a cafe near Sapporo. I took a train from Sapporo and within a few minutes, I arrived at Shin Kuraya. Shin Kuraya is not just a cafe, but a tea room attached to a traditional Japanese sweets shop. I visited on a Sunday evening and was lucky to find a seat of my liking before it got crowded. The cafe is connected to the sweets shop, with a lovely atmosphere created by the curved wall decorations, brick design, unique lamps, and fabric-covered sofas. I ordered the famous "Hanazono Dango" set, which includes 5 different flavors paired with coffee. The dango (sweet rice dumplings) were soft and fluffy, and the blend coffee was delicious. Despite the heavy rain that day, it was convenient to access the cafe directly from the subway through an arcade shopping street. The retro charm of the cafe, with its small lights evenly spaced out, was charming. If you ever visit Sapporo, I highly recommend making a detour to Shin Kuraya. It's within walking distance from Sapporo Station, and worth the visit.

I felt like eating something sweet and came across this place while walking down Tanukikoji. I bought 2 "Hanazono Dango" with soy sauce, 6 with sesame, and 2 with black bean paste. Luckily, there was a discount so I got them cheaper than the regular price! I brought them home and tried them. They were all delicious, but the sesame one was the best! It's been a while since I had them, but they were still tasty. I definitely want to go back and buy more. Thank you for the meal!٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

The red bean paste itself is delicious and nostalgic. However, the important mochi is quite soft and gooey, which some people may like. The atmosphere is very nice, so I would like to use it as a cafe. The soft serve ice cream seems to be delicious. I want to try the cream anmitsu. I'm also curious about the red bean hot sandwich!

On this day, I bought Hokkaido manju at a Hokkaido product exhibition held at a nearby supermarket. It contains one manju in the shape of a sea bream, filled with red bean paste and sesame paste. They are small, so I finished them in no time (^_^.) Not too sweet, and very delicious (๑´ڡ`๑)

Cream soda for 690 yen at TANUKIKOJI 6-CHOME. The old established Japanese confectionery store Hanazono Dango's Shinkuraya-san Otaru branch operates separately due to adult circumstances. Immediately started selling at the storefront, for cafe use head to the 2nd floor. Taking a break while drinking alone during the day, weakened by the alcohol ban (´Д` ) A bit of a retro space, more of a coffee shop than a cafe! Ordered a cream soda, not a character one, but I like melon soda (*´Д`*)テレッ Coffee shop-like syrupy taste, soft and nostalgic. Tasted great (*´艸`) Reminded me of my childhood, nostalgic. Thank you for the meal (^ω^)

Cream soda and Hanazono dango set. The soda was strong and delicious. The Hanazono dango comes in five flavors: black bean paste, matcha bean paste, white bean paste, sesame bean paste, and soy sauce. There were five of us, so each person chose their favorite dango. I chose the sesame bean paste dango. The dango was topped with plenty of paste, which dripped as you ate it. The slightly coarse sesame paste gave me a sense of nostalgia. It was a fun time.

Today is Hinamatsuri. So I decided to buy some sakura mochi and uguisu mochi. When was the last time I had these? The combination of salty pickled sakura leaves and sweet red bean paste is really good. The kinako powder on the uguisu mochi is nostalgic. It must not have any strange ingredients mixed in. It was very delicious. Next time, I'll try dango.
